I see 1/55 styled shins and feet on the left black robot, and on the right silver robot, 1/55 styled arms and what looks like exact 1/55 front landing gear, with the nail buster release switch and spring. For the center f-14 I just see the tail fins can collapse (to the outside, not over each other), but I'd call that a strong derivative. Anything else these old eyes aren't catching? Cool find!!

in the 1/55 thread there was a pic of an original Bandai Strike Valkyrie shipping case if I remember right. In 30 years would the 1/48 VT-1 Super Ostrich case have the same collectability/sentimentality?

Gimmick is just waist rotation

If you google translate the parachute/tent instructions thank goodness it says for you to make a color A4 size copy of the sheet(thick paper) instead of hacking up your instruction book
-
Annnnnnndddddd???????????????????? Did it hold up the shape with the extended clamping time?
-
-
they painted on the 4 nose boosters I don't see the TENT listed on the parts sheet, maybe that is just included separately?
-
They just uploaded the VT-1 instruction sheet https://tamashiiweb.com/images/item/item_0000014813_sK5nUNBc_300.pdf Wonder how many times you can transform without wearing down the paint on the tail fins to the back.

Freaking Mail Order and begging your parents to write a check...heck yeah!

Godzilla Minus One - November 3rd 2023
Shawn replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just watched on Netflix, and now wish I would have got off my arse and saw in the theaters, it was great. Yeah-some of the effects are a bit cheesy (the walking), but the fire breath is like SDF-1 levels of destruction, and anytime it was in the water, it was like watching the shark chase from Jaws, got goosebumps in a few of those scenes. Thoroughly enjoyed it! -
Holy moly thanks for posting that video! I've been trying to sell a 'broken tailfin' new release YF-19 at the recent cons and no one would go near it even at super discounts. Now I realize it isn't broken in the sense that mine does something different than anyone else's. Barely touch it on fold and it pops off just the same. Now I can just replace that 'broken' post it note with one written down with @jenius's youtube link and timestamp and say 'this is Bandai's design'

Yeah-the head just pops off on a ball joint Agreed its still wonky, might try it again later, you really need some sort of press of something to cinch it down. I was using something flat to press it down with when it was warm, but it seemed to rebound a bit, like muscle memory. Next attempt tomorrow will be to warm it up, then clamp it down and let it sit for a while.

Took it to battroid mode today for the first time. It's crazy complicated but once completed it's amazing solid. I do have one side where the leg almost refuses to rotate on the hip pivot and the same thing with one of the arms...it doesn't want to rotate where attached to the base. It looks like the attachment screw could've hidden behind a glued in panel but I could not get it loose. Aside from bent laser and 2 joints that are breaking level tight it's a really cool addition to the collection lol

I wonder if the tail fins are removable...I might have to take an extra set from the Angel Birds and try to match the orange. I really really really want the VT-1 in fighter mode with NORMAL sized tailfins, these shorties really bug me. vs the VF-1D for reference

Looking for info on the Uncut VHS release of DYRL circa 1995

@Darkwater Can we add another chapter to this one? If the most recent registrar of the Macross/Bionoids is Chicken Soup for the soul (16:07 in the video) in 2022.... Well they are now chapter 7 bankruptcy (changed from the original chapter 11), so who wants to go in with me and buy one title from them? LOL! Come on everyone, lets do a GoFundMe and free this title once and for all for domestic release https://www.lowpass.cc/p/redbox-shutting-down -
Oh they'll find a way..like changing the color to be a slightly different blue lol

Just some generic stuff...inspired by some other art Inspired from the MAT Angel Birds pic I used for an old MW Splash Page I always liked the gerwalk legs with the non-folded tail fins look And the other inspired by Takani The dynamic bird type poses from him are just awesome.

My VF-1D is still sealed too...lol but I picked up a loose one on the cheap for display, and the orange really pops The VT-1 will definitely get opened

I tried cracking the neck open in fighter mode when it is in the blister pack (top and bottom) and I could not get any real movement in the packaging So I'm not too confident this is the result of movement of the toy in the box in transit. Every time I'd open/crack the neck a bit, then put the top plastic cover on, the neck gap would close up and it was all secure.

If I remember the stateside Hi-Metal R line had the warning on Amazon about it being a 'high level return' item...but that was due to the lack of metal in a 'hi metal' item and the customers being surprised. I wonder if the WWM YF-21 will end up with the same type of flag if enough have the issue. The sole bad review on the YF-19 warranted a return instead of a fix

That is an amazing setup, I need an official YF-21 hangar diorama set now. Maybe it'll come with the worp wings and ghost

That doesn't work if you buy on the 2nd hand markets (Yahoo Japan or Mercari) because you could not get into the HLJ sales window or wanted to save $100 off of BBTS but that is the trade off isn't it. You either stay up at 3am and try to get into some super small sales window from a place like HLJ at near retail cost You pay a bit more on a place like BBTS, knowing you have their support for a defective item You pay $235 on Mercari , with the risk of a bent head laser and no support to save a buck (me)
