  1. Past hour
  2. Please! I’d love a Nousjadeaul-Ger at 1/72. Not like that 1/144 sitting in my backlog. It was definitely false advertising that made me buy that, and not me forgetting what scale my other kits were…
  3. Not Mine, but from the Macross Subreddit
  4. Eh, maybe this is controversial but as long as the Glaug is about 9 inches tall I’m fine with that. The 16.5 meter height I see consistently listed would land it about there if the scale is right. That’ll keep it looking decent next to the other models and let it menacingly pinwheel its arms at them If it’s hard to fit a Zentradi pilot in there, that seems more a conflict with existing world building than it is a fault of the modeler. Besides, maybe the Zentradi aren’t big on comfortable seating 😅 If the model isn’t about 9 inches all bets are off though. I’ll have one in hand soon enough to be able to tell!
  5. Found from FB, and seems to be a screen capture from latest Macross Showroom episode.
  6. It showed up on the box art for the Max and basic Queadluun Rau kits, so I’m really hoping for it. It’s one thing to tease it once, but multiple times should mean something
  7. Niceee.. I'm sure the eagle-eyed will spot some interesting details from above pic. I'm wondering if the mold will have more similarities with the DX YF-19, or will be like the HMR VF-19 ie based closely on Yamcadia's. I'm seeing the gap at the knee extension, so I'm gonna assume the latter. Guess we'll wait another week to know more on 24th.
  8. Today
  9. Thanks for posting the assembly video, it looks like a fun build. I'm amazed no glue for something that large. I understand some of the dimensions aren't ideal holding to the line art, but I still like it a lot, just as there are many variations on every release of the basic VF-1. I can't wait for the Nousjadeaul-Ger which HAS to be coming up next-in DYRL style to match the Quead.
  10. Some of the 3d print models available now are much closer to the designs in the show - much more funky organic shapes than these old kits. I've got a couple of resin printers myself, but I've resisted printing anything as large - mostly sticking to miniatures. I can't imagine there'd be much profit for someone like Hasegawa to develop entirely new tooling for a line like this... then again, they do seem to cater for very small runs of niche stuff like Ma.K kits. So you never know! Something the size and intricacy (moving turrets, opening hatches, etc) of a 1/500 Space Battleship Yamato 2199 like Bandai currently produces would be amazing.
  11. Would you like to see my mask 😁.
  12. The Wave SR3 Engage is coming along. I had to strip a few pieces last night which I had mistakenly painted the wrong color “frame vs armor” so yeah that happened…otherwise it’s been a fun one. Lots of opportunities to play with color, transparency, and sparkly layers. There are quite a few areas where masking for small color panels was a bit of a skill check for me but great learning experience. I think they came out ok. I’m digging the strong L-Gaim vibes. ♥️
  13. The whole kit is a disappointment, to be honest. They weren't faithful to the source material in terms of details or proportions, and the whole mech is still too small, especially compared to the Regult. I've seen some modelers try to shoehorn a pilot into the cockpit, but it just makes the thing look worse.
  14. There are a couple of sellers on EvilBay selling 3D printed copies at different scales 1/10000, 1/8000 for around $40. I wish big companies would gear up to sell bigger scaled ships but is probably not profitable.
  15. Oppressive and hopeless. Militaristic narration in the background makes everything more intense
  16. Reshaping 3P MP hands. The material is really strong and works well with this scale.
  17. @SteveTheFish Your armored 1J looks good in that scheme! I think it's more accurate. In reality, stuff like drop-tanks and gunpods are for the fleet, not an individual. I think armored add-ons would be the same - especially with how expensive something like that would be. The Enterprise is looking good! @nightmareB4macross "This is my evil twin brother. He's also more ugly than me!"🤣 Did I miss something, are those printed hands and fingers? - MT
  18. Man, ALL those are looking REALLY great! I LOVE the Zent capital ships! I can only hope that one day Hasagawa gives us updated larger ones!! Hey- I guy can dream right?!
  19. I don't usually care much for "that one thing from that one episode" goes, but I love that they included his trumpet. And even chromed it! God yes. I love that on every toy it exists on, going back to when I was a wee laddie taking Slag into the bathtub with me(there's reasons my childhood Slag looks rough today).
  20. The last set I have been working on was the pair of Quiltra-Queleual models. I admit to being in two minds of these. I think the design of the assault craft is a good one; it definitely gives it a different feel to the other Zentradi ships, as befitting the mass troop carrier, landing-craft type role which makes it more distinct than the other designs. But, the way Arii produced it makes it arguably the weakest implementation of the four models. Firstly, the upper/lower hull design on this one is a major pain to get aligned correctly (I'd argue that the two hull sections are not quite produced the same size), and then there's the giant seam line which runs the entire circumference of the ship. Unlike all the other designs there is no way to hide this. It just needs lots of sanding and filling. Then there's the fact that the Arii molds for this ship have almost no detail on the sides - there are a couple of panel lines, but you could reasonably argue that the majority of the side of the ship is entirely flat and devoid of detail. It's not even that I've sanded it all away whilst trying to remove the giant seam line, because this is what it looks like straight from the sprue: Using Mr Surfacer 1500 to fill seam line: Both kits nearly ready for primer. I tried to scribe some extra definition to the (poor) detail which was already there, as straight from the sprue it's very, very faint and would likely be mostly hidden after primer and paint: Fortunately the big seam is now mostly hidden: Adding main areas of flat colour: Waterslide decals and Tamiya ink panel lines applied - the upper and lower sections are nicely detailed - it's just that the sides are mostly flat! Both kits panel lined and decaled. I haven't finished this pair yet - I still need to get a coat of satin varnish on and get some weathering and washes applied. I don't expect them to look as good as the other designs as there's not a lot to work with on the sides of the model
  21. The eye decals are leftover for the Hasegawa Eggplane Girl resin kit I'm also working on. You can see the face in the lower left-hand corner of the photo. Fortunately, not only do they give you a choice of eyes, but they also provide several in case you screw it up. I have the 1400 Enterprise E myself, in a First Contact box. I just recently bought aztec decals for it from HDA Modelworx.
