Back in February, MW resident May’n fans Vanpang and VF25-F traveled all the way to Japan to see the Macross Frontier Diva herself live on stage.
What follows is their story.
Taken from their site Animazement.org: Animazement is an all-volunteer, fan-run anime convention in Raleigh, North Carolina, celebrating popular Japanese visual culture in all of its forms. The parent organization of Animazement, Educational Growth Across Oceans (EGAO) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Haruhiho Mikimoto, character designer of SDF Macross, DYRL, Macross II and Macross 7 and the currently running manga Macross The First will be a guest for this con. Please check their site for schedules and other infos.
The infamous “sequel” gets a rundown on Anime Abandon. So just why did it get booted out into its own continuity? Do its good parts compensate the bad ones? Just watch the link below to find out:

Is Macross Plus the greatest OVA ever made? Bennett “The Sage” makes the case on his show “Anime Abandon”. Sage is an online entertainer and reviewer specializing in recent video games and old anime. You can watch part one of his M+ review following the link below:

Anime News Network has reported that Kaoru Shimamura, the voice actress of Macross 7’s motorcycle gang leader Rex, has passed away after battling breast cancer. She was only 43.
Farewell Rex. Surely Basara is singing ‘My Soul For You’ as you ride off into the sunset.
(Thanks to forum user Einherjar for picking up on the news)
A new series of articles on the late Noboru Ishiguro has just begun to be serialized on Japan Cinema.
By the way, I took the above photograph myself and it is probably my favourite photo of Ishiguro-san ever!
You can read part 1, focusing on the life of Ishiguro, here:

The links at the end lead right here to Macross World; my intention is to spread the knowledge of Japanese animation across various platforms. I hope you enjoy the article. More to come!
According to this post, GA Graphic, one of the most informative websites on the net that has brought Japanese toys, statues and models news since 2005 will be shutting down at the end of this month. They are also responsible for bringing us the Master File Publications such as the upcoming Variable Fighter Master File VF-0 Phoenix, the two VF-1 books, one for the VF-19 and one for the VF-25. The Master File Publications will continue according to the announcement, but the editorial department for the web site is scheduled to disband on the 31st.
Sad news indeed. Thanks for the scoops, GA Graphic. You will go down as one of the better sites that are now gone. Sigh, reminds me of Zinc Panic.
Bndena, the popular Japanese cell-phone game company, has updated its website with the first footage of its upcoming Macross SP Cross Deculture game for smartphones. No details on a release date or pricing as of yet.
