  1. Past hour
  2. Given Kodachi's prominent status in the franchise ever since Frontier and Delta, I'm inclined to believe his version of events - not to mention that Master File, from what I understand, plays things very "fast and loose". Of course, "canon" is what we make of it, and all.
  3. Yeah, this was a good one, a slightly different take on the genre. No sparkles here.
  4. Leslie Nielson just had a way of delivering deadpan lines, and the humor was always at the forefront of his films, be it Naked Gun or Dracula: Dead and Loving It. Other than the little girl gag, all I see is another Liam Neeson film where he's a crack assassin, special operative, spy- what have you, much like every Jason Statham film is yet another Jason Statham film starring Jason Statham as Jason Statham if he, too, were a crack assassin, special operative, spy, what have you. I just get the sense this is going to be more Taken, The Commuter, The Ice Road, etc ad nauseum with a touch of silly humor thrown in. So many of the 80s films are classics b/c it's nigh impossible to recapture what made them memorable, unique, elevated above the scores of other films that didn't quite make such an impact. I'm not really a fan of silly humor like Naked Gun or the Mel Brooks films but my wife is and she owns all of it. I've watched a good bit of it with her and in spite of my feelings towards these kiinds of films, I've had a good laugh or three watching them, such is the absurdity, the enormous talent of the actors and directors to pull off the schtick so well, and the ability to so successfully parody other films, usually in the action genre, although what Star Wars fan hasn't sat through at least one watching of Brooks' Spaceballs without a few chuckles. There's an art and a mad genius behind making these types of films successfully, and I'm extremely dubious that this new incarnation will live up to its inspiration.
  5. @nightmareB4macross Oh yeah! Love seeing the updates.
  6. Pretty much. ALIEN3 was the well made film that we didn't want as a sequel, lol. WTF were they thinking back then?? Of course I can say the same about other film sequels today, ugh. On a side note it seems HULU is working to earn some Predator and ALIEN bucks in a good way, hope it lasts.
  7. Hey guys! not a Vf 25, but just discovered my TV Super VF 1S Yammie, fell victim to father time. It was yellowing but seemed to hold pretty good, however just discovered it quickly worsened on the right side, it was on display on a most of the time dark room, with no direct sun light or artifitial light. Funny that one side has yellowed more than the other... shame! maybe i'll try to cover it with a custom weathering
  8. @nightmareB4macross Those are some really marked improvements over the stock. Wow. I'd say the original one is looking jealous. @SteveTheFish Good looking work with the decals. Where are the eyes going..?
  9. Today
  10. Hmm no idea about current fair price, just stay away from ebay... prices are over inflated, and you can never know the mileage of the set. Check www.mandarake.com which is a very trustworthy japanese store for new and used items, in most cases in pristine conditions. For how to shop there are tutorials on youtube that can help. Hope this helps!
  11. Unless things change, the $800 de minimis exemption is set to expire on May 2. I've luckily got in a couple orders that were delivered in the past couple days to beat the deadline. I've cancelled a number of preorders that clearly weren't going to beat that May 2 deadline as the items simply weren't worth the costs anymore.
  12. The first eight Nacelle figures are now available for preorder from BigBadToyStore, for $33 each... ...although once they're released, tariffs will likely double the cost. 🤕
  13. I worked a lot on my Enterprise E kit last night, laying down more decals. The topside decals went down more easily because the surface doesn't have deep concave sections. I've cut out the red and blue warp nacelle parts of the decals to lay them down without interfering with the blue fluorescent paint. I got to the point where I had to stop. Due to the nature of having to handle the kit, I wouldn't want to run the risk of handling it with wet decals lest they come off on my hands, right? I just did one side of one nacelle so far. My plan to just cut out the red and blue parts from the decals worked though, so I'm pleased with that. Oh, and there's one big U-shaped decal that goes along the front. I did not have confidence that it would survive, so I cut it essentially in half (in a blank part of the aztec pattern) and put it down in two sections.
  14. That's been my understanding as well. Well, it supposedly increased further as of a few hours ago. It's now 245%.
  15. That was usually the case but the latest announcement dropped the de minimis exemption because they're so paranoid of companies working around the tariffs creatively. Of course, none of us know what the final shape of any of this will look like so hopefully things like that exception are brought back swiftly and we can all go about our collecting with a sigh of relief.
  16. I’ve been hearing that if the shipper is sending individual orders for less than $800, then it’s exempt. I don’t know how that works or if it does at all. They’re saying that if you order from a store or warehouse and it’s under that amount, then no tariff, but if someone like an American store that orders in bulk would have to pay. I don’t want to be spreading misinformation, but just that there seems to be some alternate versions of what’s allowed and what isn’t.
  17. From what I've read, it's pretty clear. If the product says Made In China on the box, it gets the China tariff wherever it's being shipped from. What someone else essentially raised was what if a Japanese shipper lies or refuses to declare place of manufacture on the customs label, and whether someone might open a package to check that or not. Well, that's like shipping cocaine through customs. You never know what would prompt someone to randomly pull your package, but last I heard dogs couldn't sniff out Guangdong. If the shipper is caught lying about place of manufacture, I believe they will be penalized, though, and more likely than not a lot of their packages would be pulled going forward.
  18. Yeah, I got it. It's a major improvement in both editing and visual effects, and probably the best version of Alien 3 we're ever gonna get.
  19. I already pre-ordered this. The original Leo was the best of the three I've received so far.
