captain america Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 (edited) Hi guys. Just thought I'd start a thread exclusively devoted to promote the VF-1 Booster project. Essentially, this is the grand-prize buildup in its finished form, and hopefully, this will give a good idea of what can be done with the kit. Enjoy. captain america Posted September 21, 2004 Author Posted September 21, 2004 (edited) Close-up of the port-side fuselage and vents. Rust detail was added with chalk pastel in order to give the booster a different weathered look from the fighter, since I immagined that both units would have been used and maintained differently. jardann Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 John, That looks awesome! I can't wait to see it on a shelf in my house. Somewhere safe so that the kiddies can't get to it. I hope the pilot arrives soon. If it doesn't arrive by this weekend, PM me and I can send another. I'll send it with some tracking and confirmation this time. Quote

gnollman Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 (edited) Very freaking cool. So how do the legs fit in there? Very nicely. Smartass. Still.... do the hasegawa kit legs fit with or without modification? Edited September 23, 2004 by gnollman Quote
captain america Posted September 23, 2004 Author Posted September 23, 2004 The only "modification" needed to the Valkyrie kit legs are the deletion of 2 parts, but this is clearly outlined in the instructions. You can always just clean out the foothole with a dremel and file if you insist on keeping all the parts. However, the castings that Jesse is doing seems to have alleviated the issue of the foothole, so for those castings you may not have to modify anything. Quote
mbs357 Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 Wow, that's amazing. Here's where I wish I had skills in models. o_O I should get a couple of cheap ones from Wal-Mart to practice up...Macross models seem like a must to me. =X Quote
