theplasticwerks Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Like any good(?) Macross fan, I try to put all of my Transformers into Gerwalk mode at least once. To my pleasant surprise... Reference pics for fighter and battroid: I highly recommend this toy, by the way. A tiny biplane Transformer, what's not to love? Quote
Vostok 7 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Transformers biplane? Never seen that before, it's awesome!! What series is it from? Vostok 7 Quote
eugimon Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Transformers biplane? Never seen that before, it's awesome!! What series is it from? Vostok 7 from the new movie Quote
m0n5t3r Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 lol, cropduster "in disguise" off to kill some insecticons... Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Crop Duster! Here is a surprise! Crop Duster! GERWALK in disguise! Farmtools wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of... THE INSECTICONS! Quote
Sluff Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I actually got this figure also, it is really cool, if you look at the robot mode he is a skeleton, his face is a skull. This is by far the most original Transformer I have ever seen and it does have a gerwalk/battle mode. For $8.00 its not bad Quote

It does have a steampunk vibe to it. It's a good design with lots of possible configurations. You can have it in airplane mode and then you can have only the head peak out and the arms can extend out. Quote
mitch Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Good stuff! Personally I think it looks a lot better as a Gerwalk than in it's intended robot mode. Paint it red and make a little Roy to stick in the cockpit and you have a full win! Quote
Vostok 7 Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I gotta find this. Kinda late for Steampunk, but I suppose WWI was the end of the Victorian era, so I suppose it works Vostok 7 Quote
ntsan Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 The pic just sold on me! Now I will try to get it, biplane FTW! Quote
Letigre Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I gotta find this. Kinda late for Steampunk, but I suppose WWI was the end of the Victorian era, so I suppose it works It is sort of too modern for Steampunk, but still too old-fashioned to be called Dieselpunk; it is really a little of both and kind of wedged in-between. Slammer Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 funny thing is, he`s NAMED after one of the deluxe Insecticons from G1, Ransack. Quote
crasis Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 This guy is actually my favorite ROTF movie toy yet (after Leader Prime, of course). Best $8 I've spent in awhile, and easily my favorite of all the Scout class figures. Highly recommended. His robot mode is an odd mix between a Terminator Endoskeleton and a coal miner, and the detailing on the joints and such is wonderful for the size. I'm hoping for the inevitable Red Baron repaint. Quote
eriku Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I picked up this toy over the weekend. My only complaint is that the one I got is a tiny floppy mess whose arms and legs pop off every time I move them. Other than that he's a sweet little biplane bot. Very unique alt mode (insofar as TFs never really do old-timey stuff), unique transformation and fairly decently articulated in bot mode. I'll probably pick up another one if I find one and hopefully the joints wont be so rubbish. Protip- you can pull his face off (it's only held on by friction) and his head looks even creepier because the eyes stay behind. Quote
honkhet Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 i've read nothing but good comments about this guy! i might pick him up this weekend, and my gf wont complain, cos he's so cheap! full of win Quote
honkhet Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 this thing can even pull off a proper gerwalk mode! that's it, this guy is sold Quote
Graham Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Moving to the other anime forum. This is a Transformer, not a Valk. This threads connection to Macross is extremely tenuous. The toy is cool in it's own way and it's nice it can do a Gerwalk mode, but it ain't Macross. Graham Quote
sabretooth Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 funny thing about the red baron repaint....i made one a couple of days ago... Quote
RavenHawk Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 funny thing about the red baron repaint....i made one a couple of days ago... Wow, nice job. That looks fantastic. Might have to try this too. Quote
eriku Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 funny thing about the red baron repaint....i made one a couple of days ago... That looks great! I like him even better in the red/silver scheme. Any pics in plane mode? Quote
eriku Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Awesome, thanks! I think the more unified color scheme works a lot better than the original, which seems a bit random and uninspired. Quote
the_foul_fowl Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Just got this over the weekend and yeah, it's an awesome TF. I like how good it looks in Biplane mode, and how steampunk it is in robot mode. A thought just occurred to me, but wouldn't it be awesome to have a line of TF toys based on realistic WWI/WWII vehicles? Imagine TFs based on Tigers, Shermans, B-17s, Zeros, Mustangs, Whippet tanks! Quote
F-ZeroOne Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Some of the early Go-Bots included a Zero, a Mustang, a Corsair, and a P-38 Lightning. You can find an overview of them here: http://counter-x.net/gobots/reviews/index.html Quote

There was the Transformers/GIJoe comic series a couple years back that took place during WWII, with appropriate vehicle modes. Quote
