  2. Avoided all the spoilers for the new daredevil until we could finish a big rewatch of the Netflix Daredevil and punisher and just to make sure nothing was missed defenders. Before season three of daredevil. Took a bit, but did finally get through all that and watched all of the episodes of born again over the weekend. gotta say I wasn’t impressed with the first few episodes, especially how badly handled the first episode was. The action was filmed extremely bad and the story felt like a jumble. We didn’t do a rewatch of Hawkeye or echo and I really couldn’t remember if either of those explained how Fisk avoided jail. Really didn’t want to rewatch echo, I just remember he was gonna run for mayor and had his brain turned to mush. So I felt kinda lost even though we had just done a major rewatch of the important Netflix stuff that might lead up here. It seemed really weird that the wife was able to run all of Fisk’s criminal businesses even though she was just an arts dealer and they really didn’t do much to explain how Fisk actually avoided prison until a quick one minute or less conversation at almost the end of the season. I do have to say that the action for the most part improved after that terrible fight with Bullseye. I do think they should not have used so much Snyder style slow motion though, especially with the punisher scenes. I think the biggest problem though is that the show just kinda felt like a redo of season three rather than a continuation. Fisk has everyone outmaneuver with law enforcement and government on his side and Daredevil has lost his focus. the whole thing of Fisk taking over by becoming Mayor still feels really far fetched and the fact that the citizens are ok with this police task force that doesn’t use body cams was also a bit tough to swallow. And the city lost its 💩over losing power for a few hours was way over the top. All complaining aside, I am glad the show is back and it probably is more entertaining to watch than most of the Disney plus marvel shows or D+ shows overall recently. Hopefully now the next season will be a bit more focused
  3. Are you planning on putting the digitizations up publicly? Want to know if I should hold off on buying my own secondhand copies of the short story collections.
  4. Today
  5. The /portable/ devs went bankrupt. They haven't made a SRW in ten years. The main devs are a direct subsidiary of Bandai.
  6. The season 2 reviews are in, and to the surprise of no one, they're stellar. i wish they weren't holding this thing until 9PM EST tomorrow. I go to bed at 10.
  7. Quite a haul today... all four Macross Frontier TV novels, both Macross Frontier movie novels, both Macross Delta novels, and both Macross Frontier shortstory collections. Gonna get cracking on those over the next couple days and start digitizing them before the end of the quarter.
  8. This is true, though the exemption may go away soon. It was providing advantages to companies like SHEIN and Temu that shipped individually. Was hoping I would be able to avoid some of the tariffs with them being de minimus but the way the tariffs have changed day-to-day with this Admin it is hard to tell what the tariffs may be and if the this exemption will continue after early May.
  9. Regards the "starter key" size - it could be thats because they're milspec, and designed for harsher environments (such as, well, SPAAAAAAACEEEE... ). The actual, erm, to use the technical term "gubbins" might be fairly small but if it has to interface with other things (like a military systems interface bus). Yes, I realise this doesn't explain why the GM keys in "Requiem" are essentially USB stick size (though we are presumably talking about different timelines and from memory the original "Gundam" series had a lot of what I like to call "Disco Tech"... 🙂). We also see that Zakus in this timeline are being used as Police machines, when presumably at the start of the war they were essentially state-of-the-art before the Gundam came along. There are organisations, even private individuals, that can operate former military hardware in the present age, though I admit with a lot more backing and support than being a bunch of kids in a shanty town and usually with the make-things-boom stuff deactivated (usually... ). Its possible it will be revealed they have more backing that we haven't seen yet (as of time of writing I haven't seen episode 3).
  10. Not a film, but a moody Knights of Ren/First Order origin story framework by Ash Thorp with great illustrations: https://www.altcinc.com/work/farfaraway
  11. It's not that I disagree, I just don't know how much faith I have in them not to go for the easy cash grab. And it's not just the fact that the joints for Magnus don't line up with the cab. The cab used the fist holes to connect, and ML Convoy doesn't have those fist holes. I think it's probably pretty trivial to find a way to transform Magnus' fists, but what about the chest, waist, and head? How many changes do we tolerate before it's less G1 toy with articulation and more new toy? I'm just feeling a bit pessimistic about this one. Fortunately Grimlock should be much easier for Takara to pull off.
  12. And this of course makes the situation between the New Republic and the First Order at the start of the Sequels even more stupid. Nobody in the Republic thought the First Order was a real threat. Leia and her private army took it upon themselves to try to stop them. The threat of the First Order in the Sequels could only exist if there we no major wars between the original trilogy and the sequels. With 30 years of peace, it makes the New Republic not treating the First Order as a real threat believable. Include a big war with Thrawn and that's no longer believable.
  13. So 845 pieces, in these modern days that's what, $100? My cousin's kid loves K2 and has a birthday coming up, this thing looks perfect, but $100 for such a small set would be a bit of a bummer.
  14. I'm just not a big fan of statues. I still prefer my Technic version of K-2SO as he was fairly-well executed and had better articulation than this. Admittedly, this gets his details and proportions far better and he could be modified to introduce the missing articulation. Moreover, it looks like a good parts pack for black elements.
  15. I pretty much agree, but I am sorta liking that gundam with the gm style head that char blew up though. Maybe down the line there will be another design that’s not as off putting as the rest and maybe something I will really like. It’s only two episodes in so far, and I hope everything isn’t too ugly. I did see a picture that was for a guntank that looked interesting, but I’ve never been a fan of the guntank
  16. Well, I didn't say it'd be easy! 😄 The OG definitely presents some challenges. Ultimately, they may just opt to fold prime up into a cube and keep him isolated in the top half while trying to work in the cuts and articulation of the armor without having to work around the core bot. However, as you say, that moves away from toy accuracy by a fair amount. In the end, a white Optimus may be all fans get. In cases like this, where the OG toy was nigh impossible to translate to a workable standard, either fans should be prepared for shortcuts, bad takes, or Takara should just leave them be.
  17. I think the challenge is in the placement of the white Prime in the G1 toy: The waist of Ultra Magnus is not where the waist of the Prime is. Likewise, the knees of Prime are at the waist of Ultra Magnus. I don’t think those are insurmountable odds but I feel they would have to change ML Convoy to give Ultra Magnus more articulation. I think they could skip the waist joint but I don’t see them skipping knee. I also think as a fan of the Missing Link line you would like Takara to stay as close to the original as possible. That cloud potentially look very weird so my train of thought was just a white Convoy would be much more likely. And Takara already released a repaint of ML Convoy with Sentinel Prime.
