The All Things Video Games Thread!
shiroikaze replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Looks like Steam has a weekend deal. Freedom Force & Freedom Force Vs The Third Reich for $2. X-COM Complete Collection for $2. Tropico 3 for $13.60. Looks like the Psychonauts deal is already gone... -
Do you still need replacement shoulder hinges for your V.2 VF-1?
shiroikaze replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Toys
Both hinges on my VF-1S Roy are cracked, they're still attached though... -

So the iPad is basically just a scaled-up, beefed-up iPod Touch? I'm kinda interested in it for illustration purposes. I guess, in a way, it's better than buying a Wacom Cintiq? -

The Xbox 360 Thread Pro Edition

Sorry, I just linked the first tutorial that came into view. Thought it be nice quickie tutorial. Guess not. It made sense to me though... This one seems like a decent in-depth tutorial, same thing though: http://www.gamerwok.com/archives/786 Also, I read that it doesn't have to be that particular WD model. Some Newegg reviewers says this one works too: Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD2500BEVT 250GB -

That's pretty epic. I can see that this game is going have alot staying power. I would love to get in on this game but alas, I'm staying away from subscription fees. For those who have played EVE Online (haven't played that either btw), how does Star Trek compare to it? Or is it apples to oranges?

Final Fantasy Play Arts Figures

Was going to post this in the "All Things Video Games Thread" but I found this old-ass thread. The pictures are from Sankaku Complex but I uploaded them here anyway. I was never really a big fan of Play Arts figures but these overwhelmingly nice. -
Have you tried holding the power button down until the second beep? (~5 seconds)

It's Hatsune Miku. You know, one of the Vocaloids. This particular design is for a remix of a song, though I can't find the exact video though showcasing the design: Moon remixes I kinda prefer the . Here's the artist's (Nagimiso) original design.

Yeah, it's a Biostar 790GX A3+. Chief reason being is because it's ATX, I need a micro ATX to fit in the mini P180 that I bought from Black Friday. Yeah, I know I shouldn't have limited myself to a mATX, but I don't really regret it. After some pondering, I decided to go ahead with it. I don't really need a slew of expansion cards and I don't necessarily need crossfire/sli either... -

Hmm, I guess I'm still kinda scared... But woot! I finally got my paws on the Phenom quad-core combo. I'll probably sell off the bundled motherboard for $65 or so since I really have no need for a full ATX motherboard. Though, before selling the bundled Biostar motherboard, I think I might test it out to see if there are no problems with it. But since I don't have an ATX case on hand, I was wondering what can I use to temporarily hold the motherboard? [edit] After some snooping around, I guess a block of wood seems fine. It seems like I'm going to buy the rest of the setup from Amazon opposed to Newegg. The only problem now is that I'm just torn between the ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO and the MSI 785GM-E65. I guess I should've bought either motherboard from Fry's while I was there to save some trouble... [edit] I think I'll hold out until Gigabyte releases a new mATX. In the mean time, I'll buy the RAM and hard drive. Also, a question about using RAID: A hard drive and a RAID controller both have error correction, right? I've read that if you use a regular desktop hard drive and not a RAID/Enterprise class drive, that drive will drop out of the RAID because it will time out while performing error correction. What I'm wondering is that if it's just like ECC memory--If the computer is not on 24/7, it won't be a problem. Or will I run into it regardless? -
Apparently the man behind the iphone jailbreak hack took him 5 weeks to hack the PS3. So more than three years later after the PS3 debuted, it's finally been done. Or so it seems. http://kotaku.com/5455340/iphone-jailbreak...-hacked-the-ps3

Yes, though I don't know about the quality of those motherboards. And apparently three more deals have appeared. Fry's Brick & Mortar Combo List AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black & Gigabyte GA-M68M-S2P $80 AMD Phenom II X4 965 + BioStar TA790GX AM3+ $180 Intel Core i3 540 + MSI H55-E33 $179.99 I'm probably going to jump on that 965 combo and just sell off the motherboard for a different one. -

I'm going to say nay on the price. Also (found this on slickdeals btw), I believe this is pretty similar: Dell Studio XPS 1640 for $903 via Amazon -
Nice find. Any idea who is it or is it just random pilot? *right click, save* It needs a bullet.

That's kinda lame since alot of the old DOS games aren't really commercially distributed anymore. But I guess I'll remove the links, I don't want this forum to get into any potential trouble because of me.
