JsARCLIGHT Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 am I missing something here? You and me both, bud. Hey Rodavan, what's the deal here? Quote
fulcy Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 If I am not mistaken, that's the CG Q Rau Rod has been working on - looks amazing!!! Quote
Rodavan Posted April 22, 2004 Author Posted April 22, 2004 If you haven't been in the fan works section lately ? a CG model rendered to look like a real toy ! Hopr you like it ? Quote
Dangard Ace Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 I wouldn't be surprised if Shawn frontpaged it. Great work! Quote
Sam Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Holy crap, had me fooled.. thats some mighty fine puty work you done there mate.. super realistic! musta taken a while to make that eh? Sam Quote
JsARCLIGHT Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Well it's good CG because it fooled me! Any time you have to take a serious hard look at something to tell if it is CG or not you did a good job. Quote
bandit29 Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Well it's good CG because it fooled me! Ya me too. That's awesome. Great work. Quote
wolfx Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 (edited) Shite...you made me go.... "Crap....screw Yamato's....i'm getting this one" >_< It looks sleeker and truer to the line art compared to yamato's. Great job man! I am impressed, and fooled. Edited April 22, 2004 by wolfx Quote
EXO Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 If I am not mistaken, that's the CG Q Rau Rod has been working on - looks amazing!!! Tattle! Quote
bsu legato Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 So let me get this straight....that thing is CG? Hooo-leeee shiiiiiii........t Awesome work. Quote
Kamion Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Wow... now just make it into a clip and make it fly up, stop suddenly, open missile ports and FIRE!! and zip off in the zig-zag way that it always moves... Kidding... great work... I'll be interested to see more please! Quote
the white drew carey Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 I, too, knew it was his CG Q-Rau. But you must admit it's a pretty slick prank. If someone ( ) hadn't given up the farm so quickly, I was expecting people to asking where the seam-lines are or where the screw holes go! Great work, Rodovan. The lower legs are a tad too skinny for my tastes, but if that's all I can complain about, it means you've done good. (now get crackin' on a "meatier" TV-version Q-rau) Quote
BlueMax Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Kewl! Well done, i was fooled too! lol~! Great work! 2 thumbs up...... heck... i'll up me big toes too....... Quote
Blaine23 Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 I, too, knew it was his CG Q-Rau. But you must admit it's a pretty slick prank. If someone ( ) hadn't given up the farm so quickly, I was expecting people to asking where the seam-lines are or where the screw holes go! Heck, this is the toy forum... if somebody hadn't spilled the beans, I'd be expecting this poor CG model to get torn apart - "The proportions aren't correct! Line Art! Screen cap!" "Wrong shade of red! Get a color wheel!" "What scale is it?" "I don't like that scale!" "Make it in the scale I want!" "I bet it has crappy articulation! It needs 7004 points of articulation!" "Die-Cast!" "Die-Cast Sucks!" "Where's the pilot figure? Is she articulated? Is she beautiful? Will she talk to me and tell me I'm not a loser like everyone says?" "I don't want a red one! I want a green one! Waaaah!" And then finally... "When's the Yamato YF-19FP coming out?" Great CG work... btw... I've been following that thread with mouth dropped wide open. Quote
Godzilla Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 you have to be kidding me... Looks real nice. Quote
Solscud007 Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 wow that fooled me good. You know what sold me to thinking it was a toy? the impoerfections in the paint. Nice work if that was intentional. It is the light reflections that does it for me. cause they arent perfect like usual CG. theres a sense of realism. Quote
Knight26 Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Love that model, now need a side by side comparison shot with the actual toy. Quote
ZorClone Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 aw dangit Fulcy! lol, this woulda been fun to see how long those of us who actually visit the fan-works section could let this joke run Quote
Sumdumgai Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Holy Sheeeeee-it! I'd buy that for a dollar! That is some damned good work! Quote
Aegis! Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 I, too, knew it was his CG Q-Rau. But you must admit it's a pretty slick prank. Great CG work... btw... I've been following that thread with mouth dropped wide open. Now , THAT¨s comedy. Anyway , really awesome work , it almost got me fooled until I started paying attention to the small details (it was too perfect to be true really). Anyway , if only Yamato had done something like this with the real Q-rau. I still think this is how the Toy was gonna look like (at least it looked similar to this in the promo photos) Quote
rocco_77 Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 WOW! that is something else... Great job... Now can you do a short animation? Ya know, show it striking a pose and opening it's missle hatches or something.... Quote
pfunk Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 OMG!!!!!!!!!! i still dont believe it, dude thats some serious talent, i hope thats your 9-5 job Quote
Retracting Head Ter Ter Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 When I saw it, I thought it was the real Yamato toy, but repainted with a really glossy paint job. Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Cripes! Now that is talent! Have you any idea how many April Fool's pranks you could pull with skills like that? Quote
wolfx Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Cripes! Now that is talent! Have you any idea how many April Fool's pranks you could pull with skills like that? Make a YF-19 one...make the boards go crazy....leave it on for a month before revealing the Fan Works thread. Hehehhe. Quote
KingNor Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 it still has me fooled, i fancy myself at being pretty good at telling CG from real life, and even knowing that is CG, i can't find anything to give it away (aside maybe from the way it looks like it would fall over backwards due to center of gravity.. but thats it) Quote
Rodavan Posted April 23, 2004 Author Posted April 23, 2004 Thanks all !! I was thinking I could do it before 1st April , but the model is really complex and lunch times only go so far , the wive also asked where see can get some body spray that smell like computer so she can can also get the same amount of attention I am looking to start a new project so if you have ideas , let me know! There's lot of good talent in the Fan Works section - come visit us !!!!!! Quote
Neova Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Rodavan, Great job! Any chance of a green and purple versions? Might give us an indication of how variants would look! Quote
