Someone should make a 4koma about Macross/Transformers.

I think the destroids went down the wrong path. Fixed gun placements are fine for point defense, but to have real manueverability they would need something close to VOTOMS or Heavy Gear piloted mecha. Smaller mechs are also much better for urban combat, which surprisingly there is very little in the Macross Universe. My best guess is that in the next Macross, Shoji Kawamori is going to rectify that with true bipedal combat mechs, similar to Armored Core or Front Mission. It really bugged me that the destroids were such one trick ponies. They were basically walking missile racks and not much else.

They made a mecha out of a search-light? That defeats the purpose of giant robots.

I dont get why people dont like the SV-51 Nora, I just got mine and its bad-ass. Hell, I would go as far to say its a better design than the VF-0 . I admit though that I never liked the F-14, and had more inclination towards the SU-27.

One of the things I always disliked for the VF-1's was the lack of the side covers. I never felt that the VF-1 was complete without them. It just seemed weird to see the figure from the sides.

I hated Gasaraki because of that. An otherwise interesting story ruined by faux mysticism. The same happened with Macross Zero.

For the most part, new Macross series's arent for kids. Since M+, I don't think there has been anything to indicate it's targeted to anyone other than adults. As for Robotech, its targeted to the kid at heart. Which means lots of toys and impossibly busty women.

The holiday sale did have Yamato Macross stuff. I got an SV-51 for half off and free shipping.

Did Carl Macek work on "Battle Beyond the Stars " ? Cause that video sounds as bad as that movie looked.

Robotech fans can care less about the licensing issues. But imagine if Robotech was in the same situation as Macross, would you not be angry too? Like Seto said, most people here don't have a problem with Robotech, they have major problems with Harmony Gold, not only for keeping Macross products out (especially Macross toys) but also mishandling Robotech like some kind of retarded ape. Just look at RT , its been 5 years since the last animation, and it will probably 5 more years till the next. And the delays have done nothing to make the new animations any better, especially when compared to Macross.

But there are more normal people who like the Doc and ST than there are the super nerds. HG is trying to foster more super-nerds by turning them into Knights of Robotech.
