Zamuse : Macross Originally Published : Emulated? Yes MW's Current Collectibility Rating : Difficult MW's Max price we'd pay: $30 Description : This is a side-scrolling (horizontal) shoot-em-up cartridge game for the Nintendo Super Famicom (known as SNES in US Europe). Players can choose between 3 different Valkyries piloted by either Hikaru, Max or Milia. Each Valkyrie can be freely transformed at any time in the game. Transforming your Valkyrie gives you different attacks in each mode. Power-ups and shield recharges are available throughout the game. An interesting feature of the game is that if you do not press the fire button for a few seconds, your VF will be surrounded in a greenish-yellow fireball. When this happens, you can touch an enemy and that they will then fight on your side. Perhaps, an early application of Sound Energy? |

You actually play through the DYRL movie, from beginning to end. Of course the last level you get to fight while Mari Iijima's (Minmay) sings Ai-Oboete Imasuka to motivate you piloting! Intermissions are straight from the film, in Truemotion video. Quality is exceptional! Special opening animation was created just for this game. If you beat the game on hard level, a little Minmay doll dances on the screen while the credits roll! Highly recommend this game, it's the reason I got a Saturn! 2 CD-ROMs |

Bandai Visual : Macross Digital Mission VF-X Originally Published :1997 Emulated? No MW's Current Collectibility Rating : Fair MW's Max price we'd pay: $20 Description : 1 Player first person shooter, 12 stages This game was highly anticipated as being the ultimate Macross game, but unfortunately fell short. Game pop-up (objects appearing out of nowhere) hampered this game significantly. The basic premise though was enough to keep most gamers glued to the screen. Choose from VF-1, VF-4, VF-11, VF-17, VF-19, and VF-22 fighters. This ability to choose from multiple Valkyries is great, and their transformations are wonderful and stay true to the series high action from. The ending stage is very DYRL-like. The Milky Dolls sing their song just for you! Special opening animation was created just for this game. If you are a real ace, you get to play the final level using Max's Super Valkyrie! A bonus for beating all stages is a special 'transformation program', where you can control camera angle, fighter choice, and transformation movements. 1 CD-ROM |
