Graham Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Guys, A while back (I forget when), Model Graphix (or it may have been another magazine) printed an article ofn a transforming VF-4 kit. I forget if it was the old Studio Half-Eye kit or an all new scatch-built kit. Anyway, I need some high-resolution scans of the article if anybody has it. Especially interested in pics which show how the kit transforms. Thanks in advance, Graham Quote
valhary Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I have the toy transformation maybe can help? Quote

Graham Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Looking for the article that had these pics. As big and hi-resolution scans as possible please of the whole article. Thanks, Graham Quote
boinger Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I don't have any Macross Magazines with the transformable VF-4. But, I will look through my Macross picture collection to see what I can find. That's all I can find on my computer, but I'll keep looking for VF-4 model transformation pictures. Quote

Good collection of pics! Quote
Kelsain Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Hmmm, don't I recall a similar question from Master Graham about the VF-17? Just sayin' Quote

Valk009 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Graham, you should maybe try and PM VF_1S, aka Patrick. He built a S.H.E. kit and has many pics of his kit in all three modes, possibly also the transformation sequence! Quote
valid Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 i smell something cool and expensive.. better start saving from rite now.. you never guess if graham plotting sumthing Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 VF-4 The lineart with the Super Parts looks eeriely like the pre-cursor to the VF-25 Armor Packs. Will this come with Super Parts??? Pulling off the slender look of the fighter is going to complicate dimensions of the battroid. I for one wouldn't mind a slight thickened version of the main body. If Yamato sticks too closely to the lineart, the battroid thighs will look too thin and awkward. Just my opinion. So, when can we see the first renderings??? Quote
protostar8 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 We need a transforming papercraft VF-4 stat! lol Quote
Talos Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I don't have too much to add to this. The VF-4 was one of my first Macross profile works, so I've gone back to the TIA Macross Plus Movie Edition version, which I like better, proportionally, and tweaking the shape and details to better fit the original design. I've updated it since then, but this is the newest one I had on hand. I've since done a new cockpit interior, moved the forward fuselage missiles back some, and started tweaking the tail shape, since I intend to do both the original swept one as well as the TIA straighter one. I also intend to do the VF-4xL versions, with lacked arms, and draw the boosters and alternate weapons pods, so I had to draw the inner wing areas (still unfinished here). I can't really comment on the battroid mode that much, but if there's any help I can offer in the fighter mode, I'm more then happy to comment. So much more left for me to do to finish my line art... Knight26 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Graham, you evil bastard, when when will we see the VF-4 from Yammie? Quote

Jasonc Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 If Yamato makes this, this will be my first multi purchase of one expensive item (I think). It's just too badass not to. Quote
Clay Cliff Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) This thread is interesting, I'm gathering info for a sctratchbuild project, a non-transformable VF-4G (Fighter mode)in 1/48... I think I'll have to "invent" some parts, like the landing gear wells and some cockpit interior... I read somewhere that the VF-4 screen was retrofitted to VF-1, creating the "Block 6"... I'll assume that this screen wasn't the only thing retrofitted, but main controls and ejection seat as well... Let's see what happens. Edited September 2, 2011 by Clay Cliff Quote
Ghost Train Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 This is a good vibe, but I got a feeling we have to wait until after the VF-17D/S, VF-19P/S until we see this one, so it seems my gut feeling tells me that if said plans to exist... it's lined for late 2012 (hopefully before the Maya Nibiru Zombie Stock Market Crash Alien Invasion Apocalypse of late December) Quote
Kelsain Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 ...so it seems my gut feeling tells me that if said plans to exist... it's lined for late 2012 That would be appropriate, wouldn't it? Quote
Reïvaj Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 That would be appropriate, wouldn't it? Yes indeed! Quote
Ghost Train Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Oh believe me, the significance of a 2012 launch date did not escape me. But the connection between real life dates and fictitious events have zero meaning to me. I'd rather have my toys sooner rather than later. Quote
m0n5t3r Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 nobody's wondering why this is in the models section? crap, if Yamato makes this and goes the HDP route... Quote
Raptor One Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I would assume it's because he's asking for pictures of a model kit. It's not like this is an announcement thread. I can't wait to see what Yamato would do with the VF-4 though. It's not really one of my favourites overall but I love the fighter mode. One step closer to a 1/60 VF-9 (Hey a brother can dream) Quote
valid Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 and graham lips still seal.. damnit graham tell us sumthing (lol) Quote
Loop Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 (edited) nobody's wondering why this is in the models section? crap, if Yamato makes this and goes the HDP route... Maybe it's posted here because there are no toys of it that I know of that are anywhere near yamato's standards. I hope it's a completed toy..... Edited September 5, 2011 by Loop Quote
Lynk Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Where's the pic of the VF-4 in Gerwalk mode with a turret on its back similar to the YF-29? Is that one official?... Quote
anime52k8 Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 It's a VF-X-4. I think it's just pre-production art. Quote
Talos Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 The turret's from the VF-X-7, if I remember. Quote
