Actually Totoro, the art of volumes I & II from the VHS edition, it's featured on the LD edition as well. Only difference, is that the cover for volume II (VHS) it's featured on the back on the LD vol I, and the cover for the volume I (VHS) it's features in an insert on LD volume I. 344467 Sweet, looks like I'll have to track down the LD versions now Thanks for the info, both of you!

This is Animation Series : DYRL Bootleg?
Totoro242 replied to jeffbogard's topic in Movies and TV Series
As far as I know its never been bootlegged. There was a re-issue in 1992 and you can see if you have an original by looking at the dust jacket. The re-issue was 1,200 yen and featured on the inside cover adds for the DYRL LD and VHS Perfect Edition (in the back) and the Macross II, DYRL, and Macross TV novelizations; This is Animation 3, 5, 7 Macross TV re-issues (unnumbered); TIA Illustration portfollio; and the Macross DYRL Gold Book priced at 9,900 yen (in the front cover). -

Thanks Totoro242 Now, here the images, but here are some weird facts. I find This LD in Compedium, but only the Catalog Number (BEAL-37) . Here Egan Loo list "Macross Minmay Special", NOT this disc!!! I dont know why, maybe is a confussion, maybe is a mistake, maybe the info of Bandai Visual is weird. But, my LD is original, and is a mistery why Egan Loo in the compedium not list this LD (first) and the serial number of this disc, is for other title (second and maybe we arrive in the twilight zone ) See the photos. Im very sorry for the quality, but, I dont have a Digital Camera, this photos i take with my cel. If everybody is interested, the next monday in my office I scan this Ld for a much better resolution. 344118 These pictures are definately sufficient Do you have the first two on LD? Is the art different from the VHS releease?

Ok, this LD is a type of "macross Special" This Disc contain 2 episodes en CAV, The episodes are "pinneaple salad" and "Aiwa nagareru" This disc is really rare because is the only version of pinneaple Salad in CAV, for instance in the 15 aniv box set, this episode is in CLV, in other words... cannot paused the video an see it frame by frame. But in this disc.. you can I dont remember the title of this disc but tonight in my house, Im cheking and upload some images tomorrow And... about the price... I dont know but IMHO... this disc maybe cost... 20 USD.. but 50???? 344024 Shaloom, awesome job! I went to the Macross Compendium and they don't even list it there, only Macross Special and Lynn Minmei Special. I have both of those on VHS, so it will be cool to get the third one

Show off your coolest non-Macross toys & models
Totoro242 replied to danth's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hiya! THAT little dude is the Gakken 1/20 scale diecast Ride Armor. No articulation to speak of except in the arms, head and knees. Still nice for a display piece. According to the box art, there's 2 more in the series, I think, the other 'standard' suit and the Fuuke-type. Bought it in HK back in '02. Here's a closer shot next to the 1/20 scale 'Studio Nue original design' Powered Suits by Kaiyodo: 343998 Unfortunately, as far as anyone knows, the Blowsuperior and Fuke type were never released. No one has ever seen one- 80 replies

That's the DYRL preview book: http://macross.anime.net/production/print/...love/index.html (first one listed) 343767 DYRL Preview Book Here is a picture of the DYRL Preview Book and they are quite different. Its possible that the picture I posted is of an early working cover which was later changed to the one we now know... Can anyone translate the text?

Yes, saw it a month ago in Denver and was blown away. A word of warning, the costumes and sets are very artsy. Fortunately they pulled it all off without being pretentious. Great movie.

The question is, if it was Macross, would people here be all over it? 343647 Yes

It's also overpriced. Those little ARII 1/170 kits are really crappy, the figures are out of scale, and I think I've seen the base used for other anime/sci-fi model series. I couldn't see it seriously going for more than $80 and thats only for completists.

This was up on the board before. Its some sort of Korean cartoon to push one of the Takatoku Valk bootlegs.

Yeah... this is a scan from an eBay auction, so thats as good as it gets. I was hoping someone would recognise it.

Ever come across Macross stuff online or in anime magazines that you have never seen before? I sure do, usually ona weekly basis. Since this is Macross World and home to all the Macross collecting experts, I thought I'd start a thread for all those mysterious items that need identifying. I'll kick it off with this mysterious Laser Disc. I know its not a 15th Anniversary TV series LD and I can't read Japanese, can someone identify it for me?

You can always find the Dorvak or Orguss version too

My characters are Ohgr and Blaargh. What server does everyone play COH on? I play on Guardian.

http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models.../hbue25-box.jpg Nichimo actually came up with this color scheme. The ARII paint scheme was basically the same as the Hikaru 1J GBP Armored Valkyrie. I always wondered what inspired Nichimo and Yoshiyuki Takani to create these unique color schemes. The VF1J Max and VF1J Millia for example have a red and blue stripe on the wings respectively. They also came up with unique GBP armor for both of them and the VF1S. I guess it was just a way to sell the same model mold many ways

1. Macross Leather Jacket 2. IMAI 1/100 Tomahawk model, DYRL box 3. Macross Arcadia video game 4. Almost anything on page 117 and 118 of TIA #3 Macross 5. Yamato 1/48 VF1A Mastercard editon To me, most of the stuff already named is cool, expensive, and much sought after, but to me, the Holy Grails are the productions stuff that you only see in magazines or once on eBay and spend years trying to find. And usually don't find I would not put prototypes, artwork, or animation cels in this catagory. Oh, and your nickname is not offensive to me, SaveRobotech.

Macrossworld As Your Start-Up Page?
Totoro242 replied to Jin_Kune_Do's topic in Movies and TV Series
There was a time, long ago, when I was much more active on these forums and I had it as my IE home page. Now I have my personal website page as my IE home page. -
This is original Japanese art. I have seen it as a Mospeada poster and later it was re-released by Harmony Gold as a promo poster and by Comico as a full sized poster. The Japanese poster is basically the same, though I can't remember exactly where I saw it. It was also used on the cover of Magazine for Anime and Hobby Fan: Mospeada No. 2. That cover is the only place to see the full picture with Rook and Yellow in the bottom left corner. Magazine For Anime and Hobby Fans No 2 330416 Okay, it was bothering me that I couldn't remember where I saw the Mospeada poster of this, but I looked where I thought I saw it and it was in the Yahoo Japan Auctions thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...hl=poster&st=20 The picture was already cropped when HG used it as a poster. The Magazine for Anime and Hobby Fan: Mospeada No. 2 is the only place to find the full picture.

Majestic, you should check out a band called Destroid. I first checked them out because of the name and they turned out to be a realy good Industrial/Synth-Pop band. I did a post on them here :http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=13238

Yeah good luck with that. I'm sure you won't get what its worth. There is only one agency I have ever found that will cover my collection: http://www.collectinsure.com/ Since there are no price guides for our types of collectibles, they will insure any collectible based on the value you assign it: From their FAQ http://www.collectinsure.com/faq.htm Q. How do I determine the replacement value of a unique collectible? A. You estimate the auction realization of the item if were auction off to a room filled with specialist collectors and dealers of this type collectible. We would get expert opinions from dealers and other experts on what this item would realize if it were auction to such an audience. Experts in our hobby might be Shawn, Graham, Egan, Rob, or Noel. Oh, and if you use Paypal, they keep a full record of all transactions you have ever made. That would be enough to cover here: Q. How do you know I own the collectibles I claim are lost? A. Yes, it is your responsibility to prove your loss. We have found that if you acquired some of your collectible property from dealers, auctions or similar sources you can provide proof of a reasonable sample of your purchases. A sample is what we require, not complete documentation of every purchase or acquisition. Probably our biggest advantage over other insurance providers is that since we have over 30 years experience in this specialized business, we have a good sense when additional documentation is needed to prove a loss.
