I played the original Wasteland a long long time ago and loved it. Played through all the Fallout games released on PC as well. I have WL2, but haven't had much time to play it yet unfortunately. I like that they carried over the rangers from the first game. Seeing their names brought back some nostalgia.

That's so awesome! I like it more than the non-SD version of the "Thunder Hummer".

Arcadia 1/60 VF-19 Custom Nekki Basara Special with Sound Booster
MacrossJunkie replied to SaitouSad's topic in Toys
Those little 1/60 FB figures actually make me want this, haha. Too bad the price of admission is too high for a valk I don't particularly care for. -
I submitted a ticket to ask about why mine is still stuck in "preparation" for all this time when other people have had theirs shipped and gotten them already. Not to mention the fact that other stores were able to send them out on time from the product's release. Thanks, Saburo. That's interesting that the shade is different. I hope that doesn't bother me (assuming I even get mine at this point).

For those who got their supers today, does the light gray on the crotch plate and the front of the legs match the light gray on the wings of the super pack? You and me both regarding the N-Y seemingly eternal prepping stage. Their site even seems to show they have them in stock now so I don't know what's the hold up. They better not ship those out to other people before covering the ones who already pre-ordered long ago and paid. As for most subtle super parts, my vote goes to the YF-21 and YF-19 FAST packs (or do the conformal leg covers on the VF-0 count?). On my very first watch through of Macross Plus long long ago, I never even realized they had extra bits on them.

HLJ dropped the ball for me too, but on a completely different item. I pre-ordered the VF-22 Master File back before it was out. The release date came and went and there was no movement on my order. It went to backordered and now on the site, it shows Oct restock. What the hell is the point of pre-ordering?! I never even got any communication from them saying that they didn't have enough or whatever. Between this and N-Y botching the Ozma YF-29 Super parts pre-orders, I don't know what place I can trust these days not to screw up a pre-order.

Thanks guys! Did a shot with SMS Skull squadron geared up. I'm kinda bummed because I noticed that the stupid shield adapter for the RVF must have fallen off at some point while it was in fighter mode and now I can't find it... sigh... I had to stick the shield on with putty instead -

Just finished up my 25F Tornado pack and put them on my re-re-issue 25F. -
Ugh... mine is still stuck in "Preparation in progress" at N-Y...

Haha, applying all those decals was tedious wasn't it? Especially cutting them up to fit and randomizing them enough. I can't thank you enough for pointing me to those hull panel decals, btw. For me, I think half the time spent was trying to plan out where to put them. They really make a huge difference in the level of apparent detail though. That thread in general is just full of great ideas. That SDF-1 is definitely something to be proud of. It's not just the other jewel in your collection, it's the crown jewel ... and argh, your pics reminded me that I have yet to put together those photo etch VF-1's... I keep putting it off because it's frustrating trying to work with something so tiny (yeah, yeah... cue the "that's what she said" comment). -
Well now. Isn't this confusing... So now my question is... is that a Hasegawa display or a display of officially licensed Macross kits at the show?
-
Well, that sounds more believable. Wasn't Wave the company that released that 1/5000 toy a while back? I wonder if this is going to end up being an upgraded version. Maybe it will actually end up being a toy like the 1/5000.
-
I'm with cool8or. I'd prefer a SDFM version if for nothing else than the fact that I already have a DYRL? SDF-1. Still, I'm curious to see how the detail on this kit compares to the Yamato 1/3000.
-
Interesting. In case anyone is wondering about length, actual length of the SDF-1 is 1210 meters, so in 1/4000 scale, that would be very close to 12 inches (11.9) or 30.25 cm if not including the spiky things coming out of the front. The 1/3000 version from Yamato is 16 inches (actual 1/3000 scale would be about 15.9).

WTF?! How is this even possible with paper? That's amazing! It looks more like a plastic or resin kit or something.

Thanks! The way I figure it, I will probably never find the decals I need for the YF-19, short of buying a hasegawa kit just to scavenge the decals off of it. So I just made the best of what I had since, like you, I was extremely dissatisfied with the plain look of it out of the box. I think the painted flaps is one of the best parts of that! It's amazing that something so simple adds a whole lot to the overall look of the valk. I love it and now I wish I had done something similar with the control surfaces on mine... The VF-4 has such a unique transformation design. It really looks like it doesn't transform and for the longest time I had a hard time envisioning how it could go possibly from the fighter to battroid. Yep! Don't be ashamed to post your photos! The more the merrier. It's more fun when everyone shares and it would get boring quick if only a few people contributed pics -

The little black markings I added that aren't on the toy itself, but were in the master file and even on the original 1/60 YF-19 toy in some cases. I pretty much just ignored the transformation manual. -
Did they ever re-instate your order? I think given that they themselves delayed the release date to the 29th, they should show some leniency here since the 17th was supposed to be when they got them. If they don't, it's kind of a double standard - You're punished if you are a bit late with the payment, but it's totally okay if they are paid but they don't deliver with the goods on time.

At the very least, if they aren't going to bother tampo printing the valks, Arcadia should make optional waterslide decals. They can't possibly cost all that much for them to make and they already have the ability to print white. I feel like I have to do so much myself on the 19, like painting the grey stripes or making up for the missing surface detail. Here is one of my 19's so far. It's very much a work in progress. Most of the stickers on the sheet match up with the markings in the VF-19 master file (like the ones that say "Hover Nozzle Cover Pivot", "Active Air Flow Controller", "Glove Arm Inside", etc.) so I used that as a guide along with the Hasegawa stuff. Still need to panel line it more, weather it and clearcoat. but I'm waiting to do that until I finish stickering the other one so I can do them both in one go. It's been gathering dust for a while now so it's pretty dusty in the pics despite me blowing it off a bit. I guess the stickers aren't entirely terribad, but the worst offender is when the stickers on on a black surface. Then the edges of the stickers are as noticeable as an air raid alarm going of in an otherwise silent night. -

So I decided to give Flickr another try and spent two and a half hours on it trying to migrate my photos over before giving up due to a god awful laggy nightmare of an interface. The main draw for me to Flickr is that the tags actually work. Google FUBAR'd the picasa tag system with their merge with Google+ so searching or clicking on any of my tags results in either no results when there should be a bunch, or brings up completely unrelated results in Google+. It used to work great before they tried to jam that piece of crap abomination of a social network down everyone's throats. Unfortunately, whoever designed Flickr's UI interface must have been lobotomized before making it. I can see it would be manageable for someone who isn't batch adding a ton of photos at a time and just uploading maybe 20-30 photos in one go. But trying to manage and re-organize hundreds of photos, which is not unheard of for me after coming back from traveling, would be an exercise in tedium and frustration as the UI is completely impractical. The reason being that you can only select one, yes only ONE, image to move around at a time. So imagine having to scroll up and down a page, looking for an image among 700+ images, clicking and dragging it with laggy response times to scroll way back up the page through the jumble of said 700+ photos to where you want it and then having to repeat that hundreds of times one by one instead of doing 10, 20, 50 or 100 images at a time. If there is a way to actually move around more than one image at a time when re-arranging an album, it would be greatly appreciated if it could be explained. Alternatively, I guess one could add photos to the album in the order they want, but that method isn't much better because the photos to select from are presented in a single row of images that you have to scroll through horizontally, likely scrolling past and missing images, but taking forever if scrolling carefully through. So the way I see it right now, I guess my choices are to deal with Picasa's borked tag system and have a much more efficient, less convoluted UI, or have a better tag system with Flickr but want to tear my hair out when uploading and managing photos Sorry, just had to vent after getting so frustrated. -
Predicting when a Bandai toy will go floppy/loose would require some chicken bones, a ritual sacrifice. LSD, a crystal ball and some buttered popcorn to be able to answer that.
-
When I was doing my photo shoot for it, transforming it around, and putting it in different poses, there honestly wasn't any point where the braces would have provided me any real benefit. It's just like the wing pegs for 171EX. Some people had theirs pop out just looking at them funny. Mine never came out on their own and, in fact, I had to struggle to pull mine out so that I could change the wings.
-
Could be. More likely in most cases it's just simply that the tolerances are such that some are made tighter than others. Aren't the braces just to keep things from sagging or flopping around? On my copy, I didn't need anything to keep the wings from sagging down in GERWALK mode. They stayed up pretty securely. In battroid, the nose cone stayed butted up against the underside of the fuselage and didn't flop around with movement. In my case, the braces really were not needed and wasn't just a case of, "well, there's a tiny bit of sag, but within acceptable range so I'm not gonna bother with the brace." I probably lucked out on mine, so the standard YMMV warning applies.
-
Mine didn't need a support piece either in any mode.
