If you didn't read about - I found a bunch of my old Beta tapes http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...=ST&f=26&t=2749 Anyways I've begun capturing the good stuff. Here is the Takatoku 1/55 Super Valkyrie and the 1/40 Orgoroid tv commercials that played during episode 33 of Orguss. Going to do some clean up once everything is captured, but I thought I'd show some small versions as I do them. File is MPG format 6.5mb http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/multim...rmacross-cm.zip More soon! Shawn

went through a couple more tapes for commercials imai orguss models arii orguss models arii southern cross models LS southern cross models Bandai Ultraman some radio control 'bio-robo' Gunze Sangyo Dorvack powered armor then I hit an orguss episode after the opening it said 'sponsored by takatoku toys' needless to say I was thinking 'please please please tell me the commercials were left in' Back then, tapes were expensive. It was very common for people to cut out the commercials Well they were left in on this one! The first break was the arii orguss models then the middle break hit takatoku baby! got the 1/40 takatoku orgoroid toy and... ... the takatoku 1/55 super valkyrie commercial! The fast packs get lowered onto the fighter via these little chains (its a simulated space hangar scene) then it does this 7 stage transformation while the background music is Minmei's Shao Pai Lon...LOL its one of the ones shown in the macross movie preview book love this stuff S

When I helped my mom move 2 months ago, we found an old box with my name on it. Opened it up and bingo-there were 1/2 of my old anime beta tape collection!! I thought these were lost about 10 years ago!! Yesterday the beta machine came in (bought one from an ebay seller) and the fun began Was going through some of them and, oh man-its great My collection was 90% recorded off of japanese tv (you have to remember in the 80's, the official tapes for sale were hundreds of dollars-you couldn't just run down to best buy and pick up an entire series for under $100) anyways some of the highlights include commercials of: imai macross models ariii macross models bandai strike valk gakken 1/35 mospeada legioss toy imai mospeada models gakken ride-armor toy bandai hcm toys(it includes shots of the lgaim, gundam, and vifam toys) gundam models (about 3-4 unique versions) scramble eggs (egg-planes that turned into robots) machine robo one for macross dyrl (shown during one of the breaks in southern cross) the original singers for southern cross and zeta gundam opening/closing songs selling their record singles and a bunch of other goofy stuff have lots of southern cross, lgaim, zeta gundam, mospeada, urusei yatsura, dirty pair, cats eye and votoms episodes to name a few Once I settle back down again i'll get these recorded for everyone here-its a real blast!! In one of the boxes I took with me I found the gifts Seiichi wanted to give to those who ordered the IHP Variable monster as an apology for the entire order being cancelled. He gave me some of the Hasegawa Minmei Guard decal sets-they are very nice! He got them at the WF event. Please email me at ss455@aol.com make sure the subject line says "IHP monster" and include an address for me to mail the decals to Will get those out as the emails come in Would show you a pic-but my scanner is in a box somewhere! Thank you! Shawn

A recent sale of one of his Macross model kits to one of our members here(Jesse Myers) was recently finalized. Cost 13800 yen (about $120!) Seichii has asked that the money from this sale be donated to the victims of the terrible fire here in San Diego(we've been talking the last few days and I sent him pictures and info) Tanmen was the same way during the 9/11 disaster-he sent some Macross items for sale and the proceeds were donated to the 9/11 fund. We have some pretty incredible Macross folks over there in Japan! Shawn

Just now these are getting semi back to normal here with my family Both my Uncle and my brother were evacuated The fire climbed up the mountain and burned down my Uncle's fence-but the firefighters saved their home (he lives in Scripps Ranch). They were able to go back to it last night. My brother was in Santee-and the mountains surrounding his house were all burnt. Power was finally restored yesterday-so he's back too. Thank god everyone made it through safely. I feel horrible for the familes that lost lives and property. It is an absolute disaster down here in San Diego. Shawn

Why no General Discussion forum?
Shawn replied to Savannahtron's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
I want things to stay relatively on focus regarding Macross-that's all There are a million other discussion boards-don't want to dilute this one S -
I'm with Mechleader What else can be said Just can't believe your skills!

Incredible job! So could you offer this as a 'Detail-Up' service for $75 or something? Have to make sure Graham sends this post to Yamato so they can see how much of a difference detailing would add to their product(which I love already) S

I've noticed that a significant amount of the problems are with those members who register here with a Hotmail or Yahoo account. Seems that Hotmail/Yahoo rejects any confirmation emails I send from the server soooo Be aware of the delays in processing your account using Hotmail (its a manual process for me) or Sign up using a non-hotmail/Yahoo account Thanks Shawn

Its not about ownership, its about RESPECT. If you want to scan the original image yourself and post it to your website no one is stopping you. But if someone else took the time to scan and prep the image, and they ask you not to copy it just respect the request. Nobody on these forums owns any of this stuff-everyone knows that. But we are all fans-lets not step on each others toes when it comes to something like this. Not everyone has access to some of these rarer pics-and if we don't appreciate the effort it takes someone to work on these fan sites, how soon will it be before scans are NOT made anymore. Enough already. Thanks Shawn
