  2. The knee gap is a consequence of needing to compress the legs for battroid, and stretch them out for fighter. Otherwise, you get the long skinny legs on the DX YF-19. Since the Fire Valk generally gets a lot more time and attention to battroid mode, the fighter just gets the short end of the stick to make the legs look appropriately chonky. The YF-19 got the opposite treatment, and while it leaves the battroid looking more lanky than it should, I'm not even slightly interested in them redoing it. All that will accomplish is giving us another giant knee gap like the Arcadia version has. We've got the Arcadia for a good animation battroid, and I'm fine letting Bandai keep its more fighter-focused take. (Though I would love to see them make that stupid gray thigh hinge match ) We'll see how he price works out though. Inflation (and other potential increases) aside, the exhange rate has still kept things fairly consistent on the import end for the US. I'm really not sure that neck cover is going to be an improvement though. They're trying to hide it with camera angles, but it looks like he's wearing a neck brace.
  3. We have legs. @MechTech The kit is pretty great, so you can keep the build simple. What bothered me the most (and actually kept me from buying at the original release date) was the weird look of the legs/feet. I identified the oversized ankle guards as the culprit and installed much smaller versions from a resin kit on my GP04. I also gave the knee vents more definition.

  5. So I guess they’re still gonna release them, just a few years later here in the U.S.
  6. I don’t see why not. They’ve been pretty good at pumping these out and the armor is gonna be something a lot of people will be wanting.
  7. So I wrapped S2 of Solo Leveling, aside from what I call some lazy/sloppy animation on fight scenes I liked it. It was better then I expected it to be, better then S1 and my hesitance to watch S2 was the overall meh feeling I had about S1. If they announce S3 I'd watch it... eventually
  8. This is what Ive been waiting for
  9. I wonder if Bandai will revisit the YF-19 and VF-19 Isamu sculpts using the new Kai as a base. Honestly, the previous 19s could use some bulking and would benefit greatly from this improvement. Anyone have skills to repaint the Kai and do a head, shoulder, and intake swap? Would be cool to see the changes.
  10. Thank you guys! This project is fun and stretching my knowledge of some of the arts. @derex3592 Your new bench looks cool! Not OCD though, just healthy!😁This is OCD (not mine): @Papa Rat Great finish to a new-old model kit! @electric indigo That GP04 is looking good! Are you doing anything extra, or building for fun? @nightmareB4macross The lines on that Valk just look right! MORE accurate lines than the original Chunky Monkey it was. You've become the Weight Watchers of Valks!😅 @pengbuzz I look forward to see what you do! Somebody actually brought one of those into our meeting this month (no hinges though). - MT
  11. I don't understand the knee gap. It's not even there in battroid or gerwalk, and as far as I can see, neither is it in various fighter mode art. It's literally only there in toy depictions, and only in fighter mode, through an intentional extention showing the gerwalk joint that is collapsed and hidden in other modes, and bandai is cranking it up to 11 here. Anyway, seems like the landing gear hubs are painted white. Seems like mega inflation for a barebones valk to cost more than the 25 Tornado...
  12. damn... a report of a QC issue with the MB Zeta. Appears to be the connector/part for the waverider wing: https://www.facebook.com/groups/112827532119888/posts/9497340920335122/
  13. It's still mostly kitbashing from existing models, so not as bad as it seems, but definitely takes time. I keep telling myself the end result will be worth it. We'll see, got to get there first! 😁
  14. More parts. These complete the initial release material. Ideally, they’ll cover the VF-1D fighter, the Gerwalk range, & GPB1, but I’m not confident.
  15. Have fun with it
  16. After all these years. They still can't fix the intake lip make it as smooth transition as YF -19. But anyway please take my money 😂😂😂
  17. As a big M7 fan I think the screaming face is a great addition. Love the standing Basara: Ore no uta o kike!!! I think I might buy two of the SynergenX Transformers Basara Prime if the guitar is big enough so I can give one to this VF-19Kai. Yeah, the spine in Fighter-Mode is ugly. Too bad they didn’t try to implement a cover that goes over the head turret to give it a more smooth looking spine. I think it will look better with a VF-19F/S head laser though.
  18. Okay, I got mine yesterday. It has an estimated gazillions runners. This is more intimidating than a Master Grade Gundam. No water slide decals :S Flabbergasting 133 steps instructions. BUT: it is all really nicely laid out. One could probably co-build this. Like arms and legs are just mirrored. Would be fun to sit with the kit and the kid, snapping parts together.
  19. Darn, that is one ugly looking headsculpt Basara pilot figure. I understand that it's hard to make it at that scale, but it just looks bad. The glasses look more like cybernetic eyes or something and the hair looks like wavy mush rather than the spiky hair. Other than that, really excited about this release and definitely getting it. Hopefully no QC issues so we don't have to play the Bandai'd lottery.
  20. Why does it look like in the pilot seat his face got smashed like a pancake
  21. i still have the ps2 copy and the sequel with the stuff animal edition. edit: this guy I'll be getting soulless army and probably the visual novel ai somnium files 3. I might try the Gundam as that's huge it's out in the west (in English).
