Agreed. This is why I have a couple of exquisite airbrushes. I actually have three, 2 Paasche H series single action brushes, and a Paasche VL series double action brush. They are fantastic tools. I paid about $75 for my VL, which is not bad considering that there are more expensive brushes out there that don't have an appreciable difference in function.

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Valkyrie Driver replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
Unfortunately we don't even know what caliber the VF-19's gun pod is. My best guess is around a 40-50mm gun, considering that the 58mm gun that the VF-19EF was used to test require the airframe to be reinforced to handle the recoil stresses. The reason I bring it up, is because that will have a considerable effect on ammo capacity. -

Robotech and REMIX by Titan Comics
Valkyrie Driver replied to Old_Nash's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If I may, what is/are your source(s)? Not that I don't believe you, your response sounds too well researched to be malarkey, but I'd like to read for myself. Still though, if it hadn't been for BattleTech, and the unseen, I probably wouldn't be here right now. Not saying that HG had anything to do with the creative process, but it is their product, so I'd think that they'd want some say in how it treats their IP. But then this is HG we're talking about so I guess that's not surprising. I mean, that's fair enough.- 1934 replies

Snap, you're right. It's official, the whole thing must be crap. Animation errors I can understand, but illustration errors? C'mon...- 1934 replies

Ok. So since most of the stuff I ordered is acrylic, I can expect a 2-4 week wait until it ships? But could also be sooner, depending on what you have on hand?

I'm sorry to hear that. @Mommar it really sucks when things like that happen. Do you have renters insurance? Is it covered?

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Valkyrie Driver replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
I'm fully on board with dropping PMC's. The reality is that Macross's over the top portrayal is an exaggeration, but typically PMC's tend to look for individuals that are anti authority. They tend to recruit from special operations forces (SeALs, Delta, Army SF, Force Recon, CCT's, etc), which are units that typically allow for individuality and personal initiative. That means they don't play well with rigid hierarchies. That said, Aviation has some strict rules, but it generally has a more relaxed atmosphere since creativity and unorthodox thought are required for unpredictability. -
Robotech and REMIX by Titan Comics
Valkyrie Driver replied to Old_Nash's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Actually, considering that FASA's intent was to only use the images, and that any merchandising would be for the property that FASA created. BW, as the owner of the images and property, would have been the correct partner. Also, Considering that FASA didn't just use art from Macross in official publications, instead using their own illustrators. Anyway, I'll not derail the thread further. Yep. That face does not correlate to the situation.- 1934 replies

Robotech and REMIX by Titan Comics
Valkyrie Driver replied to Old_Nash's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Actually from what I've read, FASA negotiated with Big West to use the designs from Macross. I don't know about the Stuff from FOTS Dougram or Crusher Joe. Now, granted FASA is defunct, and Catalyst licenses from Wizkids but still. But this is perhaps not the place for that discussion. I mean, the edgy reboot hasn't worked for original works so far, why would HGUSA think it would work for them?- 1934 replies

Robotech and REMIX by Titan Comics
Valkyrie Driver replied to Old_Nash's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ugh. This is just so awful. Well, What should I expect from HG? They're desperately trying to establish a new main product, since in only a few short years, their rights to Macross will revert back to Tatsunoko and I doubt that Big West will allow Tatsunoko to renegotiate with HG, not that Tatsunoko will likely want to. Hopefully this will become the new main product for HG's robotech, and people will see HG for the steaming pile that they are. I also wonder what the Tatsunoko case will mean for Catalyst Game Labs bringing back the Unseen for BattleTech...- 1934 replies

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!

Well, then the UN Spacy does things a little bit differently. Under the US Tri service Aircraft designation system, the YF-30 would be classed as an experimental craft, while Y is for limited production prototypes that are used during Testing and Evaluation. The YF-30 is more akin to the purpose built NASA X-planes designed to test new equipment and construction technologies (like the X-29, X-34, X-36, X-43, and to an extent the X-53). I would have also thought that SMS would have worked on the improved fold technologies hand in hand with the federal NUNS forces. Similarly to how it works in the US. Company develops an Idea, patents it to protect their hold on the tech, but the government can partner with the company to utilize the technology by purchasing from the company, and refining the technology. Then private entities must license the technology from the patent holder. -
I too am a bit unhappy with the Choice of plastic for the Canopy on the VF-31. I mean I know that mirage is in there, but I want to actually see the pilot figures in fighter mode. Though I did leave the opaque canopy on my Sv-262, but that's to be anime accurate...

Overall I'm really happy with my Sv-262. I'm really glad I decided to get the Parts to go with it, even if they don't really add that much. I was happy to have the Missile pods, sword, and solid shield. The LillDrakens were not the primary reason I got them, but they do complete the toy so I'm happy.

I have the Yamato Tomahawk, and I really love it. The only HMR Valkyrie I really want is the VF-1J GBP, because I have had so many other VF-1 toys. The Destroids and the Baddies are the only real reason I want to get any HMR's. Also, here's a picture of Mirage looking sharp with that crisp salute:

Excellent. I'm probably going to order more of these over time, so I'll be able to display my Yamato Valks. For now I have Shelves on the way, so I can display other stuff in a satisfactory manner.
