  1. Mine arrived this afternoon. Have not had a chance to check them out.
  2. I moved to a CoreXY (head moves in X and Y) printer recently and won't ever go back to the translating bed system for the same reasons. My last printer (Creality CR-6 SE) topped out at 100mm/sec, which is pretty standard, and my new one (Bambu P1P) tops out at 500mm/sec. That's turned out to be an accurate estimate. My large prints (at 0.1mm vertical resolution) are indeed completing five times faster. I believe the new Creality K1 tops out at 600mm/sec.
  3. The proxy I use doesn't charge for shipping upfront, but when I requested shipping for this item yesterday, the price was about a third higher than I expected, given its size. There might be some truth to the explanation that the item is heavier than expected, but based on what I've seen other MW members report over the past few years, BigInJapan seems to be known for big upcharges on shipping. It's why I won't use them.
  4. Biggest downside to BiJ is their astronomical shipping cost. Not that we have a lot of options for TWE, though. AE's markup on TWE items puts them in line with most proxies after you factor in all of the fees the proxies tack on to the order, so you're paying a premium no matter what.
  5. Snagged Max and Hayao through my favorite proxy service. They acted really fast on my request, which was a pleasant surprise. They only had a few hours' notice before the PO window opened.
  6. Got a notification from my proxy as well. I've been looking forward to these.

That is much better, except for the less-than-24-hours-notice thing. Just submitted a purchase request to a proxy service. Fingers crossed.
  8. And Bandai isn't really known for doing more than one production run for anything Macross-related. There are some exceptions, like when the DX SSP set got an immediate second run after the first sold out, but that was done up front as a second PO, not after release. This news is...concerning. Sounds like HLJ just got Bandai'd. Welcome to the club, I guess.

Based on the Twitter post, more info will be available tomorrow (19 May). Not sure if I want, or don't want, a three pack. Already have three Hikarus, due to the latest GBP release, and it might be cost-prohibitive. The upside would be one less night of PO madness to get both Max and Hayao in a single purchase.
  10. I can't unsee that. I wish that I could.
  11. The kit has a crazy amount of detail. Was actually a lot of fun to print. I even designed custom clear resin panes to fill in the canopy frame.
  12. Very nice! So far I've printed (but have yet to build...) these monsters: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/aliens-apc https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/1-35-aliens-dropship https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/1-35-gunstar-the-last-starfighter https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/other/babylon-5-starfury-starfighter-3d-stl-printable-files I'm printing this one right now: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/sulaco And these are up next: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/1m-long-babylon-5-omega-class-destroyer https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/stargate-bc304-daedalus https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/other/babylon-5-thunderbolt-3d-stl-file-1-48th-scale
  13. Yeah, that's getting really close to the speed of the Bambu Lab P1P (256 x 256 x 256) that I purchased last December. Creality recently announced the K1, which is a little bit faster than everything else on the market. All of these options are making it a lot easier to do large prints in a decent amount of time. I bought mine so I can build really large starship models.
  14. You mean a WWM "Genius Blue" version, right?
  15. I've reached the point where I don't in any way trust Bandai's pre-release promo pictures--and I think that all of us here on MW are in the same boat. We've been Bandai'd too many times over the years. Usually the color differences are relatively small, but this one is pretty big. I'm now less excited about the reissue I ordered.
  16. Just received my Private Warehouse notification from HLJ for the VF-31S Arad
  17. And it will be a TWE item only available inside Japan or through a proxy service
  18. A gunpod hug may or may not have happened at one point. My wife thinks that it's adorable. She wanted to use it as a body pillow. I had to pry it out of her hands to get it back into its protective plastic bag. Yes, you'll receive a shipping email. It will be in Japanese. It's not easy to use the tracking link they provide, but the courier they use is reliable. Your order should show up at the forwarding service within a day or two.
  19. Bummer that it sold out so fast. I snagged one the first time around. I still rate it as the most ridiculous and most fun Macross item that I've ever purchased.
  20. I *do* have 3D printers and would love to make one myself, but @bzwacks hasn't let us know yet if he'll make the files available at some point. A lot of work went into the design and I would understand if he wants this to be a one-off creation. I'd also be very sad...but would understand.
  21. Grabbed this from the Tamashii Nations site. It normally loads in English for me, auto-translated from Japanese on Bandai's end. Looks like they recently changed how the site works, though, because when it loaded tonight only the WWM releases showed up. Pro tip: just above the language selection button is a small greyed-out region selection button and you have to select Japan for everything to show up. Turns out that when you select English, the site assumes that you don't care about anything sold outside of the US. Bad assumption on their part.
  22. Theoretically, by the end of this month
  23. You have a gift for extreme understatement
