Kawamori unofficially got his first start with Space Cruiser Yamato. He
did some designs, but because he was still in college, he did not work
with the Yamato staff. He did, however, get his first start as a guest
mecha designer in the Space Pirate Captain Harlock series. -- After Harlock, Kawamori did work on the anime one-shot TechnoPolice 21 before his Macross project was approved for production. -- Kawamori actually appears in Do You Remember Love? as the fan that stumbles while trying to get Minmay's autograph. -- Kawamori said he will never use Hikaru, Misa and Minmay in a Macross sequel in the near future. -- Kawamori mentioned that the use of computer graphics in Macross Plus was very limited due to budgets. But that was damn good. ;-) -- One of his biggest influences was Thunderbirds. He loed the show so much that he hated Ultraman at the time. "I really believed there was no way modern weapons could possibly lose against some giant space barbarian. LOL" Courtesy of Jeremy Lapus |
