  1. My VF-25F renewal. I like the pose...
  2. Here's another 19 pose Falcon...PUNCH!!!!
  3. Rule of cool makes it possible though. I wish I had a YF-30 toy. It is pretty cool, and would be a great addition to my Frontier Valk display.
  4. I agree with this. If they change things up, it will distance it from Macross, and the maybe robotech will die... I'm not serious of course, but I mention Macross, to most people, and they recognize it once I bring up robotech. I then give them all the Macross videos I have, hoping that they'll see that Macross is so much better, which usually ends up true. Wow, that'd kind of suck.
  5. If I'm right about reaction engines, they might work a lot like modern low bypass turbofans. Which would help with cooling, since the cold bypass air is forced around the hot engine. That wouldn't so much be the case in space, but in space the engines bleed drive plasma as exhaust.
  6. I like the music from M+, M7, and Macross Frontier. But I have to say, that AC/DC or knife party, might be a better fit for some the fight scenes. The Earth Rocker album from Clutch would be pretty good for fight scenes.
  7. I like it.
  8. That's about what I expected. The VF-19 is just so big compared to the VF-25, and VF-171.
  9. Good point Mommar, I have a plan for a display case when I get one, I'll be splitting them up by era, Zero valks on one shelf, SDFM Mechs on another, M+/M7 mechs on another, and then the frontier valks. The blue and white is very striking, I will admit, and the M+/M7 era is where most of my valks are from (4 of them), so they will likely be the centerpoint of my display. I can't shake the elegance of the frontier valks though, they're so slim and lithe, but they look deadly at the same time. I'm not going to lie, I'm trying to figure out which is my favorite.
  10. The max thrust isn't the only thing to worry about, the engines dimensions might be bigger, or smaller than the original, so you have to take that into account.
  11. Ah, ok. I guess I missed that part.
  12. So the VF-19 is really relegated the role of hero mech, being high performance and having the better performance, while the VF-171 is the better option for a main VF? So the VF-19 is more akin to the F-16/F-18 where both were designed with negative static stability, and need computers to keep them from departing controlled flight, where as the VF-171 is more akin to the F-15, where it is statically stable, requires less computerization, and can be operated more easily? Or in other words, a sports car vs an F1 car? The VF-19 isn't an airplane, it's several thousand parts flying in an unstable formation, and the only thing it wants to do after rolling off the line, is kill you...
  13. So, I'm going to admit I didn't read this thread from the beginning, but here's my thoughts. Why don't they do a completely new story, use some established mecha, maybe set, say, between SDFM and M+, with completely new characters. Make a new production that way they don't have to try and cram 36 episodes of content into 2-3 hours, and they can have a bit of license to do their own thing with the story? In other words, a stand alone production within the franchise?
  14. 9 plus a destroid in 1/60th scale, and 3 1/100's (VF-19S himetal, and 2 Toynami VF-1's). so 13 Macross toys as of now. I need to get a display case to maximize my space. And now that I count it up, It upsets me. I need another Valk, having an odd number will drive me bonkers. That's a good point. I really wish I could get my hands on the Bandai VF-19 Advanced, that would be a great addition to my collection, as it would give me the Y/VF-19 toy I've always wanted (except for the arcadia) without breaking the bank. I do have some stuff I'm trying to get rid of (not Macross) to free up some cash flow. I have a surplus store sitting in my living room right now.
  15. Interesting Valk design.
  16. Awesome work.
  17. I agree that Sheryl is a bit, I don't want to say slurmty, as she's not implied to be promiscuous, but she is highly sexualized, and she's not afraid to show off, and she's a tease. As for More petite women, I'm 6'3", 6'4" if I stand tall, and I'm about 3(minus some inches) ft wide at the shoulders, most women are small to me (at least the ones that are well proportioned). But I like Sheryl's personality, she's vibrant, mischievous, honest, and caring (you gotta dig a little to find her beauty). She'd be hell as a girlfriend, she'd drive me nuts, but at the end of the day you'd know how she felt and that's the important part.
  18. I was pretty proud of that one.
  19. I have all three, that's the thing, I can't decide which to display most prominently in my collection, seeing as I have limited space and so many valks...
  20. I agree that the FSW is pretty cool, and the way the battroid mode looks is just heroic. I guess it just seems weird since the VF-19 is so much bigger than the VF-25, and it think the huge pauldrons on the VF-19F/S bug me. I only have the Yamato v1 YF-19, which isn't terrible, but it's no arcadia, or VF-19F.
  21. So, my recent toy purchases have me in somewhat of a quandry. I can't seem to decide which valk is my favorite in my collection. Right now, it's between the Y/VF-19, the VF-171, and the VF-25F. So here's why: The Y/VF-19 has been my favorite valk for a long time but I'll focus on my VF-19F because it's a better toy. As a toy it's very close to the VF-19 aesthetically, but better. However, when compared to the frontier era valks it seems large and bulbous. I've always been a fan of the VF-17 series, so naturally I love the VF-171. The VF-25 is unique, since it is both familiar to many of its predecessors, and different from all of them. That's why I like it. I can't make up my mind as to which is the coolest. What do y'all think?
  22. Bear in mind that you might have to redesign the entire airframe around that engine. Aircraft aren't quite the same as automobiles, you can't just rip out the old engine and put in a new one. There are air frame considerations. Just as in the real world, I expect it is the same in macross, simply because we would continue building aircraft in much the same manner as we do now.
