  1. I would say the 35th was the most subtle of all...you really need to squint to find the Macross theme

Wow-new artwork from one of the OG Macross staff.... The internet> Here are all the things WRONG with it! 😛
  3. Was packing until 1am , and then only got 1.5 hours sleep, so I was a complete zombie and don't remember most of the day But I have pictures to prove I was there and selling stuff to support the server fees here My daughter help me make a 'Vote for your favorite VF-1' valkyrie setup...it is a little tally push button to register your choice. We had 1982 Takatoku 1/55 > 2002 Yamato 1/48 > 2022 Bandai DX...20 years of development in each stage The final at the end of the day were: 50% Bandai DX 28% Yamato (fully stickered) 22% Takatoku (Bandai reissue with all the tampo was the stand in) I'll be posting the stuff that didn't sell in the For Sale page soon. I am very disappointed I didn't get pictures of anything else, I felt like complete crud and stayed in my little cave the entire time. I hope others can post pics of their setups and the displays. Chris Barretta was next to to me with his 1/55 Custom Anniversary heads and heat shields, they looked phenomenal!!! You'll see more of those here soon! And to my other side was XSToys with all his insano Takatoku and Vintage collection, I was amongst the greats! That is the XSToys's built 1/32Mosacto Legioss btw-it was amazing.
  4. No worries understand those shows can be crazy. Much appreciate your effort though. We have to find a way to spread the word
  5. Can I be the idiot in the thread who literally only today made the connection on releasing the milia quead and the max vf1s.... In my brain it was just the next battroid release...man I am dense sometimes. Love this dual type release!!
  6. If you put the pink goo in the toaster and play some music does it start dancing around? (Bad Ghostbusters 2 ref...sorry)

Nice-thanks for the info! I like the focus on the original trilogy instead of covering all the series-it gets too thin when each one has to get a few pages. TV/DYRL/Flashback is perfect!
  8. I can handle everything in the design so far EXCEPT the nose-cone radar enclosure-its the first thing I notice on every set of new pics. I certainly hope they consider a better way to secure the nose closed, or just ditch the gimmick altogether (assume its for the gbp option in the future) Handling the VF-1J DX V1 was annoying, but this looks like it could be another round of that. (for the 2nd+ DX they added a small tab to make it more secure)
  9. If police ever raided your workplace they wouldn't have any clue what you are doing there-they'd probably call an explosives team and wait for the all-clear. Love seeing the behind the scenes shots at your bakery
  10. Got a bit off track here-please everyone take a step away from the thread for cycle thanks

    1/55's revisited

So the Matsushiro VF-1s all come with left-over Takatoku decals? Was surprised to see those in there
  12. I know the post title is not legally bound and could be read a bit ambiguously, but lets try to keep this one for Toys only. There are a lot of toy purchases that should sort of be in the Anime/SciFi other section, but at page 662...that cat is out of the bag. For model purchases lets keep those in their respective top level section, and follow other categories as well. The catch-all is the Collectors section-my favorite!

  14. Thank you for the help Yes-please show them some pics if you get a chance. I'd wear a sandwich board with the title "See me regarding 100K Vintage Model Kits" 😛
  15. I broke out the Yamato stand for the first time, and was immediately disappointed in that you could not mount the gunpod in fighter mode, like really!!??? WTH. I was curious and the 1/48 DX VF-1 stand is almost perfect for the 1/48 Yamato with the gunpod-it just has nothing to stop it from sliding back on the clear mount. The arm armor looks like it was made for the adapter If there was some way to add friction to the clear plastic stand so the valk wouldn't slide off backwards, or some other crazy sort of stop it would be pretty cool. I hacked it by using the rear landing gear lights as brakes to prevent the slide off.
  16. Anyone know the magazine source yet? found: "The scans of the articles in the Figure Oh and Hobby Japan magazines dedicated to Bandai's DX Chogokin line have been published online. " suspect it is the current issues
  17. Hey-its for sale! https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k1106811755
  18. Got my shipment in! Thank you @WiseGuyVic and Anthony! Come to SDCon this year in Torrance and pick up an Imai 1/20 Gunpod and help support the site! (all sales profits fund the server costs each year) Shawn
  19. With the new Large Missile Pod Regult and Queadluu-Rau coming out, lets take a moment and bow our heads for a moment and appreciate the originals
  20. Did I miss the news on this one? https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b1106420597 why yes...yes you did shawn...doh
  21. great..you both have that one, so next time is shows up then let ME get it 😛
  22. The first release, which had a special price of 8000 yen, had 2 printings which can be found on the last page 59/12/10 and 59/12/30 (Showa year of 59 = 1984) This is the only version that had the poster AND the film strip, and seems to be the most popular variant by far You'll know to expect the 35mm film strip if you see it mentioned on the front right corner of the Obi, or if you see the back price is 8000 Yen. Then in late 84/(or even 85?) there was the normal release, which removed the mention of the film strip on the obi, and the back price is 8800 yen This release only comes with the poster. This is the rarest of the releases in my experience. I don't have one to note the printing date. Lack of the 35mm note on the obi means don't expect a film strip Then in 1992 for the 10th anniversary it was reprinted again (last physical unit). Poster is included, but again no film. Price increased to just 9800 yen. For the 30th I thinkg (can't remember that or 35th) there was an electronic version of the gold book released in Japan. I have some saved off order forms but no additional info is available.
  23. Yep-on the restored blu-ray release it was 'corrected' 😛
  24. I've always wanted to see what other film strips people have from their DYRL Gold Books from 1984. Grab a pic and post them here! I'll start it off
