  1. Thanks for confirming...so it seems the Chinese kit company doing the Robotech RPG must be coming up with the names for the Armor types too, as that is when I first saw them receive a name....are there any illustrations for these items that have Zentran writing on them? If so, maybe they are going hard-core and translating from Zentradi....LOL Or maybe these names are coming from the Fanky doujins?
  2. LOL....he is the forgotten old SDFM era illustrator that not many are familiar with and thus often gets left out when going over SDFM era illustrators...he was pretty prolific, but basically did whatever he wanted when it came to the mecha of Macross, think missiles and laser coming out of places where they shouldn't and using non-canon paint schemes, etc....probably no one complained or cared because his target audience (via the various TV anime show mags and books sold at the time) seems to have been the young kids watching the Macross show on TV at the time....
  3. It seems KC subscribes to the Masami Watanabe school of thought when it comes to Macross mecha....in short, anything goes!
  4. The Gnerl does launch missiles....just not how KC plans on implementing....not sure if it would be practical to do it as depicted in the show....still, when not in use, it doesn't seem like it will affect the way the Gnerl should look....although I'm sure when the launchers pop out they will be colored in aqua metallic like how the VF-1 cockpits are painted on their VF-1 line....lol
  5. Them scurvy pirates will probably be as "murderous" as these....
  6. @Seto Kaiba @Seto Kaiba @Seto Kaiba What is the "official" name of this ship in the Macross Universe... I'd have to check my reference books, but thought you may just know off the top of your head....I don't ever recall it being referred to as a Quel-Gulnau...until just recently by the folks producing the tiny gaming kits....but guessing it must be correct and they didn't just make it up...
  7. I'm surprised no one has brought it up to him....maybe he'll double down on the name too!
  8. According to "Robotech" site the Quel-Gulnau is actually this ship.... https://macross2.net/m3/sdfmacross/salvageship.htm
  9. Nice internal mechanics gimmick... The scene where the missiles pop out like that and take out an entire VF squadron was one of the most memorable of the entire series!!!!!!!! Can't wait for the canon metallic green version to be released!!!!!!!!!
  10. I'm trying to recall stories from the show and the only one I can remember off the top of my head is the one involving the Sith with the umbrella lightsaber (I think)...and even then I couldn't tell you what it was about... On the contrary, another anthology type animated series that I recall several stories from is Love, Death & Robots....the one with the Space Spider still weirds me out thinking about it! LOL
  11. Lots of "ifs"...especially the part proving themselves to be consistent on their non-kickstarter stuff....but if all we were currently waiting on was the "missile attachment" regults and they had no other pending POs...I would have no reason to believe they would not be able to get enough support for, say, the Scout Regult....I do not see their stuff as merely "Robotech"....so those other "Robotech" Kickstarters are irrelevant to me because I had no interest in any of them...
  12. Yeah, the optics are bad.....someone gave him some bad advice about Kickstarter....KC should have used Kickstarter as a way to raise funds for items that had potentially low demand....like 'side characters', optional paint schemes, etc.....on top of that, the only way a Kickstarter would have worked is if KC had a solid rep for delivering things on time...right now they are not doing that, thus making promises for more items on Kickstarter is a hard sell for them...
  13. The sparkly is a given...his head canon has already claimed it as legit....oh well, we've only waited decades for a toy company to make Zentran figures...and now they are essentially just a 'modern' upgrade from the Matchbox figs, small and painted incorrectly to make it even more frustrating.....I suppose we shouldn't have expected any better...it is a Macross fan's lot in life to suffer...still, those with some painting skills will probably be able to at least fix the colors and make it look better....
