    1/55's revisited

attached are the pics from the live auction https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t1157557958 it looks like the backpack and tailfins are one shade of orange, and the head/chest another. but the backpack and tailfins don't LOOK painted, so I was thinking maybe resin cast, but who really knows just a guess

    1/55's revisited

It definitely is an interesting auction. Its either a crazy custom with potentially orange resin re-casted parts, painted parts, or its a crazy prototype work in progress In any case it is super cool and the Matsushiro Starforce box, at 1/100 scale is a super bonus

    1/55's revisited

Been following that one for couple days. The backpack does look molded in color doesn't it? Not just painted? Thought it was my imagination. Could someone have recast it in orange resin, along with the tailfins?
  4. I'll still stand on that hill and yell..the VT-1 has normal freaking sized tail fins. Unfortunately Yamato may have started the downfall of the design with their shrunken tailfins on the original V1 design and it subsequently became the 'way to cheat' to get the backpack to sit like that. And can I also scream PAINT THE STUPID LANDING GEARS WHITE!. Tell me how this doesn't look 100% better. Oh grumpy old man rant over for the day. Thanks for listening.
  5. I can choose 'auto-translate' and get into english
  6. Great video thanks for sharing. Amazing how many current modeling releases there are for Macross right now
  7. Have a link? On YouTube they have subtitles with translation option which works well enough
  8. Tell us where to register up for the contest
  9. Just amazing! Your art is incredible. Would love to see a gallery type book of your past works too...like a Tenjin book. I'd definitely buy one!
  10. That is an awesome mode!
  11. I hunkered down and bought a 2nd Ostrich, and was super nervous opening the box...No Broken Tail fin! Whew! 😛 So I am 1 and 1, even Steven.
  12. If you do searches, it looks like its between $500 and $1000 for a private screening https://www.landmarktheatres.com/theatre-rental/ divided by 40 something fans it could be quite affordable
  13. Those unpainted pics are awesome! Love seeing those again after 720 pages And hey-thats my valk! The one I got at auction for $35 lol https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/50337-bandai-dx-pre-production-unit-found/#comment-1637547
  14. Just give me a TV CF and I'll be happy until the bank account recovers. And just include the stupid missiles like they are doing on the upcoming Tamashi Nations VF-1J Just include them already.
  15. I really wish Bandai should have through this through a bit more They COULD have done something really cool, like each valk would randomly have different pieces cast in the difference materials, so if you collected enough of them you could swap them all out and have an all-chrome vf-1 for example and be the envy of all your Macross buddies Then people would want to buy multiples, and we'd be saying 'will trade one clear chest piece for the matte black' 😛 Or like the lottery one could come all-chrome, then you'd sell if for a lot because it was rare, but then someone would question you and say you assembled it from other ones haha
  16. Thanks for the update! That is definitely more promising that the standard general response.
  17. That pic to me sort of explains it. With the taller fuselage for the 2nd pilot perhaps Miyatake and Kawamori said 'if we fold the tailfins up as we normally do, its going to be at a super steep angle now on this 2 seater. Hmmm, what if we just didn't fold the tailfins and we have the same angle, oh that works, neat! Movie special!" Then Yamato and Bandai have to go and shrink the tailfins and ruin the design. Bah.

    Macross Books

Looks like another Macross book is coming soon https://hobbyjapan.co.jp/books/book/b652809.html from @no3Ljm's post on the Macross Modelers contest
  20. Thanks for posting that...and make sure to watch the beginning for all the upcoming model releases!
  21. Oh I agree The CS is putting the ticket in as "across frontier" and it is probably being categroized by the AI back end as a Star Trek request.
  22. ok sarcasm totally off now I know that is just a standard customer support request response...If you are interested in a title please let us know Just a bit frustrated the US market hasn't been addressed yet, as I had assumed it was one of the big driving forces with the new WWM license agreement.. Maybe they are prepping some official larger launch thing in the future with some other tie-ins, who knows.
  23. Sorry to sound like a jerk, but what? "This morning I contacted Disney. Although there is still no release in the USA, their CS rep said announcements and possibly the release itself will be influenced by customer requests." I wish all you Canadian based Macross fans would have contacted the America based fans, so we could have all went in on our official request to Disney together. ok sarcasm mostly off now Its awesome that you contacted them, but that response is disappointing. For a US release they are holding back until they get requests? Did other countries have some social media Macross campaign I was supposed to sign up for?
  24. Yes that makes good financial sense thanks for the info
  25. Are you finding that sea shipping is significantly cheaper than the air options? For smaller items the sea option is like 10% cheaper than some of the other options in my recent experience. Once time it was literally the same price. My stuff goes to SoCal so perhaps my rates are lower than others. Just wondering.
