1982-1983
Original series.
Imai is one of the original Macross kit manufacturers from 1982. Their first lineup was very diverse, and the quality of their kits excellent. Imai mass produced itself into bankruptcy in the early 80's. Bankruptcy court forced them to sell off all their tooling to Bandai for any Macross model kits they had made. |

Iron
Type Series
Imai took many (last count is 11) of their models coated the plastic in a very dark grey material to simulate cast Iron. Each model comes with a large textured base to place the finished version on. These are very similar to Arii's Metalize Custom series of kits. |
