MCU is dead as I can't convince my wife to go see this movie for date night. Starting with IRON MAN we saw most of the MCU films less than a year after we started dating and it pretty much stopped after End Game. Oh well, lol.- 33 replies

Just to clarify: One 1800x2400 image (allowed) is 4.3 million pixels. 1200x1600 images are 1.9 million pixels. Two are 3.8, which is what I posted. Facially, I thought I was within the limits. So before anyone else gets caught in this I just want to make sure folks know. Although I think I might have goofed on the munchkin kickstarter.- 635 replies

Seems to have worked pretty good for the interim. She feels perhaps a little too smooth but not sticky or slimy in an unpleasant way. The dress one perhaps less so than the other two. This week, I also managed to find my originals from when they were first new and they are about as good as the newly opened ones after several washes. It makes me think it has a lot to do with humidity, as my original have been kept in a humidity controlled area for most of the time.

Just to assist here- As camera quality has greatly increased over the years, the picture sizes have too. Remember all the user posted content on this site sits on the one little server-just a teeny thing tucked away in some corner of some datacenter. We are have about 160GB of pictures on the server over the last 20 years, with a big increase lately due to better tech. So this is just a simple 'ask' from the staff to try and limit super large pics for non Macross items to reasonable sizes and quantities. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!! Your Most Recent General Toy Purchase - 2024 Edition
azrael replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hi, please reduce the size or your pictures per the rules: === ). Maximum uploads of 3 pictures of a toy even if you bought two. That means if you bought DC Batman you can post a combination of boxed and opened pics of up to three here. Anymore than three will get the post deleted. If you bought another copy of the same DC Batman toy that does not constitute as a different toy and does not earn you three new photos. The moderation team considers that spamming and will be deleted. Text link to an external photo gallery if you have more than three pictures to share. 2). Image size: Height maximum per toy will now be set to 2400pixels for 3 pictures combined. That means one high resolution picture at 2400pixels or three decent resolution picture of 800pixels each.- 635 replies

Nice work on yours! Looks really good there, and I see no bubbles or misaligned decals! (That reminds me: I have my own 1/1400 E-E (thrift store model rescue!) I have to obtain wallpaper decals for.)

Or more than triple if that 245% number is correct. BBTS had given out warning emails over the weekend before the new numbers were mentioned and it sounds like a good majority of their products will be affected

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Seto Kaiba replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
This might serve as a good example of why one shouldn't judge a book by its cover... or its author. Master File's explanation of the New UN Forces history, produced under Kawamori's supervision, is more an attempt to reconcile an onscreen contradiction and is firmly based on official setting material. The contradiction in question being that we don't see the New UN Forces livery onscreen until (Ozma's flashbacks to) 2048 in Macross Frontier's TV series, but the New UN Forces were first mentioned in the post-war arc of the original Macross TV series some 37 in-universe years and 25 real world years earlier. Kodachi's explanation isn't really based on anything except the idea that the government imposed reforms on the military after the events of Macross VF-X2 and the fact that the NUNS livery is seen for the first time in Macross Frontier... even though we also see it in a flashback to events BEFORE Kodachi claims the NUNS existed. -

Arii 1/20000 Zentradi ships... building after decades!
megatron-uk replied to megatron-uk's topic in Model kits
My first completed ship out of the set is the Nupetiet-Vergnitzs. This needed a minor amount of filling and sanding, though limited to just the front edge of the main hull section (yes, it's a bit flat faced compared to the series, isn't it!). But other than that it goes together fairly easily (there isn't a lot in the way of parts, and fortunately not nearly as many tiny little antenna/radio protrusions as the smaller ships). Surface detail is nice, and pretty good for such an old kit. Despite the front section being different, I think it stands up reasonably well considering the age. It was simple to paint, though quite refreshing compared to having to paint and detail loads of sub-sections as on modern kits. Paints/colours used: Badger Ultimate Airbrush Primer (dark grey) Vallejo Model Air Panzer Dark Grey (pre-shading) Vallejo Mecha Colour Dark Green (main green hull section + used unthinned straight from bottle for random panels) Vallejo Mecha Colour Medum Grey + MIG French Blue (grey hull section, about a 70:30 mix) Vallejo Model Air Red RLM23 (red highlights) AK Interactive Silver Grey (grey external tanks) MIG Medium Gunship Gray (panel highlights) AK Interactive Winter Streaking Grime AK Interactive Rust Streaks Tamiya weathering master set 'B' (smoke/rust pastels) Small amount of surface filler and sanding - though this kit benefits from having that recessed profile around the circumference to hide the two hull sections: A little bit of pre-shading, mostly of benefit to the lower hull: Main parts assembled and painted: Initial panel lines to recessed areas: Adding on the waterslide decals. I am absolutely amazed that not one of the decals ripped or refused to release from the backing paper. They went on really well after a slightly longer than usual soak: And the final finish with enamel washes and pastel weathering applied:- 1 reply

megatron-uk started following Arii 1/20000 Zentradi ships... building after decades!
-
I've had a full set of the 1/20000 Zentradi ships in a backlog of unbuilt kits since at least the year 2000, possibly even earlier. I finally dug them out and opened the shrinkwrap around a month ago. I've realised that these are from the 15th anniversary re-release, and so (most) of them also came with the unpainted character figures: ... but that's another topic in itself. I have two of the Quiltra-Queleual, two of the Queadol-Magdomilla, one Thuverl-Salan and one Nupetiet-Vergnitzs. I'd guess that around the time of the original release of these kits in the 80's I'd have been playing with old-style Airfix kits... complete with horrid pack-in Humbrol enamels and paintbrushes you could paint your house with! Things have changed over the years, and these days I'm having fun with modern Macross releases from Bandai and Hasegawa, or 3D printed miniature figures and snap-fit, no-glue kits. We really are spoiled these days! Going back to these kits was like taking a step back into the past - while the molding is mostly decent (and detailed - especially on the Thuverl-Salan and Nupetiet-Vergnitzs), it brought back memories of filling and sanding seam lines, swearing when parts didn't line up quite right, and generally shouting out loud; "Why put the join there?" Still, all good fun!
-
Is that a TV VF-1S or DYRL? Judging by the color of the metal plate under the intake I guess is a TV.
-
Ah, thanks... I actually just went looking through the boxes of the kits and found the same mini-catalogue linked above. Not every box had one of those fold-out catalogues, though the two Quiltra-Queleual kits had them. So it looks like I would need Max, Misa and Miria to complete the set!
