The computer and electronics super geek thread
mikeszekely replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I get that, and I didn't expect to find three empty M.2 slots, but I figured maybe three with one occupied by the system drive. If you're already advertising that you have bluetooth and wifi 6 just don't count that as an M.2 slot even though it's technically in an M.2s slot, because very few people are willing to give up wifi and bluetooth to add another SSD. -
Gundam Show Thread - MSG thru GQuuuuuuX
F-ZeroOne replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I was trying to avoid a spoiler but yes... quite how they got it out of Brights hands without him slapping the boarding force out of existence is going to have to be one of many questions they'll need to answer... š(I am aware that that there was more than one of the same class of ship... )- 3734 replies

Comparing my Wave and ARII 1/72 Tomahawks (except not really)
tekering replied to DeltaE27's topic in Model kits
Thanks for the comparison pics, and great work on the Wave kits! I especially like the blue one. š As always, I'm grateful Moscato Hobby manages to capture mecha designs with more accurate proportions than the licensed manufacturers (vintage or modern)... Mind you, that Yamato's no slouch either. -

Iām back! After mentioning I had a Tomahawk in the works in my phalanx post and then proceeding to do nothing with it for months, I can finally show it off. The Tomahawk has always been my favorite of the non-transforming stompy Macross designs ever since I was young. This may explain why I have wound up with multiple. In my defense, I started an ARII kit (weāll get to that later!) long before I knew the Wave kits were even a thing. But that got set aside for a long while, and then I found the Wave kits. I really like the Wave kit, even if some of the gimmicks come out a bit too tight once paint is applied. I think in total itās something I can be happy to have on my shelf. And I appreciate the face has a lot of detail. Hi ho, Kermit the Frog here But as mentioned, I did have an ARII tomahawk, and after finishing the Wave design I thought Iād finish up that gray-blue menace and compare the two. Presenting, my ARII tomahawk. Honestly it holds up great for an old kit. The two are very comparable. In fact, if I didnāt know better, Iād say theyāre- Oh. Yes, Iāve deceived you (which you hopefully realized when you read the title of the post). As it turns out I have not two tomahawks but THREE. the ARII design is saddened by the deception. When all I had was the ARII kit I decided to paint it closer to the show I knew. It wasnāt 100% the same but I wanted something like that tan design I thought I remembered from the show, even if it was basically a color swap of the ARII manual. So I repainted it. I ALSO swapped the legs on the IMAI defender kit I was working on simultaneously with the ARII legs because I liked them better and, as previously mentioned, the Tomahawk has always been my favorite. I got it all together, ready for detailingā¦and then stopped. And then found the Wave designs. I built a wonderful new tomahawk. And then I got a bundle deal for a defender and another Wave tomahawk. It was the cheapest option I could find for a defender somehow. So, inspired by the ARII art and the decals I still hadnāt applied, I wound up with a blue Wave tomahawk. I styled it as an early variant since the art had a red visor and I found a Mecha index tidbit stating that earlier variants were deployed with red visors. Then I decided to style it as a Marines unit like the VF-0C Hasegawa made, deployed to the Prometheus. All the UN MARINES logos were individually assembled from third party decal letters, while the numbers were individually assembled from numbers that Wave at least included as optional decals. Fun times. Meanwhile, the decals I stole from the ARII kit were old and very much disintegrating on me. Even more fun times as I tried to fix those with paint. Still, I like the result. Youād almost never know the āVAMā in the leg art is hand drawn from fragments of decal that were still available and paint marker. By the time I was decalling and panel-line-ing the ARII design I already had one wonderful completed Wave kit. So I didnāt use as much care as I couldāve to finish it. That, plus decals that I decided not to fix meant the end product is much more rough. But hey, better a kit I decided to quickly finish than one I never finished at all! Anyway, this post is way too long now, so from all three of my tomahawks, farewell and thanks for reading!

Marvel Studios TV Shows and Animation on Disney+

I'm confused by that. I know he has a real good aim but that object and the method of launching it wouldn't have enough force to cause such an injury.- 1476 replies

Yeah, these new PC cases got bigger and heavier with the tempered glass to show off the RGB lights and is why I passed on them for my next build. Ended up buying a ASUS AP201 MFF case which is way lighter and has enough space for my RTX 5080 and a HDD. My build will be all stealth black, no RGB, which I think is distracting and just another thing to manage which I don't want. I just want excellent performance in a PC! -
Finished the second/final season of 1923 starring Harrison Ford and its another win by Taylor Sherican! Great cast and Brandon Sklenar should have a heckuva future.

Wait for the day you have to deal with their warranty service. š¤£ They never said the slots weren't already occupied, just that it had 3 M.2 slots and 2 bays. SI doesn't provide additional mounting hardware for expansion. Why am I not shocked? -
At that point, unless you actually want the half-coated fighter mode, it'd be a lot less work just swapping the head and shoulder fins to a normal Fire Valk, and touching up the parts that aren't already red. I'm thinking something more like this: I've been wanting to make one of this type for a while, but I really want to take that even a step further, and customize it into a short-winged variant. I'm much more comfortable experimenting on an HMR than I am with one of my old Yammies, so I'm going to see if I can't find a way to print up some conversion parts for the wings and wing gloves.

It's all good. I'll probably use the first release Professor X head on the Savage Land figure body. https://www.toyark.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=55567&d=1566784898 Star Wars TBS Savage Opress.- 616 replies

Nice! I never played the Breakers on Vita, just PS3 for the first two, PS4 for the third, and PC for GB4. I did play Gundam Seed Battle Destiny (good, but not as good as Gundam Battle Universe on the PSP) and Gundam Extreme Vs Force, which I seem to recall reviewing poorly but I loved it for the solid single player campaign.

New PC arrived. Asus ought to step up their QC... Out of the box it kept giving me errors about being unable to continue the Windows installation. Fortunately I used to fix computers for a living, so it wasn't difficult to get into Windows Recovery, run a factory reset, and then get it setup. Another minor complaint is that Best Buy advertises it as having three M.2 slots and two 2.5" bays. Well, the only way you're getting three m.2 slots is if you pull out the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi module; there's only one free slot. As for the 2.5" bays, there's room in front of the PSU but no mounting hardware- no cages, no sleds, no caddies, nada. I put my 2TB game drive in the M.2, and for now I installed my 3TB 3.5" bulk storage drive by screwing it into the bottom of the case with a single screw. Down the roads I'll probably get a PCIe NVME card and a 4TB SSD to replace it, but I'm kind of irritated that a case that's probably 20-25% bigger than my old one can't properly fit a 3.5" drive. On the plus side, I went from 45-50fps on a medium-low mix and minimal ray tracing on AC Shadows to 60-65fps on High with the ray tracing cranked all the way up. So once I get all my stuff reinstalled and my settings tweaked the way I like I'll be quite happy. EDIT: tried Ultra High and was in the high 50s, so I dialed back a few things like fog, shadows, and clutter and was able to get over 60 with with good stuff still maxed. -
Thanks for the link. Excited to read it tonight. Also love the Miami Vice panel. Lol

Damn it: https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/mythic-quest-canceled-apple-tv-plus-new-ending-1236366662/ It was a fun series that could surprise you with its silliness or kick you in the feels. Or sometimes both. Gonna miss where they could have taken the characters with another season.
