Look at what the post office found this morning: So, the post office lost it, and said they delivered it, this was about a week ago. I called them and complained, because who wouldn't. Then they found it this morning, and the supervisor put it on his desk for me to pick up. Then it goes missing when I get there, only to find out it had been taken to my address. The Post office here is crap.

The arcadia is actually just a reissue of the yamato v2.1. They fixed the shoulders (the v2.0 had a splined rod that tended to crack the hinge), they got rid of the rainbow tinting on the canopy which tended to peel off, and the widened the notch on the panel that attaches the swing bar to the nose in battroid mode. The V2.0 had a narrow notch that required some fiddling, on the V2.1 they made the notch wide enough to pass over the whole hinge. Minor tweaks, that made the transformation easier, and improved the durability of the toy. I have a v2.0 VF-1S Super/Strike Focker, I have had no issues, but there is some scuffing on the tint. That's why it's a v2.1 instead of a v3... Arcadia may have done some other things that I don't know about, but those were the big ones that came to mind.

The one that keeps coming off is one to the left of the head (looking down, nose forward). It only does it when I move the arm into position in gerwalk/battroid or when I move it back to go to fighter mode, other than that it stays pretty secure. I got the F because Aesthetically it's the closest to the YF-19, save for the P's Canards and wings. Thanks. I'm pretty happy with it. I love my 11 Charlie. Now I've got the CF and one of the Hero Mechs from M7.

What is your Most Favored toy in your collection?
Valkyrie Driver replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Toys
I love all of my Collection, it's macross mostly, because they're the most fun. I'm quickly running out of shelf space... -
If there is one downfall to my VF-19F, it's the color. Shiny Blue isn't a good color scheme for a combat fighter... I got it because it's just like my YF-19, but with all the problems taken out. and granted it's a bit different, but overall it satisfies my desire for a good transforming Y/VF-19. I'm happy with my collection.

Agreed, I love these dioramas. I wish I had time to work on them, so much other stuff to do...

I couldn't do that, in good conscience, it's broken, and the plastic has become brittle (I don't know how, but the backpack broke off during the course of transformation). It probably wouldn't survive the trip. It does hold a bit of nostalgia for me, it was my first Yamato toy. I suggest picking up one of the new arcadia VF-1's they're an improvement over the version 2 which was worlds better than the version 1. I promise you'll be more pleased with the Arcadia. As a matter of fact Arcadia is releasing a VF-1J with the armor set in May, that Hobby Link Japan has listed for 21,420 yen (about 176.74 USD, or 166.43 EUR). Which is a fantastic deal if you ask me...

You know, I really like tomahawks and combat knives, and bayonets. Having them on a Mech is just cool. Still though, I have a hard time imagining VF's using them.

So we have a least favorite thread, I thought I'd kick of a most favorite thread. I'll go first, as of this afternoon, my yamato VF-19F. The joints are nice and stiff, the transformations lock in place, it's infinitely playable. I love it. It's line art compliant, and looks good without the anime magic pieces. So what's your favorite?

I have a spare piece of plywood, left over from my gaming table project, that I could easily turn into a strip of flattop for this purpose...

OK, so the EX should be fine. I watched a few reviews before I purchased and asked this forum for advice. All were really helpful in making my decision. So it's the CF version that you were talking about specifically?

Here's a burning question. Is the shield now characteristic of advanced variable fighter designs? I have to admit I'm torn on the shield, I want to hate it, because of my background, but at the same time it's well integrated into the designs. Also, the addition of the Knife, seems a bit too much like FMP! to me, but then I kinda like it at the same time for that very reason... Anyone else with me?

Macross Δ (Delta) - announcement thread
Valkyrie Driver replied to renegadeleader1's topic in Movies and TV Series
One thing I liked about all of the Macross series, save frontier (which I liked for other reasons), is that even though the Pilots were (typically) young, they were still professional soldiers. In frontier they were high school students by day, and fighter pilots after school. That bugged me. I'd like to see a return to that image. I'd like to see some darker and more serious moments, with some lighthearted comedy sprinkled in. I do not really want to see any moe, and would rather see naivete expressed through dialogue and behavior, rather than through a caricature of cuteness...- 2715 replies

Kinda cool that 1/100 scale is getting a bit of a renaissance... I do like my VF-19S Hi metal despite its flaws...

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Valkyrie Driver replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's probably a bit childish, but I'm watching Fairy Tail... Not everything you watch has too be deep and philosophical... I get enough of that in my philosophy classes (I dream in C++, with references to Hegel, Marx, and Kierkegaard... figure that one out...).
