Finally heard from my proxy! The two Super Parts sets that I ordered are now on their way to me via FedEx, shipping from Tokyo to New Mexico. That set me back $52. DHL would have been $55. The proxy lists the size and weight of the package on their site, which is handy: Package Dimensions: 38 x 32 x 16 cm Package Weight: 1752 g

*Still* waiting to be notified by my proxy that they have received my two sets of TV Super Parts. This was the first time that I've used this proxy. I'm willing to wait another day or two before I start bugging them, but since orders are already shipping to MW members from other proxies and sets are already showing up on Mandarake, it might be the last time I use them.
-
They'd probably lower the limit to 4 per account, so you'd have to wait until there's a reissue, place orders through proxies, or start trawling the secondary market to get the two additional ones you need....

In addition to all of the great reasons mentioned above for why the Movie set doesn't include armaments, another that is often mentioned here is cold, hard profit for Bandai. Why include everything a collector needs in one set when you can break it down into multiple smaller sets and sell all of them separately at a premium price? They know we'll buy it all. Bandai has been doing this with Macross and many other lines for a long time. It's actually a pleasant surprise that the red-tipped RMS-1 missiles are included with the TV Super set. Maybe packaging and selling six small pieces of plastic separately is a bridge too far for them.

Quick update for members who were interested in the second run of my DX decal sheet but wanted stickers instead. My new paper arrived and I was able to do a test run yesterday. Results looks good, so I'll be contacting you to finalize orders.

You're thinking of the Yamato armor. You can remove the outer portion of the front sections to reveal the micro missiles loaded inside. There is speculation that the front sections of the Bandai armor might have a similar level of detail, but they are glued shut and to my knowledge no one has been brave/crazy enough to risk destroying their armor to find out. The Movie Super Strike Parts set does not come with armaments. You have to purchase the separate Missile Set. That set is just about as rare as the armor and, like the armor, generally goes for about twice the original retail price. The TV Super Parts set comes with six red-tipped RMS-1 missiles. The ones that come in the Missile Set have yellow tips.

Still planning to get orders shipped out early next week, so you won't have to wait too much longer
-
No word yet from the proxy I used to procure two sets of TV Super Parts. I'm guessing it might take a few days to reach them if they aren't geographically close to wherever Bandai ships from.

If you'd asked me to weigh in on this a year ago, I would have agreed 100%. Given how things have gone in 2020, though, I've moved closer to "PJ's Occasionally" for my perfect job. PJ's every day turned out to be a little too often for me....

All three of those would make me very happy
-
That's a very interesting pattern. If it holds, I'm betting on DYRL Max 1A and Hikaru 1A plus another reissue of the SSP and maybe the Missile Set. The showcasing of not one, but three GBP variants at the latest Tamashii Nations event does give me pause, though. Maybe it will go Max 1A, GBP (with 1J, please!), Hikaru 1A with SSP and Missile Set reissues interspersed.

That makes sense. I usually ship my "won't ship internationally" stuff from AJ to Tenso and then have them ship to me, so my brain went right to it being a domestic delivery estimate, not an international one. HLJ adjusted their estimate about a week ago, from December to January, so it sounds like this is just AJ catching up to everyone else. If Arcadia hasn't said anything publicly, we're probably good. And it makes my wallet happy, too.

Now it's early February? They just got done telling us that it was going to be January. Well, I guess my wallet is safe for another month.

As @no3Ljm mentioned, it will be a Tamashii Web Exclusive (TWE), so big stores like HLJ and AmiAmi won't carry it. You have five options, if you live outside of Japan: Use a proxy service like FromJapan, DeJapan, Big In Japan, or ZenMarket. It's the most affordable option, but also the most complicated. Buy from smaller stores who will likely carry it, like Anime Export, MyKombini, Hobby Genki, or Nippon-Yasan. Be prepared for a markup. You are paying for convenience. In the case of Nippon-Yasan, given the current bad experiences of many board members, you might be paying for nothing except a giant headache. Buy a pre-order on the secondary market (Yahoo Japan/eBay/Amazon Japan) from someone who bought it in Japan. They will send the toy to you after release. This is the riskiest of the options because the toy isn't in hand and you don't necessarily know who you're dealing with. Buy one on the secondary market (YJ/eBay/AJ) after release. Your options increase once the toys are out there, so you can also check reputable stores like Mandarake and Jungle, whose prices are usually pretty reasonable, i.e., fair market value. Note that with rare exception, prices for TWE items go up by a lot after release, so this is often the most expensive option. Just look at the Hayao 1A, Super Strike Parts, and Missile Set. Find or make a friend in Japan and have them buy it for you

Yes, that's true. On an undisclosed number of occasions, I've gone through the motions of purchasing an item at the SAHRA branch so I can get a sense for what shipping might be at other branches. I've generally done that when a non-SAHRA branch has more than one item that I want to buy. Yes, SAHRA does tend to be a bit more expensive, but I've heard that Complex is worse. To your point, the safety margin likely allows SAHRA to offer immediate shipping on items, which is attractive to some customers.

Between the misaligned skull, the non-flush air brake, and the brighter vertical yellow stripe, my eyes are burning. I love Roy, though, and I've wanted this release for a long time, so I'm going to accept him as is. They contact you after you place your order and give you the shipping estimate as part of a total invoice. You used to be able to choose your shipping method, but they might just be offering DHL right now (depending on country). I haven't ordered from them in a while. Every branch does shipping differently, and by that I mean the cost can vary quite a bit for exactly the same item. The most expensive branches to ship from are the ones in and around Tokyo.

The skull is definitely asymmetrical in its design. Not by a lot, but by enough to cause alignment problems if you're not careful, as others have said. I ran into this when I re-drafted the skull for my DX decal sheet (will hopefully have time this afternoon to reply to all of the PMs I've received about it). Something you can't "unsee" on the Roy DX, once you know it's there, is the brighter yellow vertical stripe just behind the air brake flap on the chestplate. At first I thought it was a small defect with my Roy, but I checked my Hikaru 1S and the exact stripe is on it, too, but it's more subtle. I'm betting it's on my Hayao as well, but haven't checked it yet. My best guess is that it's an artifact of how Bandai paints the stripes. Something about the yellow paint, or the color yellow in general, might make it more noticeable on Roy than on the other ones. Click on the picture below to embiggen it and reveal the stripe in all its yellow glory.

It due to your experience and that of several members that I was *very* worried about the Roy PO I had with NNG. I was in the very first round, where I received a 10% discount on MSRP. I started taking snapshots of the listing for Roy on NNG's site on a regular basis, to show that they were continuing to sell it at a steep markup, so I could more solidly make my case to PayPal for a refund on the grounds of false advertising, on top of non-delivery of goods, if they canceled my order and tried to offer me store credit. As release day approached, I took snapshots daily. I then held my breath after release day and the first shipping notices started to go out. I received my shipping notice about 24 hours after release and Roy arrived here four days later. Several others in the first round received their notices as well. Sadly, it looks like there are some in that group who are still waiting. There might not be any kind of logic to how NNG is shipping out orders, and when. Several pages back in this thread, there was a comment about Roy being available enough that stores like NNG, which might have sold units they didn't have, should be able to fill all of their orders by securing stock from other sources. On the bright side, no one has received order cancellation notices. Here's hoping that shipping notices show up soon.

Sorry guys, couldn't resist. This ornament is just too perfect.
-
Several members received that message. Best guess is that they've exhausted the stock that Bandai sent them and have moved on to stock from other stores that they secured, which is taking a bit longer to show up. I was in the first round as well, but ordered only one. Received a FedEx shipping notice within 24 hours of release.

Happy to help. Worst case, the proxies might say they are maxed out, but at least you'll have a much better idea about what your options are.

It might be a gamble if you decide to pass on the second run in favor of trying to snag one from the first run. By the time the first run sets start to show up for sale in the secondary market, your order window for the second run will have closed. With rare exception, TWE (Tamashii Web Exclusive) items like the TV Super Parts become a lot more expensive and hard to obtain after they are released--even with a second run looming. That happened with the Super Strike Parts set. Even after the second run of that set, it's still expensive and hard to obtain. Granted, that set might be more popular than the TV Super Parts set because people are anticipating additional DYRL Skull Squadron releases and bought multiple copies. We don't know how many TV Super Parts sets were made in the first run and since there are probably a lot of people itching to get the set for their Roy and regretting that they didn't place an order during the first run, hence the second run, you might be up against some competition and fairly high prices. Odds are good that you'll pay less if you use a proxy service to get a set from the second run. There are three stores that can act as proxies, but do charge a premium: Anime Export, MyKombini, and Nippon-Yasan. The first is sold out, the second still has the set available (for less than AE), and the third has a terrible reputation right now. Full-up proxies can and do ship to the US as well. Popular options are FromJapan, DeJapan, Big In Japan, Zenmarket, and White Rabbit Express. Each of them will have a cap on the total number of sets they can order, which is imposed by Bandai. If you haven't used a proxy service before, it's pretty easy. You send them the link to the product (https://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000151124/) and they will respond with a quote. They charge a per-item fee which is either flat or a percentage of the item's cost. Shipping is sometimes paid for up front, but generally comes in as a second invoice once the proxy receives your item and you select the method you want to use. Usually cheaper than going through the stores acting as proxies, but you might have to check with a few to see if they can still order the set for you this late in the window. You can also keep an eye on the For Sale forum here. When members order multiples of something and decide they don't want to keep all of them, they usually show up in that forum before moving to sites like eBay.

Much appreciated, @Drad! I love helping out fellow members when I can. I just posted a thread in the For Sale forum so this thread doesn't get clogged up with decal discussions: I read through the last half dozen or so pages and I think this is a complete list of the members that have expressed interest so far: @Lolicon @Checkmate @Angesdad @Alan Molina @rdrunner @Sayroll @dafob @mechaninac I'll be sending each of you a PM. If others are interested, please PM me.
