Macross World
The latest entry in the Macross franchise was announced only moments ago!
After the credits rolled on episode 25 (‘Last Frontier’) of the current Macross Frontier rebroadcast on Tokyo MX, a message was briefly displayed that announced an all-new Macross TV series.
The official website for the upcoming Macross Frontier movie bluray boxset has been updated with information and samples of some of the included extras.
The update includes lists of much of the included video content (interestingly, any video’s reused from the PSP game limited packs have been remastered in HD!), sample pages from the setting documents (200p) and illustration (100p) books, and (finally) details regarding the PS3 ‘PlayView’ feature.
Both Bandai Visual and AV Watch have listed a bluray release of perennial fan favourite Macross 2: Lovers Again.
The 6-episode OVA will be released as a 2-disc bluray boxset on July 25, 2014 at a recommended retail price of 14,904yen, and will include a 100-page booklet and clean OP & ED. As with other recent Macross releases, the boxset will only be manufactured for 12 months.
No word on English language options at this stage.

The latest in the series of temporary ‘Oshare Macross’ stores opened at Shinjuku Marui Annex today.
With a decidedly Valentine’s Day theme, this new Oshare Macross also featured a sneak peek at the packaging for the upcoming Macross Frontier movies Bluray box set (with the art for the extras disc being a temporary placeholder), some new Sheryl and Ranka art (art-cards & tapestries), Macross-themed cakes and cookies, and even a hidden Hidetaka Tenkin-signed valkyrie. Oh, and the Decul-CHA (Cha = tea) pun was finally taken to it’s logical extreme with the introduction of Macross Frontier-branded tea.
Oshare Macross will be held from Feb. 01 to Feb. 22 on the 6F of Shinkuku Marui Annex.

Due to be released on March 26 at a recommended retail price of 2000yen (plus tax) this 30th anniversary duet album will feature 5 all new collaborations, as well as the duets previously featured on the Nyan Dora drama albums. Among other highlights, the album will also include the first ever recorded version of the Mao Nome/Sheryl Nome version of Aimo that was first performed at the Macross Live 30 concert in 2013!

The ’30th Shooting Star’ box set will include 3 discs:
Disc 1: The False Songstress (includes a previously theatrical screening-only opening segment)
Disc 2: The Wings of Farewell (includes new ending concert CG animation – previously seen at Crossover Live 30)
Disc 3: Project F – Ultimate Hybrid Disc (includes ‘Play View’ and 120mins of extras/documentaries).

The specs of the set clearly show that Discs 1 & 2 will contain English subtitles – a first for any official new Macross animation in 18 years!

Voice actress Aya Edo, known better by Macross fans as the speaking voice of Sheryl Nome in Macross Frontier, announced on Thursday in her blog that she had gotten married.
No information has come to light yet regarding who the lucky groom was, how they met, or whether he goes by the nickname ‘Princess.’

Just when Macross fans thought their wallets were safe, a new Macross Frontier Bluray Disc boxset has been announced. While Macross Frontier has already been released on BD previously, this new set will feature a new digital remaster that the trailer claims will reduce banding, resulting in a sharper image, a mountain of extras, and will be in print for a limited period of 1 year. No word on English subtitles at this stage.
