  1. Cheap as in inexpensive, or cheap as in the quality of the limited edition Stealth Veritech?
  2. The fighters look more like G1 Jetfire.
  3. I do believe Geneon still exists, its just its international subsidiaries that were closed down.
  4. Looks like Harmony Gold found their next Robotech series! Has this been posted to rt.com yet?
  5. DBZ was really what made Japanese animation take off in the USA. Robotech, on the other hand, got superseded by Akira and the various hard sci-fi shows like VOTOMS and Starship Troopers. Robotech was sort of where pulp science fiction books were prior to the 30's, while the newer shows brought more mature themes that you can trace to 1960's science fiction.
  6. ScyFy original movies at least have the charm of being goofy and cheesey (Like Megashark vs Giant octopus, or whatever it was called, and the one about Nazi gargoyles). RTSC had no redeemable qualities, mixing 1980's mecha design with 1990's (television quality) CG. I couldn't contain my laughter from seeing the terrible CG of the first 10 minutes or so. At least ScyFy originals try to harken back to the hay-day of monster movies. RTSC harkens back to CD-I Zelda and Mario.
  7. Technically, a manga would be considered a graphic novel.
  8. Option 3: Failure is the only option.
  9. I would just use a pin or a pencil.
  10. the VF100 toys were pretty unpopular due to high cost and loads of partsforming. Other than that and the fact that the line is discontinued, I don't think there are any major problems with the toy.
  11. Now that Bandai is making the VF Hi-metal line , I think Toynami's 1/100 stuff will be seen for the shoddy workmanship very clearly.
  12. Hotdog is my copilot.
  13. Gubaba, that should be 1985. Whats all this talk about 1982? Nothing of interest came out that year.
  14. This is the most concise reason why there is so much friction. HG, a real-estate broker and C movie distributor is keeping a genuine piece of entertainment (two ,including Mechwarrior 5) from the hands of people who really want it. Ill say that if Toynami had to compete against Yamato, it would be utterly destroyed. Though, I would say that the licensing issues around Mac7 are a lot more complicated due to having the music rights separate from the TV rights.
  15. Im not sure how much easier they could be. You take the panels off the wings and then slot the boosters into them. Are you having problems with keeping them on the wings?
  16. if you want to seal the cabinet tight, you can use foam tape.
  17. It doesn't help that Roy Scheider is also dead.
  18. They're not really more agile. They move as you would expect something weighing several tons. That's why most of the Gears have wheels/tracks on their feet.
  19. More likely they saw VOTOMS when the "walking tank" description was added and were late to the party when Heavy Gear came out.
  20. That doesn't explain the egg shaped abominations or walking boxes.
  21. Wow, those Japanese mechs look much better drawn. Like really better. One thing I hated about the designs in BT was that it looked like someone with about a months worth of drafting coursework did the art.
  22. On my Nora, the hinge that connects the wing to the hinged fuselage part is lose. I discovered that there is only one screw bolting that point together, and when you flex the joint, the two halves start to separate. I used some glue on one,of the sections but it didn't do anything about the looseness of that hinge, and Im having problems gluing the other one. I just bought a small philips head to tighten it, but I suspect that the hinges may have actually been displaced. Anyone have similar problems?
  23. Shipping is more expensive from AmiAmi though. They only take SAL registered and EMS. SAL Registered is normal SAL +700 yen for tracking.
  24. Figma's will never pierce the heavens with their drills.
  25. I was lucky enough that my mom threw out all my Spider-Man Clone Saga comics. In hindsight, it was just a total waste of paper.
