Wow, that is incredible work! Knowing that you fashioned it out of paper makes it that much more amazing.

These third party offerings are going to make me want to start collecting more SD stuff beyond the Makuros. I was never really into SD stuff before. It would be amazing if a 3rd party would tackle some of the rarer/more obscure stuff like Studio Half Eye has done with the Feios, VA-3, and VF-5000. However, not crappy looking like the S.H.E. stuff, but more along the quality of many of the 3P transformer releases. Oh, and 1/60 scale too so it goes along with the Yamato/Arcadia/Bandai releases. We're especially lacking in enemy mecha. Well, one can dream...

Thanks. It is the toy. Thus far, I don't have any models. -

Thank you. I think the photo quality didn't come out as well as I had hoped, but I'm too lazy to re-shoot -

Took a while for me to get around to it, but I finished my YF-25. Painted the edges of the shoulder blocks because since they are never really flush in fighter mode, the white on the sides always showed and that bothered me. Just did a light bit of weathering on it overall. Fighter: GERWALK: Battroid: -
I like that they have been including hardpoints on their recent releases. They could have gotten away with not having any on this or the YF-30 and they included the hardpoint wings for the RVF-171EX. Maybe they'll do it on all future releases whenever applicable. Re-renewal VF-25's now with hardpoints!

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
MacrossJunkie replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
So the PO cutoff is before possible black friday deals people were hoping for. -
Sounds like MM really needs to work on their shipping packaging. Whatever they are doing seems to be insufficient to protect the boxes.

That's pretty adorable. They go well together. Nice arrangement! -
After deciding my Alto 29 should have super packs like my other ones, I got a set off of Mandarake which arrived last week. Just opened it today and I found a part was missing... One of the fold out plates on the tip of the starboard fold wave emitter was missing. It was marked as opened and box damaged but never mentioned anything about parts missing. Oh well. I knew it is always a gamble when buying an opened box from Mandarake. I've got a spare set of YF-29 super parts for the 20th anniversary version so I'll just steal a piece from there and repaint it white.

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
MacrossJunkie replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
I think they're using a similar design, but the fingers look slightly less anemic on this iteration. The 1/48 and original VF-0 hands looked downright skeletal and could barely manage to hold things worth a crap. Still wish they could take a cue from Bandai and make better looking hands which also gripped gunpods better. Yamarcadia's best looking hands were on the YF-21/VF-22 and VF-17. -

At least it looks like it can achieve a wider leg stance compared to the previous VF-0 releases. Crooked gunpod! PANIC! Fortunately, the hard point indentations look identical to the Arcadia YF-19's so we'll be able to attach the missiles and stuff from the 19 if we wanted to. -
That looks very good. Who did the custom? I like the added detail in the visor and the strike cannon. Were the head lasers drilled? It looks like the ends might have been modified. It's great that the seams in the head were puttied and filled in. The 1/48 1S still has the more accurate and better looking head sculpt, IMO, compared to the 1/60's.

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
MacrossJunkie replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
Now that color, I think is great. It looks more or less spot on to me. I like the gunmetal paint job on the gunpod also and the close ups look like it has finer detail as well. From what I can tell, it looks like a new mold to me, which hopefully means a handle that isn't so floppy. Edit: Once again for color comparison purposes here are some numbers to compare. VF-0D color from screen cap: Color Hex 537aa3 22.55% Red 33.15% Green 44.29% Blue Color from the above image picked from a point that isn't washed out by lighting: Color Hex 335674 20.16% Red 33.99% Green 45.85% Blue That is pretty darn close! Given a margin for variance depending on the spot sampled, that color is correct. -
You can just flat out have the box if you want. I'm running out of storage space for valk boxes anyway. The stupid Bandai ones take up all the space with the dang styrofoam packaging that I can't stack like I can with the Yamato/Arcadia plastic packaging. PM me if you want it and we can work out details. Edit: Oh nevermind. I did find a slight ding in the corner that I didn't notice before. So it's not perfect as I thought it was.

Not bad! My only critique is that it feels a bit weird to me that the foreground is in focus while the VF is out of focus and then the background is in focus again. -
Mine is perfect also which is ironic since I'm one of the ones that didn't care. Found I had a small ding in the corner after closer inspection.

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
MacrossJunkie replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
Ah. I haven't had any issues with my 17D and S personally and I didn't recall seeing widespread complaints on the 17's ankles like I frequently do with the 19 series, so I was only able to base it on my own experiences. Did the VF-4 ball jointed ankles also? I don't recall and I can't tell from my own pics because there is a piece blocking the view of the ankle joint connection point, but it certainly looks different from the foot-on-a-stick designs of the 17 and 19. -

MacrossJunkie replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
Oh, I'm not excusing it. I'm just saying it won't stop me from getting one because I like the fighter mode too much to miss out on it. Besides, we don't even know if it will have the same problem as the '19 ankles. The VF-17 ankles are also ball jointed like that and they weren't bad at all. You have to give credit to Bandai for the ankle joints on their Frontier valks though. They have great articulation AND look good as well (not feet attached to a thin rod). Arcadia should look at those for some inspiration on ankle joint design. -
Love that portal gun replica!

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
MacrossJunkie replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
Yeah, my YF-19's can barely stand. I've had them fall over a few times in battroid mode while displayed in the detolf. The one I keep in battroid mode now is just propped up by a wing against a stand to keep it standing should a slight draft move by it. Not going to affect my VF-0D preorder. My VF-19's stand okay and I want it mostly for fighter mode anyway. -
Maybe use some super glue or something to tighten the hole in the handle or thicken the peg on the hand? Mine is tight enough with just the thumb and index finger in place that it can hold the gunpod without even closing the bottom three fingers around the handle.
-
Hmmm, not really. Are the pegs going into the gunpod handle properly? How is it in the other hand?
