jenius Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 You actually do get two missile launchers with the DYRL parts though... Quote
wolfx Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 I'm gonna go for 1 ghost, but depicted either way you want with interchangeable parts. But there will be different paint schemes that u can choose from. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Ack, ok, I was thinking of the 1/60 Roy. (which gives just 1 of each) Quote
DARKWIND Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Regardless of whether or not it's 'anime accurate' or accurate to HFH's original concept idea, I love the color scheme of the Yamato VF-0A. Best toy they have released so far IMO. Looks stunning in all 3 modes. I agree with you there. . . . I'll happily buy the Shin Version as well and a brown one if they ever release it. But, then I'm just a Yamato whore, so wadda I know? Graham I agree with you there too!!! (And there are worse things to be I guess. . . ) Quote
jenius Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Okay, I'll weigh back in with an updated guess. Shin giftset will come with the light gray Ghost. I think they will also give you the parts to make it a light gray drone if you like... it just seems so cheap and easy to do and just adds one more reason to buy a Shin giftset. I also think it'd make people happier because they could then not attach the full Ghost and display it on its own as the drone or what have you. That's a pretty key difference between the Ghost and the Armor parts. Strike cannon or no, no matter what you weren't going to be able to display the armor parts (or play with them) if they weren't on a valk. If the Ghost comes with the other parts it becomes its own toy which is a selling point. If you remove the drone parts from the Giftset it suddenly behooves people to just buy the 0A and separately sold Ghost set instead of the giftset. The more creatively painted Ghost will be sold separately with full drone parts and ability to hook up to any 1/60 VF-0. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Yeah, that's my guess too. If that's the case, I'd buy both: the gifset and the drone. Quote
Scream Man Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 The drone would have to be priced cheaper than a Fast Pack set to interest me. But I like the look of the set with Shin to get that one at least. Quote
Dante74 Posted December 8, 2006 Author Posted December 8, 2006 Yes please! But first get the colors right. Quote
kensei Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I thought it was high time that we got a preorder and a retail price point to argue over don't you all agree? And options for what to buy too, bundle or single. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I'm confused. For someone who hasn't watched the anime yet, what the hell should i get? I was waiting for the gift set, Supposeably Shin's, but which is right? red stripes of white? Kawamori-san is saying the red stripes is the go? IF was was to choose, not seeing the anime and knowing what is canon, it would be the red striped 0A. Looks alot sexier to be honest. And the rapid fire pods? Is that colour canon?? It's ugly thats for sure. Tan urk! Quote
Dante74 Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 (edited) By red stripes you mean the Wolf Squadron colors? Those are just a bonus that Yamato added to the stickersheet for the VF-0A and are non-cannon. Shins VF-0A had white stripes. Edited December 9, 2006 by Dante74 Quote

Graham Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 There are no red stripes on any VF-0 in the anime. The only time you will see red stripes on a VF-0 is either on Hasegawa's non-canon VF-0B kit or Yamato's non-canon Wolf Pack stickers. In the OVA Shin first flys a two-tone blue & white VF-0D two-seater that has a white chest stripe. In the final episode he flys a two-tone grey and white VF-0A with a white chest stripe. Graham Quote
kensei Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 (edited) Here are the pics. Looks good in Battroid Mode. Seems to me that the Ghost that is released individually is indeed coloured different. Edited December 11, 2006 by kensei Quote
CF18 Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 (edited) http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/viewthread...;extra=page%3D1 19800 yen MSRP (+tax = 20790) It seems that price includes the VF-0A. Edited December 11, 2006 by CF18 Quote
kensei Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 The ghost is about the cost of a FAST Pack then. Quote
Dante74 Posted December 11, 2006 Author Posted December 11, 2006 The exhaust on the color variant Ghost looks very nicely done. Love the gold look on the inside. No release date set yet? Quote
Macross73 Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Looks good. I like it in battroid. I wasnt sure that it would support the extra weight. Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Does this mean the Ghost will not be available seperately? Quote
Shaggydog Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Did you look at all of the pictures? It appears there's going to be a giftset with a Shin VF-0A, but they will also sell a standalone ghost. The standalone ghost appears to have more white coloring. Quote
RYO Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Makes me wonder if the standalone ghost would look good on the previously released VF-0A, the color of the standalone seems to be off... Do yo guys notice any differences on the VF-0A packaged with the ghost compared to the standalone VF-0A? They almost look the same to me, exept for some stickers/decals... Quote
recon Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Pardon me for saying this, i really feel the digital camo ghost is kind of redundant, as good as it looks..it doesnt blend in with the VF-0S/A and adding to that its asking to be shot down in a hurry with its contrasting color scheme. A lighter shade of grey in place of the bluish grey would blend in nicely with the subtle grey tones. Quote
glane21 Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Which episode of Macross 0 had a ghost fighter in it? I don't recall ever seeing one hooked to a VF. The only ghost I remember seeing was the one in Mac+, which was supposed to have been chosen over the YF-21 and YF-19 to be replacing all piloted fighters, though I guess they changed their minds about that. Episode 5 definiately had them, i can't recall if Ep4 did or not since it's been awhile since i've watched M0. Quote

ghostryder Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Looks like there's white stripes along the shoulders and forearms as well. There's no difference in the colors. Shin's VF-0A just has a white stripe across its chest and forward fuselage. Quote
mister_e Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Hopefully the Shin variant will get the full tampo treatment that the 0S received. This just might be my first VF-0 Quote
Fly4victory Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Episode 5 definiately had them, i can't recall if Ep4 did or not since it's been awhile since i've watched M0. Can not remember the episode but it does appear before 5. It is on the cat about to be launched. Went back a few times to figure out what the gull wing aircraft was and later figured out it was a ghost. Quote
Fly4victory Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 (edited) Thanks Much! That it. Edit: looks like the two tone urban?? "solo" version from Yamato one page back. Edited December 12, 2006 by Fly4victory Quote
Shawn Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Preorder on Yahoo Japan- http://page12.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p73576930 http://page12.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p73576932 Quote
jenius Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Okay folks, looks like $170 is the listed price on these bad boys which would put them at just about $50 more than the standard VF-0. Now all the pricing speculation can die. Looks like one more item I'll wait on until the prices drop a bit.... that thing looks hideous, it'll be easier to wait on it than the YF-19 Quote
Mechamaniac Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 For more proof of the existence of Ghosts, see the MW Updates Page Quote
dizman Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Well, at least we can answer the mystery of how the missle pods stay on the top of the aircraft. In the lower left picture of included accecories you can see the set comes with an extra pair of fuel pods to replace the ones on the vf-0 that have an indent on the top for where the missle pod attaches.
