Soooooo no early release info yet on the postponed Tenjin book? https://www.amazon.com/Hidetaka-Tenjins-Artistry-Macross-frontier/dp/1772942502 Dec 12th is next week. Usually those things ship out a little bit early
  3. Sorry-I'll take this over to the 1/55 thread and not de-rail the 1/48 DX thread if I have further questions! All good for now
  4. I'll be the first to admit I am a model kit guy-only dabble in the toys, but could you be more specific about "specific box packaging" This looks like a generic 1/55 Bandai Strike Valkyrie box, please tell me what is different so I can learn, and we can document the info in the 1/55 thread? I know the boxes came in Smooth and Textured cardboard. We've seen Big West/Tatsunoku stickered variants. We've seen Italian versions with half the box cut away, and regularly sized ones from France or Taiwan with different text or missing Bandai logos. What indicators are there that this is considered a possible Vendor Sample? I see it has the back plate Bandai stickers covering the Takatoku logos, but that all early versions. Is the box 80% of the size of a normal strike valk or something extraordinary like that? I feel like an idiot asking again, but I'm asking again LOL The Strikes were initially released in 1984, with 90,000 shipped by the end that year. https://tamashiiweb.com/t_kokkaku/64/?wovn=en#
  5. What are we talking about in packaging? Smooth vs Textured box? Or something else? What am I not seeing?
  6. Sorry...whut...?? Can you please elaborate more details on the "ultra rare 1984 Pre-Production Strike Valkyrie" ?
  7. VB-6 vs 2 DX 1/48s for size comparison...GEEEEZ!
  8. Earlier this year there was a lottery for Tamashi-Nations club members and others. You would register you'd want a Mechanic Edition and get put into a lottery, then names were announced and toys shipped 11/17 for this years show. Now we are after-show and they put up another lottery type system which just closed Those winners get announced next week I'm not sure how other companies got this, as it says 1 per person everywhere I look I picked up mine using a proxy buyer from Yahoo Japan auctions from a private seller. We'll see a bunch of these getting listed in April 2024 so if you missed out on this one (prices too high) just wait a bit longer for more to hit the market
  9. I swear we are all in the Matrix just popped up...PAINTED these look awesome https://jp.mercari.com/item/m85903524585
  10. Thanks for posting the link-now I can clearly see just how the arms detach. Such a crazy option they need to include to be accurate to the anime. So in 10 years will we see these on the collectors market as 'Loose YF-21/2024 release, missing right arm' 😛
  11. That is brutal...wow!

    1/72 F-203

Wow-this is a super rare build, thanks for sharing the pics! This is the true "Macross Zero" for me. Moscato is king. Look at all the wonderful detailing, excellent work!!
  13. Has anyone actually PAINTED one of these sets? I wonder if you could got down the hobby store and get some paints
  14. The DX articles are from Hobby Japan. I suspect in a couple weeks we'll see this new updated posted too. https://hjweb.jp/article/tag/title_19/
  15. Ok...so THAT explains why shipping 2 of these Konigs from HLJ was 113USD as the cheapest option..others were 140. That box is gigantic. I feel better now or at least more understanding
  16. This one just arrived
  17. Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Felt like I was looking at Hasegawa's studio build pictures for their catalogs....great angles and incredible work!!
  18. Wow-with the closeups we can see that Bandai used decals on this mockup instead of Tampo printing, which makes a lot of sense for a proto I was wondering if they had a little hand printer or something they could just apply wherever they wanted...not the world is normal again

I do feel a bit better knowing we are not the only ones who had horrible shipping experience with this book- these are from amazon japan, translated to english...sounds exactly like what we had, except we had an overseas element as well https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/天神英貴/product-reviews/4334101119/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_show_all_btm?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews
  20. ah you are right, in my brain I was thinking the gunpod mounts were only on the inside....not sure where I got that idea
  21. Noticed the arms are on backwards (L/R), but also its a slightly new design with the circle on the inside (the gunpod mount would be center of both arms, not on the outside)
  22. It needs to have a button on the display stand that plays 'Sunset Beach' on demand
  23. I've always wanted to have a VT-1 like this (The old Orange Collection models)
  24. I wonder if the Ostrich uses normal size tailfins and does some other geometry magic with the rear hinge, or if it uses the shorter tailfins like Yamato did (that always bugged me, I like a full size tailfin)
  25. I wasn't sure if the light was playing off it, but it does look like it could be clear plastic-the wing stripe seems to be peeking through
