No problem. Here are pics of the 1/60 Angel Birds custom I recently completed:
-
All of the sets I have made will be available within a few days, which includes ones like the 1/48 FAST Packs. I'm still working on that 1/72 BR set for you.
-
I'm putting the finishing touches on four of them right now, but I will be releasing 16 new decal/sticker sets later this weekend, along with all of the usual ones. Some of these I've had for quite some time (Blue Roses, Angel Birds) but I didn't want to sell them widely. Then my ALPS printer died and had to be fixed, so I'm releasing pretty much everything I've created (44 sets in all) as part of a fundraising effort to offset printer repair costs ($400). For many of these sets, I will only be releasing them this one time. You can see pictures of the sets at this site: Decal and Sticker Samples Here's the list of the new stuff: 1/60 Elint 1/60 Ostrich 1/60 Angel Birds 1/60 Blue Roses 002 (dark blue with yellow trim) 1/60 Minmay Guard 1/55 Blue Roses 002 1/55 Minmay Guard 1/55 Low Vis 1/55 Low Vis Option 1/55 Low Vis Squadron 1/48 Minmay Guard 1/48 Blue Roses 002 1/48 Blue Roses 004 (grey camo) 1/48 Blue Roses 006 (desert camo) 1/48 Enigma 1/48 Club-M Ultimate Strike Blue Roses 002 I'll update this thread as I finish the four remaining sets and will post a thread in the For Sale forum when I'm ready to take orders. Edit: The remaining four sets are done. I will most likely post a thread in the For Sale forum tomorrow evening (11/30).

I use Windex all the time to strip Tamiya paints. It works wonders and doesn't hurt the plastic. For particularly difficult stripping I use Easy Off Oven Cleaner, although it's pretty nasty stuff.

And the Enigma side. Note how the low-vis sticker on the leg armor blends into the paint job. I designed them to do this to keep with a true low-vis scheme. If the stickers were opaque they'd stick out too much....
-
I took a few minutes and slapped some stickers from these sets on my FAST Pack armor. Here's the Blue Roses side:

Why was this thread moved from the Toys forum? I'd REALLY like an explanation from whichever moderator is responsible for this, especially since VERY similar threads started by other MW members are left untouched (e.g., those showcasing takatoys stickers, discussing customs, etc). If mine are going to be moved here, all of the others should be, too.

As part of my fundraising efforts to offset the costs involved with fixing my ALPS printer, I've decided to release these sets (and all of my other rare ones, plus the usual ones and some new ones) for general purchase. I will most likely only do this once because I don't want too many of these customs floating around out there--I love the designs too much and I'd like to preserve their uniqueness. Keep an eye out for a thread in the For Sale forum after Thanksgiving. Louis, ChrisB is indeed commissioning 1/48 custom versions of all four valks pictured in this thread. I'll probably be helping him with a few of them. His fleet of customs is legendary....
-
The FP set already has the markings for the TV armor, including the "kite" symbols for the boosters. I don't use the same sticker paper as Takatoys. The kind I use is from another company and is actually a clear vinyl film. Very thin, very flexible, very adhesive.

That will be in a week or two. I am concentrating on finishing up all outstanding orders right now and also putting the finishing touches on a few more sets I will make available for purchase. I decided to count the number of different sets I've made and the total is over 40! Good grief....

hey i want some as well, joint orders? Hey izzyfcuk, no probs man. We could join orders and get this batch of awesome 1/48 decals/stickers for our valkyries and Fps. It beats yamato stock stickers anytime as well as gives a better appearance and new definition to the entire look. Perhaps we could consolidate with alftien on how what he wants and how many he needs. Let me start first 1/48 VF-1S Roy: 3 sets 1/48 VF-1S Max: 1 set 1/48 Fps : 3 sets others 1/72 Blueroses 002 set : 2 set 1/72 Egnima set : 1 set Mind me proposing something, we could probably hold off till the 1/48 VF-1J comes in and when devin finishes designing for them and haves them for order, then we could order all of them at one shot. Then again, i dun wish to overburden Devin, we could order the basic sets first. Then order the 1/48 VF-1J set separately again. Any other takers in this deal? Perhaps toonz will be pretty much interested in them too. Hey Devin, i was wondering what happened to the original thread. Glad i was able to locate it here. Cheers I designed stickers/decals for the VF-1J a long time ago, in anticipation of Yamato releasing one. They come as part of the "Standard Set." You can see the "101" and "VF-1J" markings clearly in this sample pic: This isn't the most recent sample pic. I added a few more VF-1J markings since this one was created....
-
If I start selling these, they will be closer to $20. The 1/48 Minmay Guard sets will be more expensive because they require more ink, paper, and clearcoat to produce.
-
I'm working on it, Louis!

Thought everyone would like to see the latest sets I've completed: Yamato 1/48 Enigma and all three Blue Roses variants. I haven't decided if they will be made available for general purchase yet--they were designed mainly for some custom projects ChristopherB has planned. They are as detailed and proportionally accurate as you can get. Here are the original versions: The following links will take you to the four sets I've created. I could just post the pics here but it might be too much for those of you still on dialup. Enigma Blue Roses 002 Blue Roses 004 Blue Roses 006

Why the heck was this thread moved to the "how to" forum when other custom projects are in the toys section?! This isn't a "how to" thread.... <_< Anyway, for those who want to order this set (and others), I will have them available in a week or two. I am trying to complete all outstanding orders before taking new ones.

My printer arrived yesterday (thank goodness) so I am back in business. Some members wanted to see a 1/48 Minmay Guard prototype and I needed to test out the new printer, so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. I printed out a set of stickers and slapped them on my 1/48 Focker. Not pretty, but you'll get the idea that everything fits properly. Edit: The nosecone fell off while I was taking pictures.... Here's a front view:
-
Why not bump the cost of each sticker or decal sheet up a couple of bucks? With the amount of orders you get, that would probably help a lot and I don't think anyone would complain about helping you out. I thought about that, but I don't want to do it unless I have no other choice. If I do increase the prices, it won't be a big increase. Maybe a buck or two. I am trying to keep my prices down as much as possible so everyone can afford the sets. We already spend enough of our hard-earned money on toys, models, etc. The last thing I want to do is put my work beyond the reach of fellow collectors
-
I am going to hold off on taking orders for this set (and any others) until I get my ALPS printer back from the manufacturer.
-
I personally don't like the Hasegawa production version, but a certain MW member is commissioning me to make a 1/48 set in the near future. I'm not sure if he will want it to be widely available or not. I'll have to ask....
-
You could say that.... A lot of MW members order stickers and decals and the work load was bound to wear out the printer at some point. It's costing me $400 to get it fixed, but it's worth it if I can keep helping Macross fans. I'm still figuring out how I will cover the cost of repairs, though....
-
I'll get some demo/prototype pictures posted once I get my printer back from the ALPS repair facility. I'll print out a set of stickers and slap'em on my 1/48 VF-1S. Should be in about a week. I haven't finished my own Minmay Guard customs just yet. Those are also waiting until my ALPS printer returns....
-
Don't know yet. A ballpark guesstimate would be $35. The 1/48 set takes up a lot of paper, ink, clearcoat, etc....
-
I have some time to kill before I get my ALPS printer back from the repair facility, so I am taking the opportunity to finish up the design work on several sets--among them 1/48 Blue Roses (all three variants), 1/48 Enigma, 1/60 Elint and Ostrich, 1/55 Minmay Guard, and 1/48 Minmay Guard. The Blue Roses, Enigma, and 1/48 MG sets are done and the Elint, Ostrich, and 1/55 MG sets are almost done. Just wanted to share some sample pics of the 1/48 MG set. This wasn't quite as difficult to design as the 1/60 set, but it still took quite some time. The original 1/72 model: And here's the 1/48 set (basic decals will come later):

You can dissolve super glue using something called Z7 Debonder. I use it all the time. It's available at most hobby stores and probably hardware stores, too. I'm sure they aren't the only company making the stuff, though....
