For the 30th anniversary of Front Mission, is Kotobukiya going to release a definitive Zenith wanzer figure? Nope, they are going to imagine it as big-boobied blonde anime chick :- 102 replies

Sentenced to be a Hero Eps 1 was what OPM season 2 and 3 wished it was. I'm following this series now. - Today

I gotta say, I can't afford it, and even if I cooould afford it, I have ZERO space to put that BEAST, but it does look pretty darn cool in Soldier Mode with all the hatches opened up!

Mine was generated based on my email handle: vf0phoenix. Which is of course based on the VF-0 and the then still unofficial name. Since Phoenix wouldn't work, I added first the 01, then later the 690, which was from my old submarine, USS Philadelphia SSN690. My avatar is a drawing I did on the computer back in 1998 of the VF-19 in battroid mode. -

I started Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord: Production Magic Turns a Nameless Village into the Strongest Fortified City. Nothing about it seems original. I am not sure I will stick with it. -
I don't get why people are being so negative about the Toyrise/TakaraTomy/Another Genesis stuff. We're finally getting MOSPEADA TOYS! These are toys! Remember stuff that didn't need to be accurate to a 40-year old anime, but could just be fun? Remember when toys would become more affordable by having a mold get minor modifications or get repackaged in new colors with new accessories? Remember when people were ok with radar dishes on Macross Valkyries? We have a ton of expensive stuff that's fairly accurate, and a bunch that is less accurate but still expensive and absolutely zero fun to handle or transform. I have four display cases of MOSPEADA stuff that I only look at, and am absolutely content to have some colorful, fun, imaginative toys to actually play with. (I think the last time I just had fun transforming an anime toy was... hmmm... Yamato Bubblegum Crisis Motoslaves, which were way more durable than their Megazone 23 Garlands)

I saw that. Still going to hold off as i would only be getting it for the figures. And with the crazy shipping costs, it's not very interesting. That sounds like a fun visit. I hope you waved hello to all my stuff languishing in the warehouse I shipped one if my Rau's and a Glaug and a VF-11w boosters and Rim world vF-171 and a few other items. Ouch! But it's arriving today The next shipment is going to cost more..
-
I know what you mean. I have two Q-Rau TV versions in my Private Warehouse where shipping will cost me about 20% more than the price of the kits combined. I don't see any option around it as I really want the kits. In hindsight, I probably should of bought only one. But, if I was to buy one of these kits locally they would easily cost 2.5x as much as the HLJ price. So either way it'll be expensive for me. From now on, I'll just need to be more conscious of potential shipping costs.
-
Shoot. My SDF kit is still in my HLJ Private Warehouse waiting on a couple of open orders before I pull the trigger to ship.
-
Gorgeous! Thanks for the inspiration, Sir!
-
I'd love to get my stuff shipped from HLJ. But right now, the cheapest way to ship my Queadluun Rau TV version is over 13000yen. That's almost triple the kit cost. It's insane. Queadluun Rau TV version plus Glaug? Over 25000yen to ship. So really, what am I supposed to do?
-
Looking forward to those Mospeada figures!
-
Thanks for the nostalgia! Sent me right back to the Christmas Joker episode.
-
Good job! I always love a little Q-Rau love.

Awesome progress! Going to have to follow this build closely. 🙂

This has Kill Bill vibes- different premise, but the snark and fighting feel similar. Looks like an exceedingly fun film. Rip looks interesting as well. Will give it a watch.

Well, if other folks are like me, they're less concerned with the character and more so with the design. Done right, like SS86, he has both nice looking bot and car modes which makes for a desirable toy. Design and aesthetics have always mattered to me more than lore. I've never quite understood not getting a cool looking toy due to its portrayal in media. Toys appeal to me on their own merits. Wouldn't mind owning the Earth version of Hound (I have the Siege toy), but Classics Hound, one of my favorite figures, has been filling the role in my first season G1 display for years, and I'm fine with that being a continual state as I already have the other four characters in their non-toony goodness and I feel no compunction to double-dip. I think they're all good figures on the whole, though, so for those who didn't manage to get their hands on the previous individual releases, this is a nice set, especially if you're down with the plain toon look. First, what a wonderfully terrible pun! I actually LOLed when I read it, despite myself. Bravo, sir, bravo! Second, is it me or does he look more like some alternate universe Iron Man than a Transformer? To me, it looks more like a weird suit of armor or like it's a guy doing cosplay. Give me the G1 designs any day b/c at least they look like they turn into stuff.- 17942 replies

Getting work done on this KOG Schpeltor. So far so good I guess. The masking fluid will not be replacing good old masking tape. The edge the masking fluid created was rough and also didn’t get full coverage so lots of touching up needed. Glad I tried it. Still lots to learn about the hobby.
