  2. It's not that I disagree, I just don't know how much faith I have in them not to go for the easy cash grab. And it's not just the fact that the joints for Magnus don't line up with the cab. The cab used the fist holes to connect, and ML Convoy doesn't have those fist holes. I think it's probably pretty trivial to find a way to transform Magnus' fists, but what about the chest, waist, and head? How many changes do we tolerate before it's less G1 toy with articulation and more new toy? I'm just feeling a bit pessimistic about this one. Fortunately Grimlock should be much easier for Takara to pull off.
  3. And this of course makes the situation between the New Republic and the First Order at the start of the Sequels even more stupid. Nobody in the Republic thought the First Order was a real threat. Leia and her private army took it upon themselves to try to stop them. The threat of the First Order in the Sequels could only exist if there we no major wars between the original trilogy and the sequels. With 30 years of peace, it makes the New Republic not treating the First Order as a real threat believable. Include a big war with Thrawn and that's no longer believable.

  5. So 845 pieces, in these modern days that's what, $100? My cousin's kid loves K2 and has a birthday coming up, this thing looks perfect, but $100 for such a small set would be a bit of a bummer.
  6. I'm just not a big fan of statues. I still prefer my Technic version of K-2SO as he was fairly-well executed and had better articulation than this. Admittedly, this gets his details and proportions far better and he could be modified to introduce the missing articulation. Moreover, it looks like a good parts pack for black elements.
  7. I pretty much agree, but I am sorta liking that gundam with the gm style head that char blew up though. Maybe down the line there will be another design that’s not as off putting as the rest and maybe something I will really like. It’s only two episodes in so far, and I hope everything isn’t too ugly. I did see a picture that was for a guntank that looked interesting, but I’ve never been a fan of the guntank
  8. Well, I didn't say it'd be easy! 😄 The OG definitely presents some challenges. Ultimately, they may just opt to fold prime up into a cube and keep him isolated in the top half while trying to work in the cuts and articulation of the armor without having to work around the core bot. However, as you say, that moves away from toy accuracy by a fair amount. In the end, a white Optimus may be all fans get. In cases like this, where the OG toy was nigh impossible to translate to a workable standard, either fans should be prepared for shortcuts, bad takes, or Takara should just leave them be.
  9. I think the challenge is in the placement of the white Prime in the G1 toy: The waist of Ultra Magnus is not where the waist of the Prime is. Likewise, the knees of Prime are at the waist of Ultra Magnus. I don’t think those are insurmountable odds but I feel they would have to change ML Convoy to give Ultra Magnus more articulation. I think they could skip the waist joint but I don’t see them skipping knee. I also think as a fan of the Missing Link line you would like Takara to stay as close to the original as possible. That cloud potentially look very weird so my train of thought was just a white Convoy would be much more likely. And Takara already released a repaint of ML Convoy with Sentinel Prime.
  10. I hope not; I hope Takara's more committed than that. While they've pushed some white Optimi toys as UM over the decades, G1 UM is synonymous with his armored look and I would hope that if they indeed choose to do him as a Missing Link entry, they go all-in and figure out a way to make the trailer work as his armor, even if it means a bit of partsforming to achieve the trailer and the armor. I think that'd be more acceptable in most fans' eyes than just a naked white Optimus clone. I believe they're up to the challenge; after 40+ years of making these things, they certainly should be.
  11. I think these comparisons are really cool! Overall I'm liking the series, I will never be a fan of the designs but oh well, it's an enjoyable series and I'm hooked, definitely interested in seeing how things end.
  12. I’m dying laughing over here. Hahaha ✌️
  13. That, unfortunately, is an exceedingly likely possibility. On the plus side for you, if that turns out to be the case an ML Nemesis Prime would pretty much be a guarantee after that.
  14. The set will come with parts for 1/72 , alternate slightly more detailed parts for 1/48 version. Split parts for smaller 3d printers, and non split parts if you have an industrial printer. As well as all that , it will include all sizes at 1/1 so everything can be scaled at will with instructions on what percent to scale the parts to for the scale you want ( ex its 13.89 percent for 1/72). All parts have interlocking pieces so its easier to fit and glue.
  15. Gundam Fix Figuration Metal Composite Wing Gundam Zero Rebellion preorder at Anime Export (¥49980 pay now): https://www.anime-export.com/index.php?product=91302
  16. I wonder if the ML Ultra Magnus will be a white repaint of ML Prime, without the car carrier.
  17. From personal experience, they aren't malicious, just sometimes they lose track of things. So my gut tells me you'll get a response and everythingwill be resolved for you. If history holds true.
  18. I'm sometimes working on this Dirty Pair garage kit I bought at Wonder Festival in Chiba about 10 years ago. The last time I touched this was in 2021 I think. Now I've done a dry fit to test it out. Just using pins and blue tack to keep it together. The guy who made this kit also made other Lovely Angel kits, as well as Zentraedi and Meltrandi fleet ships. He introduced me to the head of Studio Nue... I forget his name because I am apparently not a big enough fan. IIRC, I think he told me that Kei's character was sort of inspired by his wife. Don't quote me on that.
  19. I am interested
  20. Yeah, I don't see Starscream et al getting the Missing Link treatment, because as much as they'd love to(one mold with six color schemes is WAY more profitable than six molds) it just doesn't seem possible to do the arms. But I've been wrong before, and TT has a financial interest in making it work.
  21. I probably had to leave most of the decals for all of these kits soaking for a good 5 minutes before trying to remove from the backing paper... But they did all eventually release without tearing. That's impressive enough for kits from the 1990's... but getting decals that are 40+ years old to work, that would be almost a miracle!
  22. I thought they would drag this out but nope, guess we're doin' this. Get ready for some real brutal stuff.
  23. I'm so sorry you've had to do that. I would think they'd have answered long before now.
  24. Still my favorite of the fan stuff
