  1. I wouldn't go that far. The 1/60 VF-1 line is great, but not perfect. The same could be said for the 1/48 line, but once I broke out a 1/48 from it's box...I was a changed man. When they announced the 1/48 I had a hard time being excited. I felt like I'd potentially invested my money in an inferior product and I felt like my well-loved 1/60 line was coming to an abrupt end. I still think the 1/60s are cool, and I display them proudly. But if they release every single one in 1/48...chances are I'll get those too and prefer them to the 1/60 versions. I no longer feel "had," but if I had it to do over again, I might not have bought so many 1/60s.
  2. My second low-vis arrived in the mail yesterday. I really dig that gummi pilot. He's awesome lookin'. I'm hoping to customize the Valk a bit.
  3. Whiskey's at it again. Givin' the uninformed hell.
  4. Chunky Monkeys: Never had 'em...never will.
  5. That "Virgin Road" VF-1D photo wasn't loading.
  6. Unless they take a page out of Hasegawa's book and make the Max/Millia "Virgin Road" VF-1D. I'd be one of the 5 people to buy that one! And they could do an Angel Birds VF-1D. I don't know that we've ever seen one before, but most flight demonstration teams that have single seat aircraft have a two-seater variant around for liason missions.
  7. If they keep cranking out 1/48 Valks, I think it would be a mistake not to (unless they make bundling them with the Valk like the 1J Hikaru a trend).
  8. VF-1J VF-1A (TV type)
  9. I imagine it'll be a while, but I wouldn't put it past Yamato (once they've done everything they want for the DYRL and SDF Macross TV releases).
  10. Me too, but do you think they'll continue to produce it as is? What are the chances of releasing the TV fast packs on their own? If they make a 1/48 Max/Millia the blue/red fast packs will probably be bundled. I doubt there would be a demand for those as a seperate release. But everybody seems to want the Hikaru packs for their low-vis.
  11. LOL!
  12. Ever see Dead Poets' Society?
  13. I don't get it. Why is everyone around here all over the newbs? Is it because he's yet to be de-Harmonized?
  14. Yeah, that's me too. And don't give me that degradation crap. My Valks will last forever in their special plastic cocoons.
  15. But you can't give it back it's virginity just by putting it back in the box.
  16. I don't see going from 1/72 to 1/60 as a significant enough jump in scale to necessitate another line of Macross Plus Valks. I see the attraction of keeping new products in the same scale as previously released successes, but I wouldn't be surprised (if they decided not to attempt a 1/48) if they did something in a new scale altogether.
  17. The sticker sheet for the initial release of the 1/48 VF-1A Hikaru and VF-1S Roy does have stickers for 012 (Kakizaki). In case you didn't know, in the Macross TV series, Kakizaki's VF-1A was much like the standard cannon fodder, but with more white/light gray. The DYRL Kakizaki paint scheme is the same of the others, but it's green instead of red, blue, or yellow. Oh, and the 1/48 fast packs also have the green skull emblem for the side of the engine/missle launcher.
  18. My first Valks were the Macross Plus (1/72) from Yamato. When I saw the VF-1 (1/60) preview pics, I about lost my mind. I went mad for the 1/60 line. When I heard about the 1/48 VF-1A, it was sort of a bittersweet thing for me. When it started to become apparent that they were making more and more 1/48 Valks I felt, like a lot of people, that I'd wasted my time and money on an inferior line. I got over that. I still enjoy the 1/60, and my addiction to it probably went a long way to funding the development of the 1/48. Now that I've picked up a few 1/48, I'm hooked...again. After Yamato releases a 1/48 VE-1 and announces a 1/32 VF-1A Hikaru, I'm getting a second mortgage on the house.
  19. Hey Tak, I sent an email a few days ago. I know you're busy right now, I was just wondering if you'd received it. Thanks. [Edit] Got your email. Thanks!
  20. I'm thinkin' if they do release a Kakizaki 1A, it'll be limited release...and then based on that, who knows. Stickers alone don't mean they'll release one (I seem to remember some Kakizaki stickers for the 1/60), but I'd definitely pick one up if they made it. If they can release a cannon fodder, they can release a dead guy who's not Roy. I've noticed a lot more people who are excited about this in the GBP thread than have said "I'll wait for the 1/48." Some folks will wait, some folks will get both. Some folks are happy with the 1/60. I'm sure it won't break Yamato if they're 1/60 doesn't sell well, and I'm sure they would pick up on the fact that some folks are holding out for a 1/48 version. For the record, I'd be all over 1/48 Macross Plus and/or Macross Zero Valks, but it may just be a pipe dream. Like the 1/60, I think 1/48 VF-1D, VT-1, and VE-1 would be towards the end of the list to get made...but I don't think you're going to get any definite answers here. I think the enthusiasm for the 1/48 is undeniable and I think it is possible, if not 100% likely. I'd bet good money we'll see Max/Millia VF-1Js though.
  21. Yeah, I noticed that the shipping was almost as much as the toy. I don't know what that's about. I think either version would be cool, but I much prefer the darker blue. I think I'd rather have a 1/1 scale bird-a-rang than a glob of translucent orange plastic though.
  22. Ya know, I didn't think to ask until I saw the picture of the FP version of the 1J at HLJ, but it looks like the VF-1J with fast packs will also have the AMM-1s and UUM-7s in addition to the RMS-1s...as it should be.
  23. When I do that my wife just raises an eyebrow and says "No!"
