Gakken85 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 http://www.collectiondx.com/blog/vf5ss/veef_show_episode_51_retrospective_yamato_toys Good podcast to keep up with if you don't. They have some great stuff on Macross collecting if you scroll through old episodes. Enjoy. Quote
Renato Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Thanks! Front page updated: http://www.macrossworld.com/4402/podcast-retrospective-on-yamato-macross-toys/ Quote
Valkyrie Magnus Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I listened to it. Brings back memories of the old days when 1/55 reissues, 1/60 v1's, 1/48's and the mpc's dead on arrival were coming out. Quote
Gakken85 Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 For a guy just coming back into the hobby, it's fun to hear about all the history I missed haha. Quote
VF5SS Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 It was many sleepless nights at the refresh button. Quote
Gakken85 Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 I've been thinking about doing a podcast on the 36 episodes of Macross. Covering 3 episodes per cast. Discussing mecha, art, plot, impact, ect for each show. What do you think? Quote
VF5SS Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 My advice is to never start podcasting. Just look what it's done to me. Quote
Valkyrie Magnus Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I never listened to the podcasts before. Now when my wife came home from work the past 2 nights she said you've been listening to that 2 nights in a row. What is it? (In other words stop listening and help me prepare dinner) Quote
derex3592 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Ok..you guys have peaked my interest...I'm gonna listen to it this weekend. Quote
Valkyrie Magnus Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I'm such a home-wrecker. I made up for it by doing 2 loads of laundry, washed the dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and mopped the floor hahaha Quote
Renato Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I have to apologize for one thing here: towards the end we talk a bit about the Yamato Showroom event that neither of us attended, but we refer to the pre-release pictures that were put up on this post here: http://www.macrossworld.com/3968/vf-4g-transformation-photo-gallery/ I'm sorry that I completely neglected to give credit where it's due, and I take this opportunity to thank Save and Tochiro for taking the time to carefully map out each step of the transformation with pictures that I know took a long time to edit and give us their impressions, no doubt helping out all enthusiasts on the fence in making their purchasing decisions. We referenced it but failed to actually mention their involvement. Quote
aceoftherebellion Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Finally got to listen to this, very informative and entertaining as ever! I got an extra laugh when you guys were talking about the Konig Monster and Renato mentioned photographing his for me in that other thread, haha. Thanks again for that one! Really though, I love this sort of thing, chronicling 'toy history' such as it is. Well done, guys! Quote
