Metal_Massacre_79 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Finally found Decepticharge at TRU. They had two of them along with about four Swindle's, two Wheeljack's, a Grimlock, a Shockblast and a Ravage. I haven't seen that many Alts there before.
Kin Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Yeah, truck mode is pretty much ass, but that's the sacrifice to have a better looking OP. 346846[/snapback] and I certainly hope I got enough budget to buy one of those... since I really can't afford a masterpiece.
vlenhoff Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 IMO, the cab looks like crap. His forearms are a bit 70'ish and the torso is borderline fat. Too many hotdogs Optimus! Other than alll that, I like the Head and legs. Wow that cab is chunkey! V!C
promethuem5 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Idk... I don't think it's fat, I think the arms and head are too small... seeing these pics, I can't see what this toy has to offer that MPC Convoy doesn't... one $100 Prime is plenty.
vlenhoff Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 (edited) Yeap, I love my MPC Prime. I have it in vehicle mode with the trailer. It looks awesome. If that happens for these new little OP, I'll think about getting it. I have too many toys already. I need to ebay some of my stuff. Edit in: Grammar Edited November 30, 2005 by vlenhoff
zeo-mare Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 the new prime looks cool, i agree that the cab mode looks ugly the front wheels look funny, maybe when we see a fully painted version it might look alittle better, but to be honest he will be displayed on a shelf and most likely he will be in robot mode anyhow so i am not worried. I am definetly getting this, I like the other Convoy they released for this set and i would love to have one like this.
Metal_Massacre_79 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 The new OP isn't bad at all. No more out of proportion than any of the other Transformers that have been release to date. Even the Bin/Alts have some proportion issues, but overall I think it looks better than nearly any other OP toy. (notice I said NEARLY any other, so pick whatever one you think is better)
Fort Max Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 The new op is apparently our old friend Shoji's work. Just saw it mentioned on Amenbo, click on the links to Hybrid Style G1 Convoy to see the listing. Or just read the quote, TRANSFORMERS action figure series "HYBRID STYLE"G1 CONVOY(appears in the Transformers first series. ), 10cm(4 inch) size full poseable figure. The die cast parts are used. Trailer track is transformed to robot. The design of the convoy is renewed for a hybrid style by "Kawamori Shouji" to design a variety of transformation mechanism by "Diaclone" that is the antecedent of the Transformers and "Macross", "Aquarion", and "Eureka Seven", etc.
eriku Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Heh, suddenly I think a lot more people might take interest in this little Prime. I already love it, so knowing that it sprung from the Froating Head is the cherry on top.
Kin Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Aside the interesting prime... I hope to see a masterpiece of this well articulated gobot Porsche.
promethuem5 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 That's actually a bootleg. It's supposed to be Crasher, who's black. I've got another of this bootleg that has blue trim and was actually done up very nicely as a police coup somewhere in storage...

promethuem5 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Really? Huh... I did not know that there were pre-Gobots releases of the toys... guess I learned something new today and stand corrected.

I remember in 80's they sold a very rare machine robo "trim sponsor" (orange truck carrying a green battletank) which was only seen in the machine robo anime. I can't find any info about it on the net. Edited November 30, 2005 by Kin

I found it's nickname "tank transer"!
promethuem5 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Hmmm.... if those are the ones I'm thinking of, I think versions were released for GoBots for the truck at least... orange truck with a transformation really similar to Primes except that the smokestacks became guns and it was one where the engine block juts foreward like modern semi trucks and the cab window piece bacame the head? And the green Battletank, was it a big one that like folded in half and the turret becomes the head? I have both of these but am missing the gun for the tank... it's a pretty cool fig tho.

promethuem5 Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Well, I guess those aren't the ones I was thinking of.... sweet looking tho. Thanks for the info!

Kin Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 After examining picture #2 I'm feeling very uncomfortable noticing the front wheels being displaced from the chassis.
promethuem5 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Holy crap, I just looked at the rest of the pics and realized how small it is. The pics seem alrght, but nothing spectacular. I just don't see what this has to offer that MPC Convoy didn't already deliver on. Aside from a trailer, which is really just alot of deadspace I have no room for, what will the little one have that the big guy doesn't?

Oh....I just saw your new AV.
VF-19 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Spotted a couple of Cybertron Evacs at my local TRU yesterday, and picked one up. Seriously, this is one dead cool helicopter. Yah, it's a rescue helicopter, but a very well designed one at that. Pretty posible too. Strange thing is, it's not listed on Hasbro's website (aside from the itty bitty version). I also picked up Sidways a couple of weeks ago, and I've not seen another one since. Also, it would appear that the local Wal-Mart has stopped stocking transformers... Right before Christmas... STUPID!
Black Valkyrie Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 We have Gundam Girls, fan made VF-1 Girls and now TF Girls !
wolfx Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Those designs are based off sister princess, and bordering on kiddy pr0n.
Fort Max Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Gundam girls seem almost tastefull compared to those.
vlenhoff Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 (edited) Wow, that last pic of Optimus really looks good. I can't belive the size of hte little succker! How much would it be for it. I kind'o wan't it now. Edited December 6, 2005 by vlenhoff
