Thanks for the update! All our poor Yamatos being used for some crazy impressive customization projects, lol. Love these mags, with these really out-there cross universe variants. Its like the Macross Hobby Handbook with toys instead of Imai and Arii kits. Wonder if in 20 years there will be a line of DX custom with the same wild customization twists...but it will probably just be AI generated at that point.

The original Yamato designers took the Studio Half Eye YF-21 and upscaled it, making toy minded tweaks along the way. https://macrossworld.com/macross/toys/_toys_she_vs_yamato.htm You have to be in the mindset of the early 2000s...we had NOTHING for toys except for 1/55 reissues, and tons of expensive Resin kits. Yamato was a blessing pumping fresh blood into Macross and re-ignited the fandom. Don't be too terribly hard on the old designs, just look on them with eyes and a mindset 20 years in the past.

The 3rd grade series has the most Macross stuff. I've been slowly filling in gaps, they just never turn up.

Wow! I had not seen that Macross Driving game before. The March issue of that magazine is near impossible to find. Hitting the Quead is -20 points...ouch I have the Furoku assembly instructions from July 83 with a similar "driving" game (Perman themed)

Well the lack of a gunpod of the VT-1 is a a critical plot point in the movie, so it makes sense it is missing as its a trainer only. Can I be super honest here...after 40 years of watching this movie, until I saw the tent description, I did NOT KNOW this was a PARACHUTE from the valkyrie I never questioned 'why would there be a tent' available, just figured it was some sort of emergency supply stored somewhere

Got mine today! It definitely has little bits of new, or rarely pre-published art, but if I had a single complaint, the pics are so small!!!! Google Translate/Lens is doing a good job on it being readable.
