  1. I am extremely late to the game, but wow-artist Rodrigo Barraza is very talented. Love this art!!! Google Image search "Rodrigo Barraza Macross" Has a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/rodrigobarrazaaviationprofiles/ Did the box art for the Calibre Wings Macross Toys too...wow. Shawn
  2. Found an old auction from 2009...some pics from the Imai prototype 1/48 kit. Sold for 2600 yen....so please tell me WHY I did not buy this? I am an Idiot..... Just thought it was interesting to share! 当時の製作関係者より入手した学研機甲創世記モスピーダ試作品写真5枚です。古いものなので多少痛みがあります。よろしくお願いします。 Google translate says "These are five Gakuken Kikko Genesis Mospida prototype photos obtained from production personnel at that time. There is some pain because it is old. Thank you." 学研 機甲創世記モスピーダ 当時の試作品写真5枚 - Yahoo!オークション.pdf

Received my copy of the Kawamori Expo book (thanks to you know who you are), and it is just fantastic. There are so many new pictures, I forgot what it felt like to see something for the first time again with Macross art! Armed with Google Translate on my phone it was very enjoyable to 'read' ha. If you can find this 2nd hand I highly recommend it.
  5. I wanted to congratulate you on such an incredible project, great job!! I simply can't believe how much detail you've put into each stage of this build. Thank you for sharing it!!! Shawn
  6. Sorry so late, will check....I have a pretty big file attachment limit. Maybe a recent update to PHP lowered my limit. Shawn

If anyone comes across any Asteroid One info from the Kawamori Expo book holler!
  9. absolutely incredible, you never fail to impress
  10. The picture of the Imai prototype Tread is in Hobby Japan 12/1983 I looked in the other magazines that cover goods (like My Anime) and they have the same Mospeada display in a smaller B&W, but it doesn't cover the Tread at all, just the standard kits. I would pay through the nose for a book from the early 80's that presented all the hobby/anime goods that were on display during that time. The show photographers must have the original pics in full 35mm I bet in their collections (let me believe)...like these examples (sorry to pollute the Mospeada thread with macross pics, won't do anymore)
  11. While doing some inventory of some old Animation magazines in the collection, I stumbled across this pic from from 12/1983. Yes, that there is an un-produced prototype Imai 1/72 Tread plastic model....in both modes! For the old detectives in the room, NOW we finally know why in the Artmic book we have that unused Tread Box art for Bomber and Soldier modes!! It was done for this prototype. It is a shame Imai was not able to get it produced, it looks fantastic! It only took 35 years to figure it out. Shawn
  12. And the rest of my uhmmm..."collection"....LOL Nothing compared to what I've seen posted here!!!! This type of collecting is way to expensive, I'll stick to my cheap-o model kits.
  13. I don't want to get all doom and gloom here and derail this super thread, but in short events happened and were handled with as delicate a hand as I have for this type of thing, I trust I won't regret it. I'll have to post my cel here..I only have 2 or 3 but this is my favorite. Its that DYRL painting mistake (not ever seen in the movie) on YJ a few months ago. I think it is awesome, I like the weird stuff! In person it is amazing looking.
  14. We interrupt this awesome Cel Collection thread to remind people to relax a little, take a breather, and remember we are all fans here supporting the same awesome franchise. Please have fun here. Remember you when frustrated you can always just close the forums and take a break. The people who disagree with you will always be here when you get back with newer and better comebacks Just kidding, but seriously please keep it down to a gentle holler in here. Thank you!
  15. Please keep things civil, no personal attacks are allowed on anyone here! The thought of possible license change in 2 years was interesting...the thoughts of getting a Yamato or Bandai DX toy without the insanity markups we are all so used to would be great, but we honestly did know what, if anything, would have happened, it was all conjecture. Things simply go along being the same for the foreseeable future. ( I think I wrote this exact thing 20 years ago here and on alt.fan.macross when Toycom announced their HG issues with the then-new YF-19 toy at SDCCU. Somethings will never change, ha! )
  16. Thank you Gwyn for the fantastic article! It was great seeing the results and a that we have such an intensively diverse fan group. There literally is a Macross series suitable for everyone out there. Thank you so much for spending the time aggregating the results for us! Shawn
  17. uhmm..i did not know we could hide our own posts, so news to me! (they always add new features, so I'm always lagging) I can see your post, but I can't quite tell you how to find it yet... i unhid it, so maybe try again, and see if it tells you anything when you hide it again?
  18. Was this still an issue? (uploading to the gallery?)
  19. Fantastic, and thank you for the feedback!
  20. The White/blue themes are throwing errors in the admin form, the templates are not compat with the latest board software Please change to the Default_IPB. I'll migrate the white/blue members to the default theme soon. Aside from thebackground color, it is 90% the white/blue theme...i'll see how i can tweak it to match the old.
  21. We've updated the forums to the latest versions...sigh, you know the drill!! :P Any problems please post here and I'll get to fixing Thank you!!!
  22. One closed on YJ last month-attached pics-17000 yen トレジャーフェスティバル ノリモータース sourvenia 機甲世紀モスピーダ 1/72コンドル https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w282528814
  23. For the Arms, I am scared to death about pushing them into the fully open position I really have to just push and have it go over that little detent? Having flashbacks of Yamato pins cracking open. I can't get the chest cavity fillers in unless I get the arm hinges fully into position. This picture is the correct position right?. Mine are currently flapping at 45 degrees, and I see a few others as well.
