DECULTURE! MWCon’s First Art Show
In our efforts to expand the experience at this year’s Macross World Convention, we decided to add on an art show that would allow well known artists in the pop culture circuit to interpret the Macross Universe in their own unique style. This show featured some amazingly talented artists, who include Heejin Park, Maria Vitan, Cole Lemke, Mary J. Hoffman, Tou Vue, Sho Murase, Danny Doublin, as well as a few familiar names, Jerome Lu, Chito “KWESTONE” Arellano and Tracy Tubera.
Though many of the pieces sold at the show we do have a few left that is now available for those that couldn’t make it to the convention. Check out these artist’s pages and if you’re interested in any of the artwork, please email art.macrossworld@gmail.com to make a purchase. Each piece does come framed and ready-to-hang. Please be aware that prices do not include shipping.

For everyone else that wants it delivered, it’ll be available to until Friday, October 4th to be shipped the following week. There will be 2 types of shirts available. Active, which is the regular weight shirt and Max Heavyweight, which is a heavier weight shirt that allows for the tall sizes that a lot of guys ask for. Dinner with Tenjin
MWcon is hosting a special dinner with Tenjin as a special guest. This is a fundraising dinner and the cost is $150 per person. The dinner will be on October 4th, the night before the Convention at around 7pm in Redondo Beach. Los Angeles, CA (September 12th, 2013) – MacrossWorld Con 2013 announces an all-new competition, “Macross Idol”! This cosplay and talent contest welcomes all performers and cosplayers inspired by the popular anime franchise to the Torrance Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, October 5th!
This exciting event offers entrants different ways to compete! Cosplay, singing, and other performances are encouraged. Prizes include Macross figures and other merchandise, and the winner will be crowned “Miss/Mister Macross”!

The only thing they can’t print is the blue background with the text because the white ink would make it too expensive. Our special guest, Hidetaka Tenjin has graciously donated this wonderful autographed sketch of Roy Focker’s Strike Valkyrie. This original piece of art will be raffled at the 2013 Macross World Convention. Stay tune here for more info on the raffle.
As per request from the artist himself, only attendees of the Convention will have a chance to win this item. He wants to be able to hand it and take a photograph with the lucky winner.

As previously mentioned on our face book page and as she announced on her own, Macross World Convention is pleased to welcome back Mari Iijima for 2013! Known to Macross fans as the voice of Lynn Minmay from the original series, Mari Iijima now lives in the U.S. as an accomplished musician, actress and advertising model. She has graced our convention before and as always we are very excited to have her return to perform and sign autographs. With the bigger venue this year, we are hoping that everyone will get a good view of her performance. But get your seat early, because it’s always a packed house when Mari starts to play.
