Is there any way you can file down whatever is preventing the nose from going all the way up? My OCD'ness would force me to do something about it or go crazy. Nice shot! 3 different 171's in 3 different modes.

They physically fit, but the colors don't mix well, IMO.

If you're getting the RVF-171EX, you could just put it on that and if they do release Alto's NUNS wingmen, you could put the MDE particle cannon and anti-ship missile pod on one of those since that's all they were equipped with. Then there would be nothing wasted! Edit: oh yeah, except the wings

That was the primary reason for me getting the super parts for the CF 171. I just wanted more missiles. The super parts, I repainted, took some pics with them on the 171 and then put the parts back in the box and they haven't been out since. I got a lot more use out of the missiles.

I don't know about the other 19's, but the VF-19A should be able to accommodate a 2nd seat as it was identical to the YF-19 with the exception of somethings like upgraded engines, avionics, and the cannons in the wing roots. Even so, being single or double seat shouldn't really have any bearing on the type of canopy used. The VF-25 and VF-1, for example, could take a second seat or had a variant that could and they were all single piece canopy deals. I don't even know what the benefit of a split canopy would be. It seems like it would make things more awkward to get in and out of and there is more complexity involved in that sort of design.

In all likelihood, this project is dead. It's been over two years since it was shown and nothing else has been mentioned or displayed since. =(

I just got home and haven't seen anything in my mailbox or on my doorstep so I guess I'm not getting it today. =( It still doesn't look too bad with the blue. I just wish the green was lighter. Like the green on Luca's 25. Maybe that will have to be a masking job, ugh... Thanks. Yep, it has been.

Ah, okay. Maybe it came from one of the Macross Chronicle issues. That bottom shot reminds me of some improvements over the Arcadia that I hope this one will have. - the ends of the arms not sticking out past the shield. - gunpod is straight instead of angled downward. - lack of/vastly decreased gap below the kneecap. Of all the things though, the gunpod bothered me the most. It bothered me greatly every time I looked at the profile of fighter mode and wished they came up with a way to attach it so it would be on straight, like maybe the gunpod handle would extend or something.

Chances are good that it will have the same split canopy as the YF-19 and VF-19A since Isamu specifically had it modified to be like his old YF.

Have you tried something like Mr. Surfacer 1200 thinned with a lacquer thinner?

Mine looks like it may arrive tomorrow. I'll take some fresh out of the box pics of all modes if it does arrive tomorrow. I'll dress it up in my CF super parts also, just to see how it looks with these colors.

I think at this point, it would be easier to procure one from mandarake after they have been released. I picked up my second VF-25F months after the most recent re-issue and only paid MSRP. That's what I plan to do with the 25S also. I couldn't get a pre-order either.

While the YF-29 is not my favorite design due to the bulkier profile of fighter mode, I think the Ozma YF-29 is one of my favorites I have due to the fact that the color scheme is awesome. The Isamu YF-29 was a web exclusive, if I recall. So they made as many as they got orders for.
