  1. Personally, I say keep it. You may feel like kicking yourself afterwards if you get that itch to play your old games on the HDTV. But if you don't care about playing on the bigger screen and your old PS2 is still working, I can't really stop you. I think BC-capable models still fetch a decent price nowadays... should at least cover for the price of the slim. Hopefully they'll bring back backwards-compatibility somehow. Plug it in other ports? Think you can still return it and get a replacement?
  2. A Phenom II X4 965 and a Gigabyte mATX mobo An Amazon giftcard (or winning lottery ticket) A Samsung UNB8000 Time, freedom, health and happiness (for everyone) A Luka Megurine figma w/ a Takoluka A set of vocaloid nendoroids 'The World is Mine' Miku Hatsune figure (for my brother) and HLJ to start giving points for purchases also, World Peace. ...and I guess a VF-11b/c would be nice too...
  3. I'll do it for you Drunken Master II final fight scene and a bonus, Drunken Master II Axe gang scene also,
  4. Hmm, I don't know if any of you know this particular site but I found some of the cool pictures that badtroll uploaded in higher resolution, http://www.otakubell.com/LDs/index.php?/category/261 Also, I don't know if this one has been posted yet but here it is: Konachan.com has a much larger resolution of the same picture by the way.
  5. What? I have one frag grenade, I might as well use it to save my life.
  6. Exact same thing here. Just looking for an AGP video card for my Vaio snowballed into a massive headache, it took me a month of research, snooping, and asking around to see what options I have since I wanted (and I guess had to) to keep the case, which of course mean I'm stuck with the power supply. Long story short, I stumbled upon a site that listed the actual power consumption of various cards. With the advice from the guys at the Jonnyguru forums, I ended up with the Radeon HD2600XT. Been happy with it ever since. I still love my Vaio. It's five years already and it's still chugging along pretty well and handles many of the newer games just dandy. Every now and then, I'll get that "mini lawnmower" noise from the PSU just like yours, but it goes away after a few minutes. Not something I should take lightly, but I'll live with it for now.
  7. Wasn't there a patent filed by Sony for a "PS2 Emulator" though?
  8. I can understand the PSU being proprietary, it actually served a function (powering the speakers, which I thought was neat at the time--not anymore!) but I think it's kinda pointless for everything else...
  9. Unfortunately, none so far.
  10. Your youtube link ran away from my screen . Anyway, I went to youtube to check it out. Great. I need to watch all of it
  11. Who else does this besides Dell? Proprietary power switch and power/HDD LED leads... and proprietary motherboard standoff positions?
  12. You know that Donnie Yen film, SPL, has some good fight scenes. One notable one is
  13. Well, if you still need a 2GBs, Amazon at the moment has two brands for $30. Found it off Slickdeals again. Patriot PSD22G6672S Signature PC2-5300 DDR2 667MHz 2GB SODIMM CAS 5 Module (Green) OCZ 2GB PC2-5400 667MHz DDR2 Value SoDIMM Module (OCZ2MV6672G) or if you live near a Fry's Electronics (which is almost never the case and chances are they'll probably be out of stock anyway): 4GB kit / (2GBx2) / 200-pin SODIMM / DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module / CRUCIAL
  14. I have alot of favorites, but one I could think of now is: Wong Fei Hung vs Boxer Rebellion head honcho in the Last of Hero of China Part 1 Part 2 andof course there's the fight scenes from the Cowboy Bebop movie: Spike vs Electra Spike vs Vincent Spike vs Vincent: Rematch Goddammit, do people really have inject unnecessary music into movie scenes? Also, I actually downloaded a 4 hour compilation of fight scenes that this one 4channer uploaded, awesome stuff. If only I could upload all of that Indeed. It's probably the most memorable fight scene from Star Wars.
  15. Pretty much, manufacturers are focusing more on producing DDR3 more than DDR2 now. Though DDR3 prices hasn't dropped enough yet :\
  16. Sometimes, I hate limited stock...
  17. Well, this time of year is a pretty good time to buy just about anything... There's also a list of laptops put up on Tom's Hardware, if some of the deals haven't expired yet, maybe you'll find something that you like: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/deals-bla...-sale,9166.html (Though HP mostly populate the list...)
  18. If you look on Slickdeals every now and then, you could find a decent laptop deal This is probably one such deal, however the coupon is dead but the cashback still works... : http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1705959 You won't be able to play the games you mentioned on high, but I think they are still playable...
  19. I seem to be listening to alot of Vocaloid songs and the One Ups thanks to my brother. Also, while I was looking at youtube for Escaflowne music... I'd say it's not only limited to just boss battle themes. Also cool live, thanks for bring that to my attention.
  20. I actually went ahead and got the mATX case, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...9-044-_-Product Antec Mini P180 White for $45. Although I prefer gunmetal & black, I'm glad I got in on this. Hopefully, I can get a deal on its bigger brother or similar. This will be the first step towards my building of two new computers, which will be awhile before I do. [edit] Gunmetal's on sale right after... Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? D:
  21. I'm still waiting for the Adventures of Dr. McNinja...
  22. .... I like as well. Never met anyone who hated it with a passion. I think the only thing really impressive about Avatar's CG is the scenery, particularly the floating islands and the sunlit jungles. The animation physics gets my nod as well.
  23. Can't go wrong with Lenovo? Bummer. I always thought that HP's quality was comparable or better than Dells at least. I also think HPs look better than the rest. Not too surprised about Asus and but I'm surprised by Toshiba... @Azrael: Was that Santa hat always there? :?
  24. The Delorean in Crysis Enough of a valid reason to get Crysis? I'd like to see this car wreak havok in multiplayer.
  25. Unfortunately (like always), the second season's ending leaves more to be desired... I need to watch Sky Girls too, I want to see what's the fuss all about. Also, Touma makes every episode epic.
