The set will come with parts for 1/72 , alternate slightly more detailed parts for 1/48 version. Split parts for smaller 3d printers, and non split parts if you have an industrial printer. As well as all that , it will include all sizes at 1/1 so everything can be scaled at will with instructions on what percent to scale the parts to for the scale you want ( ex its 13.89 percent for 1/72). All parts have interlocking pieces so its easier to fit and glue.

From personal experience, they aren't malicious, just sometimes they lose track of things. So my gut tells me you'll get a response and everythingwill be resolved for you. If history holds true.

I'm sometimes working on this Dirty Pair garage kit I bought at Wonder Festival in Chiba about 10 years ago. The last time I touched this was in 2021 I think. Now I've done a dry fit to test it out. Just using pins and blue tack to keep it together. The guy who made this kit also made other Lovely Angel kits, as well as Zentraedi and Meltrandi fleet ships. He introduced me to the head of Studio Nue... I forget his name because I am apparently not a big enough fan. IIRC, I think he told me that Kei's character was sort of inspired by his wife. Don't quote me on that.

Yeah, I don't see Starscream et al getting the Missing Link treatment, because as much as they'd love to(one mold with six color schemes is WAY more profitable than six molds) it just doesn't seem possible to do the arms. But I've been wrong before, and TT has a financial interest in making it work.- 17088 replies

Arii 1/20000 Zentradi ships... building after decades!

I probably had to leave most of the decals for all of these kits soaking for a good 5 minutes before trying to remove from the backing paper... But they did all eventually release without tearing. That's impressive enough for kits from the 1990's... but getting decals that are 40+ years old to work, that would be almost a miracle! -
I thought they would drag this out but nope, guess we're doin' this. Get ready for some real brutal stuff.

I'm so sorry you've had to do that. I would think they'd have answered long before now.

The issue, since the goal is to approximate the OG toy, warts and all, would be to reproduce the added fist without partsforming, meaning they'll have to figure a point to insert elbows and then figure a way to create that oversized fist and make each fold into a wafer the same width as the upper arm to fill in the belly of the jet as unobtrusively as possible since the OG toy didn't have anything in that space. Much like slavish devotion to toon accuracy has affected certain figs, the most recent MP Starscream's ghastly alt mode comes to mind, the Missing Link's slavish devotion to preserving the look of the original toys, many of which suffered poor proportions and other shortcomings, will prove to be the line's Achille's Heal, IMHO. The OG Seeker design hasn't aged well and most toys now emulate a cross between toon and toy or straight toon, which benefitted from some of the toy's proportions being adjusted to look better, especially the arms and legs. Unfortunately, Takara can't incorporate any toon magic to spruce up the look of these figs, so for a number of them those poor proportions and partsforming bits are going challenge the designers while also somewhat hindering the toys themselves. The old adage, "You can't polish a turd' comes to mind, and while that may sound harsh and disrespectful, that's not the spirit in which I mention it; I mean it more from a practical design perspective. Theses shape-shifting toys represented an interesting new play pattern with a lot of thought and craftsmanship put into them (the prototypes were often carved out of wood!); however, ultimately so much more focus was placed on the puzzle aspect and creating realistic believable alt modes while the robot modes remained secondary considerations, which is generally where we see the greatest weaknesses of the Diaclone and Micochange and hence G1 toys. Those weaknesses are going to carry over by dint of preserving the look of the toys in both modes and many are going to fare poorer than others. If indeed they do the Seeker, or Megatron, both are going to suffer from carrying over the minuses of those early toys. That said, I'd still pick up a Missing Link Megatron having never owned the OG toy but still finding it pretty darn cool in its own way. To that end, I favor what Has/Tak did with the Legacy United deluxe class Optimus Prime where they closely approximated the look of the G1 toy, but made little improvements i.e. different shaped, better proportioned forearms with integrated fists and a nicely hinged cover for his back (no gaping hole like the OG). I think a furtherance of this line would be interesting, as, lacking that imperative to mirror the OG toy exactingly, they could introduce more "fixes" to correct the odd proportion or hindrance of the OG toy while still skewing very closely towards how it looked. I like that approach, and it would make for an interesting third option for folks like me who aren't really all-in on the Missing Link line and who aren't interested in collecting the G1 toys, either, due to their shortcomings. My feeling is that LU deluxe Prime is probably a one-and-done sort of figure, but I wouldn't object to more characters getting the treatment, especially at the more affordable price range compared to ML.- 17088 replies

Hahaha. 😂 I find the thick clunky style of the older kits so endearing. It’s fun to see it reappear more refined.

@Thom HAHA. Kit”s” is right. Very nice. @nightmareB4macross echoing what Thom said, I’m really digging the hands. 👍 Sometimes the strangest things show up at the bench. This was my dessert after dinner. Ice cream would have been nice, but you work with what ya got. This was such a fun chunk of a build. I’m excited to paint this sucker. It was cool that the instructions included comparisons between the OG release and all the new technologies that went into this “revival” version. A lot has changed in 45 years.

Thrawn seems like he’s not smart enough for a trap or ruse. He was pretty lame last season

Oh boy, a grand final confrontation between two massively overhyped characters... 🤣 On the Republic side, Hera Syndulla... a "tactical genius" who makes surprised Pikachu faces whenever flying directly at the enemy and getting shot down doesn't win the day. On the Empire side, Grand Admiral Thrawn... a man whose "tactical genius" amounts to little more than not being comically incompetent and delegating the inevitable screwup which lets the Rebels win and escape to a subordinate with more ambition than brains.

Two great things, one show!
