Their website says: So you're probably right. If no one is around until Saturday in Japan, the orders might not even show up unless they have it automated to show up at a certain time. Still can't hurt to check. Just one more page to refresh

You can try Distill Web Monitor. It used to be called Alertbox. You can monitor the whole page or specific elements of a page and set a refresh rate too, I believe. I haven't used it since the time it was called Alertbox so I'm not sure what they've changed.

QFT. You never know if you'll get a chance to secure it if you wait for a certain store. They could sell out by the time your browser loads the page, so grab whatever is the first one you can get if you don't want to gamble. You know what they say. A bird in the hand is worth killing two in the bush with a stone... ummm... or something... Needs to come with an optional canopy with a hole and red splatter.

I like the head unit. There's a lot of overall similarity between the 25A head and the 31A head. I'm guessing that Model Graphix model is not official and is a kit bash or some parts were scratch built as it is somewhat off. It shouldn't have that fold crystal housing, but a wider empty space. Still pretty good and hoping the missiles are official also.

Let's hope it actually is a web-exclusive. I hate the whole late-night pre-order racefrenzyganza.

You're a bit behind? I haven't touched anything in my collection for over a year and a half I still have things from over two years ago that I still need to finish... Fortunately, last year was a slow year for me Macross purchases wise. Just the two 31J's and the hi metal Monster. But yeah, I think I'll try to get back on track, starting with the 31J. I really wish I could figure out how to take the screw caps out without damaging the plastic. there are some parts I want to take off to re-paint or to sand down to give more clearance. I painted the ugly grey block just under the top thigh swivel area and perfectly matched the blue only to find to my horror that upon folding the legs up for GERWALK completely scrapes the paint off that grey block. So without being able to take this apart, I may have to give up on that idea or re-paint it and never transform it ever again. I wish it was more like how the 1/72 model was done there. Oh yeah! The VF-31A Kairos(?) is my favorite of the 31's too! I really hope they make it. The color scheme, wings, and even the container pod are better, IMO. Something tells me we're going to be waiting a bit for that one as they probably won't make that until the rest of the 31's and 262's are out.

Yup, set your alarm for sometime before Friday 2 AM (to give yourself time to load up and sign into all the websites and have the searches ready). My rear wheels don't roll either. There's simply not enough clearance. It's hard enough just to rotate the wheels vertically to begin with.

Doh! I meant Optane. Also known as 3D Xpoint. It's a technology jointly developed by Micron and Intel. Supposedly 1000x faster than Nand and 1000x higher lifetime. They said it is relatively cheap to produce and there will be both DIMMs and SSD products made using this tech. Very early engineering sample SSD's of Intel's Optane drives were only about 10x faster than current SSD's which is a far cry from the claims, but they said they were still working out the drive controllers. -
TCracker, I haven't been around for over a year probably, but I have to say that I noticed your photos have really improved. These are nice shots. Ah, I didn't realize they were common problems. I left out the typical broken VF-1 and VF-0 shoulders that happened to just about everyone.

I've been puttering along with an Ivy Bridge as well. Been holding off on building a completely new PC and just upgrading parts as I needed over the past years. It's served me pretty well so far. I usually wait for big jumps in performance before upgrading. Had SLI GTX 670's before and wasn't until Mid-September that I went to a 1080 and doubled my framerates with a single card. I'm also waiting to see if Intel's Opteron drives will be as fast as Intel claims because that could be a game changer as well. -
It's probably just my crap luck with QC. Like: my VF-19S right leg just randomly falling off not too long after I got it, while it was displayed in battroid mode one of my VF-171's missing a multitude of parts in addition to the exploding shoulders tip of the VF-19Advance head laser was broken off and missing out of the box VF-0D head laser hinge cracked out of the box folding hinge for sliding neck plate of YF-29 Alto disintegrated. worked out a fix for it. SV-51 Nora leg swivel part disintegrated over time. Was able to repair with glue. VF-22S Gamlin thighs weakened and split apart I know there's more but can't remember them at the moment. Keep in mind I don't play with them. I transform a few times, then weather them and stick them on display. So some of these broke on their own or disintegrated over time while not being handled and only noticed until later... Yeah, I noted those were not the right shape as well. I'll see if I can find some plastic weld type glue. Hoping it will work on this type of plastic. I guess worst case scenario, I'll just display it in fighter mode where the missing flaps are mostly hidden. I'll re-tint the canopy and hope it helps to hide the crack.

Yeah, I tried super gluing one together. Let it dry for a day and attempted to put it back on. It just fell apart the moment I tried to snap it back on. I don't think the glue can grip the plastic well.

I'm waiting for 3rd party benchmarks of the official release of AMD's Ryzen CPU to decide which way to go. So far, it looks promising with the IPC seemingly exceeding that of Intel's i7-5960x. Once the actual thing is out on the market with optimized platform drivers, I want to see how productivity and gaming performance compares. Having an 8 core 16 thread CPU with i7 comparable performance at half the price of Intel's 8 core 5960x (SR7 black edition supposed to be $500) would be amazing, not to mention it would push Intel to stop being so lazy with these low effort incremental refreshes. The 6 core SR5 at $250 or normal 8 core SR7 at $350 are outstanding price points if the performance holds up. If rumors are true, then AMD's Vega GPU with HBM2 memory should also rival nVidia's upcoming 1080 TI. If the performance is good, I may go Red for the GPU also since Freesync monitors are much cheaper than G-sync monitors and nVidia's driver antics have been pissing me off for a long while. Good times ahead for people looking to upgrade or build a new PC and wanting options/actual good alternatives. -

Awesome group shot! Just how big is your photography surface for you to be able to fit all those comfortably in one photo anyway? Like over 36"? -
The plastic of one of my copies seems kind of brittle. The canopy cracked down the middle of the front half, probably sometime while I was opening it. The two large top and bottom flaps on the container module have also split apart. One split in half where it attaches to the hinge, and the other is in the process of splitting apart along the same area. Not sure if they were on too tight which caused them to split or what. Waiting to see what happens to my other one. Hopefully it was just bad luck/QC on the one. The canopy is very surprising considering how many of them I've opened or taken off without a problem. Anyone else have any similar issues?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought getting the gunpod out was scary. I thought mine got glued in. I was pulling and pulling and feeling plastic stretch and bend. I tried many attempts and gave up when my fingers started hurting. Finally managed to get it off a couple days later. Great shots!

I got one of mine before Christmas. Still waiting on another which I had accidentally ordered thinking I hadn't gotten one yet >.< The engineering on it is pretty fantastic. Definitely improved over the YF-30. The things I dislike about it are not Bandai's fault, but just with the design of the valk to begin with like the stupid knee cap landing gears. It might be just mine, but the final hinge for the whole weapon container assembly is kind of loose so it flops around and doesn't stay in place in battroid mode. It often times just falls back and points upward. Other than that, a couple minor quibbles, like the 3 outer green flaps on the projector thingy are shaped incorrectly and the canopy having a sparkly frosted look to it. Not sure what they were going for here, but I am probably going to strip it off an re-tint mine with a clear yellow once I get the time to figure out how to disassemble it to get at the front piece. Only got around to doing an oil wash to bring out the details, and there is a lot of it, as expected from Bandai. Edit: Just took a closer look. Bandai got really really good at hiding the screws because I can't find them and can't tell what parts are actually screw caps in the entire fuselage and nose area..

An easier way, if the scratches are not too deep, is to just coat it with Future. It fills in minor scuffs and scratches and makes it look shiny and new again.

Ah, I assumed you had taken it from a Hasegawa VF-0 kit. Well, here's a shot of the decals from the 0D and 0S/A kits and Arcadia stickers. Sorry for the potato quality phone pic, but it should be enough to compare the size of the decals yourself. For the most part, I feel like they are close enough in size, that you wouldn't go, "That's too small", once it's applied. Of course, I effectively paid $20 per sheet of decals since I had to buy the whole kit as Hasegawa does sell them separately. I figured I already paid a fortune for these toys, what's another $20?
-
I had bought a Hasegawa 0D and 2x 0S kits just to use their waterslides since I figured the slightly smaller size for the markings still didn't look out of place. Nice to know for sure that they still look pretty good. Have you finished applying your decals? If so, have you had any problems with silvering or getting the decals to stick to the textured finish of the valk? I've been thinking I need to spray a gloss coat first, but if you haven't had any issues, that might save me a step. I can't spray the Alclad gloss coat indoors so I'd have to wait until temperatures and weather are permitting otherwise. I particularly like these battroid shots. Good job, Saburo!

I've been looking for a large display case replacement for my Detolfs as well for the past few years, but I can't find any place local that has the sort of thing I'm looking for. The cheapest thing I've found online that is like what I want is here for $460, but I don't know what the shipping cost is and I would need to submit a pre-order or something to get a quote. The second cheapest I found online was this place for $495, but shipping + taxes come out to be an additional $207. Still trying to find a local place because shipping is just prohibitively expensive as these things are around 200lbs, but it's looking like I may be stuck with Detolfs also unless I find a place that can make custom glass cabinets at a decent price.

Magical girl valkyrie armor... confirmed(?) While unlikely for the 262, I wouldn't be surprised at this point of the Walkure group's drones could combine into a frilly dress configuration to attach to the 31's...

So at one point, I gather that the boomerang drones ran out of power. It looked like one of the 31's had a container pod that could recharge their power quickly and bring them back into battle.
