Or...how about leaving the 80s in the past, employ some creativity, and make something new that will continue to be iconic in its own way thirty, forty years from now. I grew up in the 80s and I love that time period for all of its quirkiness and mad creativity, but I can't understand why we don't have that same level of creativity today, especially with all the tools available now that weren't back then. Moreover, where are the Stephen Spielbergs, the James Camerons, of this generation creating the iconic films for the next few generations to milk ad nauseum? At this point, it's a sad state of affairs that these 40+year-old properties continue to be rehashed, generally in a lackluster and forgettable manner, instead of new IPs and franchises being created to bring new life and interest to American media. For the most part, I don't want to see the old shows rehashed; I enjoyed the originals and they made their marks for a reason. Too, as @Big s mentioned, they were products of the era in which they were made, and that's largely key to their charm and longevity. Much of what made them cool just won't translate, at least not well or authentically. I look no further than the recent spate of Ghostbusters films, all of which missed the mark a bit compared to the original films, and that comes down to the original idea, the camaraderie and talents of the original cast and director, and a lot of quotable dialog and memorable scenes throughout both films. They just didn't capture any of that in the new films and they will never be considered as popular or as groundbreaking as the og films. That argument can be made for just about every 80s property that Hollywood continues to mine in lieu of new ideas. So glad I grew up in the 80s- between Saturday morning cartoons and all the evening shows like Knight Rider, to the Indiana Jones films and Star Wars, we were part of a creative landscape in tv and film that I doubt will ever again be equaled, alas.

Not only more -- number of dedicated fans vs "professionals" working for the Mouse makes it a given -- but superior in almost every single way except polish.

Fixed! I just used a bit of Tamiya's pink brown wash and then used Tamiya gloss pink acrylic for her tongue. Here's a link to my photoset on Tumblr.

Bandai being nonsensically wasteful seems fairly common. I've just encountered it yesterday, while fitting crotch armor on the Ozma, trying to understand why there are two armored crotches. Following that, wondered why the battroid stand adapter that caused the former to even need to exist, when the non armor battroid adapter already works with the armor. I was also rememinded a few days ago, that bandai pumps out a whole dedicated mini runner for what is akin to a single zaku's eye lense on their 30MM line. It could have just been a small area of that color, tacked onto a larger runner. For what they wasted, they could have put 20 duplicates chained into a single stick, to split the risk of damage and loss, for not having all the protection and identification that comes with a full runner, and still saved materials while handing out spares.

Nice one. -
@pengbuzz Thanks for the head's up Pengbuzz! Oh no! We finally "get back" a good stock of classic anime models and their company is not looking good. I've bought from them about three times now and no problem. I hope they're not folding 😕 @SteveTheFish Nice and clean paint! She looks good, especially with the patches as Chas said. - MT

Hey, you're right! I overlooked that detail. Thanks!

I'm cool with a Miami Vice reboot but a series would be more ideal than a movie. They should also cast Dakota Johnson as Sunny Crockett. Yes, I'm serious.

Heir to the Empire anime adaptation is a heckuva concept. If Disney has any brains left they should use this idea to adapt these books and others in high quality animated form to add content to their weak af library. They can call it STAR WARS: Adapt or non-canon or something along those lines. On that note its pretty sad the fans are creating more Star Wars content than Disney is, lol.

Nice job Greg! One thing though, it doesn't look like there's any colour on her mouth which makes it kinda disappear. Really great job on the details of her coveralls. The zippers and badges in particular.

You may be in luck then, as it's no longer available at that price. EDIT: Actually, $220.83 now. Let's see where that goes.

Oh yes, the imagineers at Disneyland could repurpose one of the more pallid animatronic waifs from Pirates of the Caribbean, hang her prostrate in front of the guests, have her moan "Kill me!" as a chestburster violently thrusts out of her bosom, and all the little kids get sprayed with her blood. Great fun for the whole family! 😄
