  1. I would think that 2 is an atmospheric version, though I'm not entirely sure what 1 is supposed to be. You said it was obvious, but not to me...
  2. The long hose helps too. Especially since I'll be using the coil hose too.
  3. I just looked him up, and damn that's one expensive dude!
  4. So begging the question, How many missiles do the CFT/CWB hold on the 1st Gen VF-19 packs? and assuming the 180 missile figure is correct, the would be 180+? for a total of how many missiles? I really like the idea of the Frontier style Strike parts, especially on the VF-19Advance, because missiles alone are not enough, sometimes you just need bigger guns...
  5. I could not imagine having that many daughters... Dealing with all the boyfriends would be a nightmare...
  6. The problem with this is, the tooling probably no longer exists to make the F-16XL, and it lost out to the F-15E. Also, the F-16 is still in production for the export market, we could simply buy F-16E/F models that are being built for export. Boeing still has the tooling for F-15's so it wouldn't be too much issue to crank up the lines and make more F-15's. And if we need to supplement the F-22 we can buy the F-15SE, and then we have some stealthy fighters to go with our stealth fighters. News about the F-35, it's too heavy, so it's underpowered. The thing can't dogfight as well as the F-16, which it's supposed to replace. Hmm...
  7. I'm watching through Space Battleship Yamato 2199 again. I've got Dougram, VOTOMS, Crusher Joe, and Mospeada in the que.
  8. The hobby store I work at actually has a couple models from the series, and we can get many of the others through Bluefin. I really want one of the Yamato kits.
  9. Are there any english versions of those novels? I'd love to be able to read them.
  10. I'd personally love to see more Max and Milia. I don't remember, did they kiss and make up in 7?
  11. I'd be interested in seeing what a strike version of the Frontier boosters look like.
  12. Does anyone have a Fold booster they can plop on top?, I'd love to see how this pretty girl looks all decked out.
  13. I'd do this, but I hate painting cockpits, so yeah, I'll leave mine alone... You did an outstanding job though well done.
  14. Yeah. As cool as it would be to see where that storyline would go, I'd like to see something new. Maybe save that for some OVA's.
  15. I think it's a case of bad animation, it's clearly supposed to be a VF-1A in GBP-1 armor. There's so much going on in that picture, and it was a brief section of animation, as background, so not as much attention was paid to it. I think that's a safe assumption.
  16. Ok, Now I think I understand. Personally I loved the old Unseen stuff, that is all the designs borrowed from anime. The Stinger (based on the VF-1A, for those unfamiliar) and the Warhammer (Based on the Tomahawk Destroid) were and are two of my favorite designs. I do like some of the original designs that FASA came up with but not as much as the Iconic designs that were borrowed from Macross. The games that Battletech has become, both the tabletop game and the RPG, are actually quite fun, and the universe is fun to explore. I never knew it when it was Battledroids, so I can't speak to the quality of that game. I only know Battletech which isn't bad, though some of the new designs they have done are kind of bad. Even though I've been a battletech fan much longer than I have been a Macross fan, I still recognize that Battletech was an outgrowth from the Japanese Real Robot mecha genre. Even though it's connected in the real world, it's a completely separate entity now, and I treat it as such. The people saying that it's completely original are ignoring the franchise's genesis, and are deluding themselves. The Designs they are using now are "Original" in that we haven't seen the elements combined in that way before. If I could find a VF-1A (in all three modes) that scales with Battletech minis I'd have them because I love the Stinger LAM. Every fanbase is going to have those obnoxious idiots. After all, we watch anime, we must be obsessive Japanophiles that live in our parents basements right? I can tell you I don't fit that stereotype, and I'm pretty sure that most of you don't fit it either. Anyway, Battletech led to my (and many others) discovery of Macross, so it can't be all bad right?
  17. I don't know what episode that screengrab is from. I saw it in the Sightgag thread on the Movies and TV subforum. I like most of you never noticed it either, only after is was pointed out while they were discussing the various shout outs featured in the picture.
  18. Lower left side, labeled VT-250
  19. Can you expand on that? I guess I don't understand. It's pretty obvious to me, that media should be targeted to the audience you're broadcasting to. I mean, that's your market, so you tailor your product to your target market. As I understand it, Battletech originally set out as a "what if" project with japanese mecha. What if highly trained military pilots were operating these mecha instead of 15 year old kids with little to no training? And that it set out to ground it firmly in science fiction (attempting explanations of how things worked). So as I understand it (now, I could be very wrong, I'm not 100% on the particulars), Battletech was an attempt to adapt Japanese real robot mecha, to a western cultural understanding. I like battletech, it's a fun universe to play around in, it's a rich and creative setting, with an original take on the real robot genre. In fact it's probably the single largest influence in the western understanding of the genre. Macross (through robotech), Dougram, and Crusher Joe, were all source material for something that became unique and original. Let's not forget that Harmony Gold has pissed on Battletech fans almost, if not just, as much as they have on Macross, Mospeada, and Southern Cross fans. Battletech uses our favorite Mecha as source material, and in fact acknowledges that by not being a copy/paste from said source material. Not trying to argue, because I don't have all the facts, nor your particular experience. I'm just trying to understand your statement.
