wolfx Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 The manga came out before ikkitousen, but I can't help but feel that its similar. School kids fight it out wanting to become the strongest kinda thing....u know. And then throw in some fanservice (not as much as Ikkitousen...at least not yet) and some boobalicious babes that have the power to chibify themselves.....this series is quite cool. Love them fight scenes. I'm also reading the manga which has scenes which are quite pr0nny. Anime has obviously removed these scenes (to your amusement) and replaced with more normal scenes. E.g: In the anime when Bob is talking to his girlfriend during dinner, he was actually talking to her during sex. Manga can be gotten here. Tenjou Tenge Quote
gnollman Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Everytime I try to open those after downloading them, I get a message that the file is corrupted.... Lame... Read the first volume before, though... sure is some sweet art. Quote
rikiryou Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 (edited) I found it rather hard to swallow the anime's style though. They just couldn't capture Oh! Great's style, and apart from that, Aya sounds plain weird. Negatives aside, I can't badmouth the animation quality since it's pretty darn smooth. By the way, did you notice that/read about the Ikkitousen manga actually having identical scenes to Tenjou Tenge? The characters pose in the same style etc. It's quite sad, really. rikiryou Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Nope. That's the problem. Tenjou Tenge and Ikkitousen are not by the same artist. I guess that's what people usually call a 'ripoff'. Quote
Keiichi Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Here's what rikiryou's talking about. I really like the anime so far! But I agree, Aya's voice actress ain't that great, but it's her first VA job ever, so give her time and she'll get better I think. Quote
wolfx Posted April 13, 2004 Author Posted April 13, 2004 Wow.....that's a clear ripoff.....so who ripped who off? Quote
MrDisco Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 when i saw ep1 i wasn't completely unimpressed. couldn't see what all the hype was about. the voices annoyed me, the exaggerated hair antennaes on the chibi sister..ugg. but then ep2. WOW. blood! guts! awesome fight scenes! i am a believer now. Quote
Keiichi Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Wow.....that's a clear ripoff.....so who ripped who off? Tenjou came first Quote
JELEINEN Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Tenjou Tenge also happens to be the title for a supplement for the Tenra Banshou Zero game. Quote
gnollman Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 What's the deal with the Tenjho Tenge spelling? It's just wrong, by every stretch of the vagaries of romanization.... Quote
Oihan Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 (edited) Which series is better? Edited April 26, 2004 by Oihan Quote
MrDisco Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Which series is better? thats a bit subjective. i havent seen either series fully so perhaps too early to tell but so far i think i like ikkitousen's story but TenTen's fight scenes. Quote
