  1. Past hour
  2. Some of the 3d print models available now are much closer to the designs in the show - much more funky organic shapes than these old kits. I've got a couple of resin printers myself, but I've resisted printing anything as large - mostly sticking to miniatures. I can't imagine there'd be much profit for someone like Hasegawa to develop entirely new tooling for a line like this... then again, they do seem to cater for very small runs of niche stuff like Ma.K kits. So you never know! Something the size and intricacy (moving turrets, opening hatches, etc) of a 1/500 Space Battleship Yamato 2199 like Bandai currently produces would be amazing.
  3. Would you like to see my mask šŸ˜.
  4. The Wave SR3 Engage is coming along. I had to strip a few pieces last night which I had mistakenly painted the wrong color ā€œframe vs armorā€ so yeah that happenedā€¦otherwise itā€™s been a fun one. Lots of opportunities to play with color, transparency, and sparkly layers. There are quite a few areas where masking for small color panels was a bit of a skill check for me but great learning experience. I think they came out ok. Iā€™m digging the strong L-Gaim vibes. ā™„ļø
  5. The whole kit is a disappointment, to be honest. They weren't faithful to the source material in terms of details or proportions, and the whole mech is still too small, especially compared to the Regult. I've seen some modelers try to shoehorn a pilot into the cockpit, but it just makes the thing look worse.
  6. Today
  7. There are a couple of sellers on EvilBay selling 3D printed copies at different scales 1/10000, 1/8000 for around $40. I wish big companies would gear up to sell bigger scaled ships but is probably not profitable.
  8. Oppressive and hopeless. Militaristic narration in the background makes everything more intense
  9. Reshaping 3P MP hands. The material is really strong and works well with this scale.
  10. @SteveTheFish Your armored 1J looks good in that scheme! I think it's more accurate. In reality, stuff like drop-tanks and gunpods are for the fleet, not an individual. I think armored add-ons would be the same - especially with how expensive something like that would be. The Enterprise is looking good! @nightmareB4macross "This is my evil twin brother. He's also more ugly than me!"šŸ¤£ Did I miss something, are those printed hands and fingers? - MT
  11. Man, ALL those are looking REALLY great! I LOVE the Zent capital ships! I can only hope that one day Hasagawa gives us updated larger ones!! Hey- I guy can dream right?!
  12. I don't usually care much for "that one thing from that one episode" goes, but I love that they included his trumpet. And even chromed it! God yes. I love that on every toy it exists on, going back to when I was a wee laddie taking Slag into the bathtub with me(there's reasons my childhood Slag looks rough today).
  13. The last set I have been working on was the pair of Quiltra-Queleual models. I admit to being in two minds of these. I think the design of the assault craft is a good one; it definitely gives it a different feel to the other Zentradi ships, as befitting the mass troop carrier, landing-craft type role which makes it more distinct than the other designs. But, the way Arii produced it makes it arguably the weakest implementation of the four models. Firstly, the upper/lower hull design on this one is a major pain to get aligned correctly (I'd argue that the two hull sections are not quite produced the same size), and then there's the giant seam line which runs the entire circumference of the ship. Unlike all the other designs there is no way to hide this. It just needs lots of sanding and filling. Then there's the fact that the Arii molds for this ship have almost no detail on the sides - there are a couple of panel lines, but you could reasonably argue that the majority of the side of the ship is entirely flat and devoid of detail. It's not even that I've sanded it all away whilst trying to remove the giant seam line, because this is what it looks like straight from the sprue: Using Mr Surfacer 1500 to fill seam line: Both kits nearly ready for primer. I tried to scribe some extra definition to the (poor) detail which was already there, as straight from the sprue it's very, very faint and would likely be mostly hidden after primer and paint: Fortunately the big seam is now mostly hidden: Adding main areas of flat colour: Waterslide decals and Tamiya ink panel lines applied - the upper and lower sections are nicely detailed - it's just that the sides are mostly flat! Both kits panel lined and decaled. I haven't finished this pair yet - I still need to get a coat of satin varnish on and get some weathering and washes applied. I don't expect them to look as good as the other designs as there's not a lot to work with on the sides of the model
  14. The eye decals are leftover for the Hasegawa Eggplane Girl resin kit I'm also working on. You can see the face in the lower left-hand corner of the photo. Fortunately, not only do they give you a choice of eyes, but they also provide several in case you screw it up. I have the 1400 Enterprise E myself, in a First Contact box. I just recently bought aztec decals for it from HDA Modelworx.
  15. Haha! Yes, those rivets would be something like several metres/yards wide going by the stated scale of the ships!
  16. Added The Real Ghostbusters - Peter Venkman (with Slimer) Pop! Vinyl Figure and the Loot Crate Ghostbusters - Peter Venkman Slimed Figure
  17. For me FansToys is really going too far with their super toon look. I think their Constructicons would look so much better with the old design approach with more surface detail and better proportions. I really miss the days of FansToys translucent plastic over silver greebles that looked so good. While I have Ghery (and Wright on the way) I think MMC will deliver the best Devastator package. While FT has the best combined mode and XTB the best robot/alt modes I think MMC will be the best overall. MMC also uses the all-in-one approach and usually takes great care of their engineering. That means their Devastator will probably be fun to handle too. I really hope Takaraā€™s Style Gen MPG line will be a success and steer the MP line away from slavish toon worshipping so that the 3rd party companies will follow suit. I also think it is odd that FT follows a more integrated approach for their Devastator (but it is not an all-in-one). Again this is detrimental to the Constructicons as a whole. Wright would look a lot better if the backpack could collapse into the space where the block with the arm resides. Ghery and Wright could also much better proportions if all the structural parts of the combiner were reallocated to a Devastator frame. Iā€™m also worried that the 3rd party companies wonā€™t see all the Devastators to completion. From a toy manufacturing perspective the US market potentially being inaccessible due to tariffs must hurt those companies in some way.
  18. Not yet available to order. Most likely $54.99 at Hasbro Pulse.

    HMR VF-19P

Yeah I wouldn't mind having at least 1 of every type of HMR Valkyrie in a Roy scheme. I love the VF-4G Roy. Someday I'll get to customizing a VF-2SS. I'll probably wait a little to order a 3rd VF-19P.
