  2. I’ve always been curious if the heights on the backward leg mecha is listed with them somewhat bent or if it’s supposed to be with them fully extended. The pictures of the heights usually show the pods and monster with bent legs Oddly most of the time in the show, the zentraedi mecha aren’t much taller than a Valkyriein battroid mode, while the pilots appear more or less the same height as a Valkyrie in battroid mode. The animation is all over the place with scale and I think hasegawa chose to do them closer to how they appear in the show. Personally I would love to see a 1/72 pilot that’s about the same height as a battroid and the mecha reflect that size. But at least these don’t look too far from that to the 1/100 kits. As far as the movie when Kamjin gets out of his armor to squish Roy, he actually appears to be about the height shown on the scale charts. The Regults on the side walls appear rather large. But then Mirya appears extraordinarily massive after max defeats her. So even the movie is a bit odd.
  3. Yeah, but that line art was produced six months before the series began airing, and designs hadn't even been finalized at that point -- note the funky gunpod that Valkyrie is holding, for example -- and we all know how much the subsequent animation contradicts it. Hell, the narrative itself contradicts it, since Max's Valkyrie wears a Zentraedi uniform as a disguise at one point. In the series, Zentraedi soldiers are consistently depicted as the same height as the Battroid Valkyrie, and the Battroid passes through Zentraedi doorways with ease. They aren't tall doorways, either! 😅 Thus, if Zentraedi soldiers are as tall as Battroids (and Quamzin is one of the taller commanders), the Glaug cockpit should be large enough to fit a Valkyrie. Clearly, that scale chart was eventually abandoned entirely by the production... and yet, it's still referenced in official stats, that unfortunately determine merchandising scales. 😒 If only the Hasegawa or Bandai staff would take the time to actually watch the show... 🙄 As long as the merchandisers continue to accept published stats, instead of doing their own research, the problem persists. 😐
  4. Mine were very brittle, I manged to get a few together safely, but they were definitely brittle.
  5. It just kind of has a cheap outdated look to the metal effect. I guess I was expecting it to look a little realistic.
  6. Yeah, Episode 3 is headed back towards the same questionable formula that Bandai Namco used to put mobile suit battles into The Witch from Mercury without doing a war story... mobile suit duels as a sporting event. It's just going to make a lot less sense in GQuuuuuuX, since instead of The Witch from Mercury's duels between the heirs-apparent of the Earth Sphere's wealthiest to showcase the mobile suits their companies make and for status it's refugees having illegal underground tandem fights while somehow being able to supply, repair, and store mobile suits without drawing attention from the authorities.
  7. Thanks! That's exactly my thoughts on the armored parts. I've been building this Imai Armored Valk alongside the new Hasegawa one, and I had plenty of leftover paint I'd mixed for the armored parts on the Hasegawa one to use on this smaller kit. When I'm done, I'll take a picture of them side-by-side.

  9. Instructions have just been posted for the ATM-09-ST with Round-Mover Backpack so release is imminent! 🤗
  10. Hello. I'm newbie. slope
  11. Today
  12. I don't recall the stand plastics being made of the type that can become brittle, both white or black. Perhaps a couple of the semi-circle prongs did come off the gate right out of the box, but they were held with very thin sprues. The stand rods felt pretty robust. But I never used any of the black ones, as I felt they were pretty unsightly. For the figures with black stands and some of the later white ones, I went with ridiculously cheap KO transparent Tamashii Stage Act stands instead.
  13. "Good" is wholly subjective... but it's a fair question nevertheless. Disney was still leaning on the familiar OT designs or variations thereof through the end of the sequel trilogy. My (cynical) assumption would be that they would continue to lean on the same designs to minimize risk (based on the new movie being set only a short time after the sequel trilogy) and save a new design for a major event like a new trilogy. Maybe they'll dust off an old design as "new" the way they did for Ahsoka's first season.
  14. Will we get some original, and hopefully good, new fighter designs?
  15. Ah, ok. I guess credit for finally getting off the dime and moving the story forward a bit? There are certainly worse ideas than Top Gun: a Star Wars Story. With that timeframe it sounds like a refreshingly Jedi-free narrative, which is enough to pique my interest.
  16. It seems my misplaced reply and your reply to it got moved here. I feel like I've seen an AMV recently where there was footage of the yapping mouth used as Basara's megaphone.
  17. OK, so it's a title card. Still feel like a further continuation of Din and Grogu's story is kinda unnecessary.
  18. Apparently, this is the Ryan Gosling movie, that takes place 5 years after Rise of Skywalker. I'm going to guess some sort of fighter-pilot movie, but who knows?
  19. Well, that's vague... Are they remaking the 2001 Star Wars game by the same title? Adapt one of the starfighter-specific games? Just doing a story about fighter pilots?
  20. This Silver Surfer is Shalla-Bal (the male Silver Surfer’s lover in the comics). Essentially, multiverse shenanigans. Seeing that’s how Silver Surfer is portrayed in the comics, I’m not sure how else you can portray someone that looks like liquid metal Terminator.
  21. I still don’t get the female silver surfer, but it is what it is. I just wish they had better effects. She doesn’t look much better than that liquid terminator in t2
